just great.

"Excellent value for a quality hotel."
For the price this was probably the best value upmarket hotel we have stayed in for many years. The spacious bedroom suite and bathroom were beautifully decorated and tastefully furnished as indeed were the public areas of the hotel. The buffet breakfast was bountiful with a wide selection of quality items and professional and courteous service when […] required. Overall, a very pleasant experience. Mehr
"all excellent bar 1 point"
Very enjoyable, good quality of service, excellent rooms. The only thing i found annoying was the bed was too soft. I know this sounds a bit picky but what other part of a hotel are you exposed to for 6-8 hours? Possibly just me but if it's important to you, now you know to ask if there are alternatives.

"Perfect"
I only stayed one night for a work trip but was really impressed with the quality of the hotel and the staff were extremely efficient and friendly.
very good - room hot, staff not very helpful in some cases, elevator malfunctioned once, great location, good breakfast, got value, some nice staff very good.

The hotel is allright but very expensive for a small room down a flight of stairs. The breakfasts are very expensive. There is no other place to eat. I will stay downtown next time.
"Stanhope - A bit of Britain in Brussels"
The Stanhope Hotel is a lovely hotel with excellent staff and nice amenities. I stayed over a weekend sightseeing business but it would be fine for business travelers. Only a 10 minute walk to the EU buildings and the restaurants/bars of Place du Luxemborg. The room was well appointed, but very small as you had to squeeze between the corner of the desk […] and the bed. But it was an excellent value. I would stay there again in the future. Mehr
"Lovely hotel and staff"
Thoroughly enjoyed my short stay here - about 15 minutes walk to Grand Place and other sites and close to the European parliament. The only shortcoming was no tea or coffee making facilities in the room.
"The Stanhope Hotel in Brussels"
We took a train to Brussels Luxembourg Station which is a 10 - 15 minute walk from the hotel and then discovered that the hotel is just a one minute walk from Troon Metro Station which makes this hotel all the more convenient. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would definetly stay in this hotel again if we visit Brussels.

"Cold water and expensive internet"
The staff are really what makes this hotel 5 star. However, the high cost of internet is just outrageous and the only free internet is at the lobby on the hotel computer - not even free wifi in public areas! In this day and age that is ludicrous. Also, the water was freezing and it was never hot enough to have a proper long shower, again madness particularly […] when you are on business and the minimum requirements for a trip, i.e. washing! Overall I woudn't stay again but I think the hotel has potential, great staff, decent food and a good location. Mehr
"Great Hotel"
We stayed here on a Saturday night and had a great stay, room was fantacstic, great value for money and the service was fantastic. It is about 15-20 mins walk into town which is nice as it goes past the royal palace and a nice square. The surrounding area is fine. There are a couple of shops and cafes.
quick and efficient breakfast service.
"WOW"
We were bowled over with the price vs the accomodation provided. We knew that New Years day nothing would be open so wanted a bit more luxury if spending more time in accomodation. This ticked every box of comfort and anyone saying otherwise are just being really picky and should take time out to visit the real world. We thought that they would have […] the nice rooms shown on the Internet then we would be shown into a cupboard at the back of the property but we weren't and were provided with all mod cons in the price. This included 2 flatscreen TVs, complimentary products, huge comfortable bed, lovely people on room service etc . . . The only gripe was the range of food and the price. As we arrived over the weekend most of the food on the menu was not available as the restaurant is not open over the weekend which was disappointing but found plenty local places to eat within a 5 min walk so didn't cause any problems. Mehr
"new year"
The room was very nice and clean, we had no problems and the location was close to the metro. We loved it.
"The Stanhope Hotel- Brussels"
This was a charming hotel just outside the centre of Brussels. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel and would definately recommend it to other young couples who want a quiet hotel.

