Das Hotel besticht durch seine Lage am alten Chattanooga Bahnhof und der Gleisbereich, die ehemalige Schalterhalle und die Eisenbahnwagons als umfunktioinierte Zimmer sind sehr schön. Insgesamt ist aber die Qualität der Zimmer und des Service allenfalls Durchschnitt. Das Frühstücksbuffet war überteuert und bot wenig Auswahl.

Hotel hat seine beste Zeit bereits hinter sich. Zimmer in den Wagons sind jedoch schön. Service und Frühstück sind gut.

Wegen Überbuchung der einfachen Zimmer gab es ein Upgrade: eine Nacht im Choo-Choo-Waggon. Ein tolles Erlebnis, auch wenn es den Komfort auch für deutlich weniger Geld gibt. Das Hotel ist nett aufgemacht, mit Gasfackeln und alter Lok etc. Als Erlebnis zu empfehlen, wenn nur Übernachtung dann doch eher ein Kettenmotel zum halbe Preis nehmen.

Das Hotel ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Das Personal war jedoch freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Zimmer war sauber und komfortabel. Aussergewöhnliches Hotel! In jeder Hinsicht grosszügig. Komfort und Essen im Restaurant könnte besser sein. Die ganze Anlage ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Trotzdem würden wir wieder dieses charmante Hotel wählen.

The first room assigned,5003, had not been cleaned it beds changed from previous guest. After a few minutes the security guard brought new keysto room 5009. Partly used bar of soap and used shampoo bottle was in the tub area. The iron had been left out on a table. We were so exhausted and had a sleeping baby that we did not ask for a room change. This hotel is very convenient to most of the Chattanooga tourist sights. We staying in a train car which was amazing for the kids. They loved the room! I had originally booked a basic room for around $140 (after taxes). This room was pretty crummy and the building felt pretty run down. I upgraded to a train car suite for an extra $40 and that room was great. Really cool. Surprisingly quiet and very comfortable. The premium room is a great value relative to the basic room.

We went to the Chattanooga Choo Choo to stay a couple of nights for my daughter who was attending UTC. When we arrived to the front desk they told us we were upgraded to a train car. We thought this may be better so went with it only to find out the train car was small and the air did not work properly. We then asked to be down-graded to a regular room […] only to find out it was moldy and musty in the room. The carpet was damp and it smelled awful. I only stayed one night out of the two and ended up having to leave and stay some where else the following night. The hotel is outdated and OLD! The Choo Choo is historical but should have spent money on an upgraded facility instead of adding on to Hotel #2 and #3! Mehr

Staying at this hotel was perfect for us as we were attending a concert at the Track 29 venue on the same campus. We had a great pre-show dinner at The Terminal across the street. We paid extra to stay in a "train car" room - and the added cost is obviously only for the novelty of saying you have slept in a train car at the Chattanooga Choo Choo. We were completely impressed by the staff and the ease of check-in. We opted to upgrade to a Railcar and it was totally worth it! We will stay there again....without a doubt!

Building 3 is the best. My room was large and comfortable. Unique property, remember it is an old train yard! Families with little ones seemed most happy. There are 3 pools, one indoors. The terminal brew house next door is great! Don't miss it!

Gardens and Train area very well kept and nice to view . Nice indoor pool. We stayed in Hotel 1 and it is in need of updating !!! The hallways and carpet around pool area on 2nd floor need work . Free City bus stop right at the front entrance of Hotel was a plus . We enjoyed our stay !

surrounding neighborhood was not the greatest. when doors opened to hotel we were quite surprised. it was just beautiful & enjoyable. the main lobby was huge with the restaurant through another set of doors. the menu had alot of choices & the buffet, when available, both for breakfast & dinner was great. my only downfall was that i am use to having […] rooms right off of lobby and these rooms (which were clean & overlooking pool) were in another building. there was a trolley service available which took you back & forth. alot of stores to browse in & trains to look at. would stay again!!! When we got off the interstate, we were a bit taken back by the area it is in but once you are parked and in the hotel complex, you are in your own little train village and we forgot all about the area. I would say it could use some updating as far as the rooms and the buildings for rooms but it is "historical". The beds are very firm, not arthritis friendly. Breakfast is really expensive, with no discount for hotel guests. Other than that, the personnel are very nice, and the location is great. Chattanooga's downtown is a great deal of fun and the Choo-Choo is part of it.

Stayed in a train car. Windows were dirty and blinds were dusty. However, the bed was quite comfortable and so were the pillows. The sheets and the towels were white and clean smelling. Great location with free shuttle to down town attractions the run directly from the hotel all day long. Very convenient! I stayed in one of the train rooms. This was our second visit to the Choo-Choo. It is a great experience and unlike any other hotel... anywhere. It's got charm galore and from what I observed, they are currently struggling to improve the maintenance issues. Still, it has to cost a mint to keep up the huge terminal building - all the rail cars and other buildings. The free shuttle to all points downtown was right there - so we saved a fortune in gas/parking. The staff was excellent. Our 1st room did not have a couch or cushioned chairs, only a glass top outdoor table and metal chairs that were Very Uncomfortable and Heavy. There was a large area where there should have been chairs or a couch and also missing the desk and desk chair. Someone must have borrowed everything. Eventually the guys were able to […] find a couch to being in for us to sit on. Had breakfast in the hotel and the table was dirty... and crumbs on all the seats. I dusted off the crumbs and wiped the table down where they missed. Food and service were good; but we did not eat at the Hotel the rest of our stay. We ended up changing rooms the next day and the new room was not very clean... bathroom floor was dirty so when it got wet it made grayish streaks. The toilet was not scrubbed inside. Dirt on the outside of the tub. However, everything else was ok. The hotel is overpriced for the conditions of the rooms and the location is directly across from a vacant building. The transportation trolley was excellent with lots of stops and free... the downtown area is about 1 mile so it is within walking distance, but as you are walking, you will see the area/s you should stay away from. my only complaint was that the room did not have a comfortable chair to sit in. The only chairs were 2 chairs with metal backs and a cushion seat. They were like patio furniture. Having a bad back and needing a comfortable chair was my only problem.

all of the staff were great. the ambiance of the hotel is the fun part. it is rated as a 4-star hotel, and there may be some rooms that are, but i dont think they all are. we very much enjoyed our stay and we walked every inch of the place. it would be smart to review the layout of the hotel before you go because if you stay in Bldg 3, it's a long walk […] to the restuarant or the indoor pool in Bldg 1. This place suffers from deferred maintenance. It appears that the owners are taking everything this facility takes in and have been putting little or nothing back for years. I would suspect they will be out of business within 10 years.

My experience at this hotel was less than average. Nothing impressive. Nothing to draw me back. Room was spacious but could use updating. Toliet was dirty when we arrived so that immediately turned me off. Bed skirts on bed looked dingy. A cheap sheet type covering was provided for a blanket which was not impressive. I don't normally even fill these out but felt I needed to this time. Rooms where big but did not seem very kept up. The food at the main dinning was not fresh at all. We ordered a salad that cost $11 and got lettuce that look like it came from a bag with some sliced meet on it. Expected a fresher salad for the price. Waitress was very nice and a good […] server. She has nothing to do with the quality of the food. We gave it a second chance the next morning at the breakfast buffet. Food was better but service was horrible. We went to Chattanooga with our bicycles to ride on the recreational trails, especially the Riverwalk. The Choo Choo promised us we could leave our bikes on the car, that security was high. They delivered! We constantly saw security guards in our corridor and on the grounds. The shower was great, toilet completely functional, and room clean and spacious. The waterfall makes a soothing background sound.
