"Smelly, Dirty - Don't let the nice lobby fool you!"
When you walk in, you think it's going to be nice... But as soon as you step in the elevator, it stinks! Then you get to your room and the bathroom looked like it had dries blood or something on the wall... The comforter looked like it hadn't been washed... And the room and halls were just as smelly as the elevator. Also, one of the elevators got stuck […] while we were there. Luckily, we weren't the ones in it at the time. Room was just so-so, but parking caused the overall rating to be such that I would never stay here again.

The biggest disappointment was that the advertisement photos show a spa bath but dosnt specify that those are only in certain rooms. The front desk clerks were not friendly at all. We picked a smoking room, but there was no way to open a window or air vent. The room and bathroom was very small. However it is in a great location.

This hotel is very convient to the boardwalk and other downtown areas, however there are a couple of train tracks literally NEXT door to the hotel!!!! They do provide earplugs... Other than that a nice hotel...

"Review of Hotel"
We liked the hotel. The east side has a train going through your room about every fifteen minutes, so next time we will stay on the west side. The room had a food splatter on the upper left side of the AC by the window. If you have long arms you might be able to reach the toilet paper, it was mounted on the wall below the light switch. Solution, take […] the roll off the holder and set it near the sink. The morning breakfast was great as was the service. The front desk service was great. Everything was ready when we arrived. The elevators are too slow and one of them was a little bumpy. Somebody had left a beer bottle in one of the elevators which is a bad thing for children to see as well as a safety hazard. These are little things, but they are important when serving the public. Would we spend the night there again, no we would not. Mehr

The windows were so lacking in maintenance that I couldn't even see the outside. The lobby is small/cramped. The entrance is so close to the exit of I-20 that it is nearly impossible to cross three lanes and avoid traffic merging from other exits.

The bed was hard and the desk clerk in the evening was unfriendly and cold. We spent the night in a room where we had the pleasure of listening to the elevator go up and down and the trains blaring their horns. The only thing redeemable was the breakfast, good variety of food and the staff in the dining room was pleasant and helpful.

Our room was right next to two sets of railroad tracks,it sounded like a train was coming right threw our room.The room was clean and price wasn't too bad for a weekend with Mardi GRAS in town.

The hotel was adequate. Great location. Slightly shabby. Inadequate breakfast--buffet only with bad eggs which costs too much. Clean and comfortable bed. Slightly shabby bathroom.

My husband and I checked in on a Friday afternoon and the front desk staff was friendly. We got to our room and the room had been cleaned, but there were no towels/wash cloths in the bathroom. I called to request towels and was brought some. The next day we left our room at 10:00 a.m. for the day shopping, and when we returned at 3:00 p.m. our room […] had not been serviced at all. No clean towels, bed not made, dirty towels in bathroom, garbage not emptied. Had to call for clean towels again. No service the whole weekend that we were there. Hotel is old and not maintained. Our air conditioner/heater was so noisy that it vibrated the room. The one thing we did enjoy was the shuttle service to and from the casino and the boardwalk. It's in a noisey neighborhood, and i think they had some sort of concert making noise, and any car that passed by you heard it like it was in the room, i have stayed in holiday inn express's all around the united states and have never had a bad experience until now, i think this hotel should lose a star!!!!

The hotel was nice, the staff was nice ,our room was very pretty brown and white ,I could tell it had been updated with new carpet and marble towel in the bathroom, our room was on the front side heard the train once very low volume

I definitely would not recommend this hotel. This was the worst of the worst! It needs to be remodeled. It looked like an "old" Motel 6 hotel that was spruced up with nice bedding. The bathroom was" too" small, no vanity space. Air Conditioner/Heating unit was malfunctioning, it made a roaring noise all night. We had to increase the volume on the TV […] in order to drown out the noise. Parking was terrible. My entire family was totally disappointed. If you like quality, DO NOT STAY HERE!!! Mehr

When booking my room we were suppose to have a room with a good view. The view was a boarded up window very disappointing to say the least. The bathroom was small and could of used a facelift. But other than the lack of the view and small bathroom the room was nice.

My husband and I stayed here and it was ok. The location is great because it is downtown and our room was very clean and bed was very comfortable. I asked for a room with a view and the view was of the roof with all the ac units so that was kinda blah. The breakfast wasn't great though; very plain and it was $20 for our meal without tip. What holiday […] inn doesn't serve continental breakfast? We also were not aware of a festival that was going on one block away so the hotel parking was taken and we had to wait to find one. That was irritating. But the train never bothered us and I never noticed. I would stay here again because of the location and the room was clean. The bed was very comfy too. This hotel was horrible. It started with hateful staff at check-in. The room looked and smelled dirty. There were stains on the walls and ceiling. The worst part was the trains that sounded like they were coming right through the building. The train tracks were so close, I had to look straight down from a 3rd story window to see them. We only stayed one night but it was an amazing night! We checked in right on time and went to the room and the bed was amazing!! Oh My gosh best hotel bed and pillows ever! The hotel workers were so nice to us and we had an awesome breakfast in bed! The elevators were very slow. We were about 5 minutes from the boardwalk and the casino's, thats what […] we loved! When we first arrived, the check-in person was a bit rude and curtly informed us that we could not check in until 3:00 (it was about 2:00). The next check-in person was very nice and took care of us right away. The pillows are like rocks - way too hard. Luckily I brought my how. Not much available in the way of shampoo/conditioner. The area in general needs an upgrade...so it may not be this hotel's fault. For what we paid I would have expected a little bit better. AC unit was extremely loud, bed very hard, pillows were nice but too small for the bed, also the room given to us was tiny...I do not know if they put the Hotels.com customers in the crappy rooms but there was definitely […] a difference in our room and other king rooms in this hotel. We spent 2 days here on business. The hotel was very conveniently located; close to downtown S-port, easy fwy access. Rooms were average. AC was loud and there was a cigarette burn on the toilet seat which was less than attractive. Hotel staff was brusque but efficient. Stay away from the $10 (w/ tax,) breakfast buffet. This was more like a 1 or maybe a 2 star hotel. The remodel was done very poorly! Pain on the white ceiling Bathroom was very outdated and small. No place to set anything with out it falling in the toilet. The elevator was not working, so we had to climb down the stars from the 5 floor, then back up after a overpriced cheaply done breakfest. We paid […] extra a person for the breakfest, it was sooo not worth it. The food was old overcooked or undercooked. Powered eggs? "Great stay for Train lovers"
When staying here you had a 50 /50 chance of getting a loud room or a louder room. One side of the hotel faced a very busy and noisy on ramp where you were subjected to big rigs and other oud traffice getting on and off the freeway all night long. On the other side you are but a stones throw away from a very active train route. So, several times during […] the night you are woken by the loud train blast as it approaches the intersection not far from the hotel then followed by the loud clickedy clack of the train as it passes for the next 20 min. If you are a light sleeper as I am I would not recommend this hotel. Mehr