"Stanhope Brussels"
Stayed here lots of times and had poor experience last visit -abandoned by bellboy on way to room- room not as clean as should be- decor looking a bit tired. Breakfast 25 Euro! Ok if good room rate otherwise better Hotels in Brussels.
"Stanhope hotel - luxurious & convenient"
We had a lovely stay in the Stanhope - it's within easy walking distance of the city centre and lots of amazing restaurants/bars etc. The hotel itself is gorgeous and the room was very comfortable. The staff were also very friendly and helpful dealing with any requests. Would definitely stay again...
"Great Hotel"
This is my second stay at the Stanhope and it is one of the hotels where I prefer going in this price range. Great hotel, great service, great location. Perfect!
Very nice hotel, paricularly impressed considering the price I paid. Unique, very comfortable atmosphere. Close to the royal palace, but also not too far from the city center. My only complaint is that there was a "master" power switch for the entire room...meaning that to turn all the lights off you also cut power to the outlets, or you had to manually […] unplug two lamps that didn't have individual switches. Not a huge deal, but a bit of an annoying oversight. Mehr
"quiet"
and a little out of the way on weekends, but nice.
"understated luxury and comfort"
The Stanhope is a quiet, well run hotel that offers lovely, well appointed rooms at fair prices. The patio is delightful for drinks outside. The personnel is friendly and accommodating. One small gripe: the hotel should make access to the common area computer easier. The complicated password entries stymied many potential users.
"Stanhope Brussels - excellent accomodations"
I stayed at the Stanhope for two nights, and could not have been more pleased with the accomodations. I was traveling on a budget, and after seeing the property I cannot believe this place was even in my price range. Definitely 4.5 or more stars. I was upgraded to a 'queen room' at check-in, and I foolishly thought this meant a queen-size bed. N-O. […] This room was lavish enough for a queen. Stylish, comfortable, spacious, and quiet even though it faced the street. The neighborhood was a bit bare in terms of cafes, restaurants and people, but it was perfectly placed between the upper town and lower town if you were touring the city. Housekeeping was not the best - the hairdryer in the room did not work and the only way to dry my hair was to be given access to a vacant room; and when I came back to the hotel around 2:30pm after the first nights stay, my room had not been cleaned and there were several knocks on my door to inquire when they might clean it, which was annoying. The front desk staff handled any situations that arose, and were quite helpful in making plans for the day. I would recommend staying here to almost anyone, except families. The vibe was elegant and posh, and very adult. After a torrential downpour in Bruxelles I was glad to return to the Stanhope after a long day of travels. Mehr
"Stanhope Hotel Brussels"
Gracious hotel.Gorgeous lobby, bar area and outdoor patio. Close to Palace and European parliament. Pricey restaurant.
"Location"
It was near the centre and close to the Metro, airport and Eurostar. Lovely hotel. Nice breakfast although a bit pricey.
"Stanhope Hotel in Brussels"
The Stanhope Hotel is located just behind the Royal Palace. We spent most of our time around Grand-Place which was a good 10-15 minute walk. We booked a suite and even though it didn't resemble the one pictured, the room was beautiful. The staff were all pleasant and helpful, however, there is no turn down service here so if you require that, you are […] out of luck. During our stay in August of 2011, there was construction directly across from our room. We were about to request to be moved, but when I closed the window, the noise actually disappeared! The windows turned out to be 99% sound-proof. Since the work was being done during the day and we were away from the hotel at that time, it didn't matter to us. Mehr
"Stanhope Hotel"
The Stanhope is a sweet place close to the sites of Brussels. Wish they offered their guest free wireless. I was a registered guest for 15 hours and walked the city for 6 of it and slept for 8. In my one hour in the room it would have been nice to check email etc. Cost is 9.95 euros/day no matter how much you use it. Seems a bit much.
"Excellent - value for money"
I would definitely stay here again if I was ever in Brussel. Beautiful hotel and very good service. Highly recommended.
"Stanhope is wonderful, if you're staying in"
My husband and I stayed in this hotel for our 1st anniversary, and the hotel was great. The room was lovely, service was good, all the things you would expect of a 5* hotel. However, I get the impression that because this hotel is so close to EU Parliament, that it is a place where the MEPs stay during session. Because we visited Brussels during the […] summer, the hotel restaurant was closed (until Sept) as were most of the restaurants and cafes around the hotel. It is about a 5 min walk from the Royal Palace and a 20 minute walk to the Grand Place Square. My only complaint about the hotel is that it is not in a great neighborhood. We arrived too late for dinner on our first night and asked reception to point us in the direction of a convenience shop. We followed the directions to some shops a few blocks away and were followed by some very scuzzy men who I'm quite certain planned on robbing us. We quickly changed course and got back to the hotel. It was a scary experience to say the least. We learned straight away that to go to the town centre from the hotel was perfectly safe, but to venture deeper into the European/African quarter was unsafe. Overall we were pleased with the hotel apart from this one bad experience on the first night. Mehr
"Stanhope Hotel - Brussels"
Not what I had expected - Very much better. The reception staff were excellent and welcoming the ambience was superb and the room absolutely excellent with top quality facilities. Ideally situated for the Metro and about 12 bus routes yet within a cheap taxi ride also of most things. Free use of broadband computer in the reception area. Overall a very […] pleasnt experience. "The Stanhope Hotel - Brussels"
The Stanhope is a lovely renovated 19th century building. It is very tastefully furnished and pleasing to the eye. The staff are very helpful. One comment: At checkout on Saturday morning, I noticed that there was quite a line up of people, with only one agent at the reception. Fortunately on our check out on Sunday, we did not encounter this. Our room […] was comfortable but the air conditioning did not cool the room. Fortunately it was not a hot weekend, only warm. But nevertheless, we were forced to open the window, which let in street noises and did not make for a good night's sleep. The buffet breakfast was very attractively set out and had lots of choices. One comment: As a tea drinker, I did not appreciate having a cup of hot water with a teabag on the side - for a 5* hotel, there should have been an individual teapot. Other than these two critiques, it was a very enjoyable stay. Would recommend it to friends. Mehr
We chose the Stanhope Hotel because not only was the rate offered by Hotels.com very good, but the location (not too far from the city centre) was what we wanted. To enjoy a five star hotel for a two star special weekend price was extraordinary value. The room was quiet, clean and comfortable, but we avoided using the mini bar or taking any of the biscuits/chocolates […] as these were hideously expensive! Mehr
"Good hotel, but . . ."
Don't get me wrong. The Stanhope is a very nice hotel, with lots to recommend it. It's located close to transportation and to some of the major museums. The staff is helpful, the shower's great, and room service is lightning fast. So what's wrong? Other than being small, the only problem with the room was that the air conditioning was useless. Cold […] air was blowing out of the vent next to the window, but simply didn't enter the room at all. It made very little difference whether it was on or off. As I have found with other 4-star hotels, they sock you quite a bit extra for things like internet and breakfast. Fortunately, there are lots of breakfast places in the immediate area. Unfortunately, they all close around 5, leaving virtually no dinner restaurants nearby. You can get dinner at the hotel restaurant (fairly pricey), room service, or the bar, although food service in the bar is at a snail's pace. On the plus side, there is a pleasant patio that can be used for dining. Mehr
"The hotel Stanhope"
The Stanhope was a good hotel and i would stay there again the room was clean and the staff were very helpful it was only a short walk to the main train station and shopping area and not far from city museum and hop on and hop off buses

"Near Museums"
A lovely hotel, within walking distance of the major museums in Brussels. The staff were extremely helpful and arranged an early departure breakfast for me. I would definitely return.
"Stanhope Hotel, Brussels"
The hotel was beautiful - the rooms were carefully considered so that everything you could possible need was there! My only issue was the pricing on use of the internet €9.95 for 2 hours. Most hotels provide free wifi or internet cables...
