we were given a room that had a leaking air conditioner unit on the roof...the leak soaked the bed and according to the maintenace personel should never have been occupied...upon contacting the front desk we were given free breakfasts and a refund on the room rate. Room was outdated and not very clean. Air conditioner and neighboring shower was incredibly loud. I wasn't able to get any sleep.

The employees went above and beyond. They were helpful, courteous, and friendly.

Desk clerk very friendly. Was able to check in 3 hours early and she gave us drink coupons when I told her we were celebrating our anniversary. Pool nice. Bar service ok (slow, but bartender did give me a free different drink when I told her I did not like the beer on tap) Breakfast service poor and food selection very poor. Every other HI with a buffet […] you can take the food back to your room and come back if you want. Signs everywhere at this one saying could not take food out of restaurant. Poor attitude of server when I asked for cranberry juice and then 1 refill. Food very bland and very little selection (they charge $10 for this if you don't stay at the hotel). Mehr

We were staying at the holiday inn because it was only 9. Miles to the sprint center and had a pool. The staff was friendly and helpfull. When we went to bed the pillows were so small and the bed hurt our backs. Then at like 2-3 in the morning there were people leaving the bar across the road and they kept playing and revving there load motorcycles […] for several hours and we couldn't sleep very well at all. We really wanted to swim but didn't get to because they closed it down at 10. Mehr

They need a bigger sign. Had trouble finding it when we got off the by pass.

Most everything was wonderful...only problems we had were upon checking in and being told room hadn't been paid for...I had to bring up my confirmation email on my phone to prove it and then they accepted that and looked into it and fixed it. Also called to get a new iron because the one we had was faulty and the person bringing the new one argued with […] me that it was supposed to work that way. So glad she agreed to leave the new iron because it worked like it should. Mehr

Our stay at this hotel was very enjoyable! The bed was so comfortable and cozy, the pool and spa area was spacious and very well maintained and the staff was extremely nice. Our room looked onto the pool area, so that was really awesome! We will definitely stay here again the next time we are in KC. It is very convenient to the casinos, restaurants […] and everything else we wanted nearby. Mehr

I had a hard time sleeping. Once night the heater kicked on and off all night and was very noisy. I woke up everytime. The next night I shut it off but woke up because I was cold. Another night someone's car alarm went off right out side my window, twice in one night. I was attending a seminar with a provided lunch. Most days were fine, except the last […] day I ordered off the "menu". Me and a friend ordered a cheeseburger. Our food was not ready yet because the burgers were burnt. The next time the food came it was way under cooked (still cold in the center). The waitress admitted to giving the most under cooked one to me because I came in after the other guy (she chould see a soggy portion of the bun due to the red juice coming from the undercooked meat, but gave it to me anyway instead of taking it back to get a decent burger). I ate breakfast each morning which was not terrible. The place overall had a nice atmosphere and a nice pool, large hot tub, nice business center and fitness room. The service people were friendly. Our room was large, clean and quiet. Very close to Worlds of Fun in Kansas City. Good breakfast and the staff was excellent. Excellent swimming pool area!!

The hotel was very nice with friendly employees. Room was great with comfortable beds. The check-in time was the only negative for the entire stay. We waited more than 20 minutes to be helped. It was a long drive in and we were tired and ready for bed to get some sleep before the long day ahead of us.

The location was quiet and the frond desk personnel were exceptionally friendly and helpful.

Was very nice right by highway. Waffle house right Next to it. Super cool old school diner. Only thing Was slow check out.

My biggest complaint is the bathroom tub and shower was gringy. There was rust where the floor attaches to the wall near the toilet. The room was warm and would not get cool. The location and free shuttle to Worlds of Fun was fantastic. The inside part of the hotel was neat looking. It had plants, a pool and a bar.

The staff @ this hotel were friendly, helpful & very courteous! It was a fantastic stay! Plan to book rooms there in the future!

Obviously an older property, but very nicely redone. Lobby and common area are beautiful. Desk help was very nice as well as any employee I interacted with. Room was decorated nicely, bathroom possibly a little small but its from that era.

This hotel was average. Probably will not stay here again. Breakfast was average and expensive. Pool area was usually crowded. No real resturants or shopping in the near vicinity. Okay if needed for Worlds or fun/Ocean of fun. Room with two doulbe bed on the small side.

Very close to Worlds of Fun which makes nice for short drive. The bar closed at 10 which was a little dissapointing and the 12 dollar breakfast was a little to much for what you get but OVERALL and clean hotel with a nice pool.

We arrived at the hotel, checked in, got our key, and went to our room. We opened the door to find a dog barking, the t.v. on, and someones stuff everywhere. I closed the door quickly and went to the front desk. Already aggrevated, I told the lady at the desk what happened, only to get an attitude from her like I did something wrong. After thirty minutes […] or so, we got everything corrected and got a new room. After finally being able to get cleaned up to go out for dinner, I grabbed the door knob to open the door and it fell off. We were stuck in our room for an hour waiting for someone to come let us out and replace the door knob. It was a very unpleasant stay. Mehr

The Staff were nice and they were quick to fix my door that would not lock. nice buffet for the price. but the AC unit sounded like I was next to the air port..going off every 15 mins. kept us up half the night.

We had a great time with our family of young children. This hotel is somwhat dated, but, it serves it's purpose being located 1/2 mile from entrance to World's of Fun. Gave us quick access to our room from the park, and the kids had a blast.

This hotel for the cost is the best one closest to Worlds of Fun. We stayed 2 nights and the first night was not so good. We had an air conditioner that was having trouble shutting off and every time it would try to shut off it was sparking, so I didn't get much sleep that first night for fear of the place starting on fire. I asked to be moved the next […] night and they did all they could to find me a room. We ended up in a king that was just fine. Over all this hotel is good for the cost and has a shuttle that will run you over to Worlds of Fun at no cost. And to park your car there is $10. They will also run you to the Ameristar Casino or other eating places within a 5 mile radius. So, I would recommend this hotel to others. Just check your air conditioner right away when you check in. The service & room was great! The hot tub and pool were nice. There was long dark hair on the bathroom floor, and I'm a blonde... but I would recommend this hotel.

Although the pool and hot tub area was spacious and nice, the room seemed small and unequiped for a hotel in this price range. We were disappointed that there was no refrigerator. There were ice machines, so if you have a cooler, you'd be fine. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the shuttle offered to anywhere within a 5 mile radius will save […] you the money you would have spent paying for parking at either of the parks. Mehr

This hotel was clean, extremely helpful staff, great rate, CLOSE to Worlds of Fun, 8 minutes to Arrowhead and Kauffman stadiums nice indoor swimming pool, very family friendly, pricey hotel meals but close to Waffle house and other eateries, gas stations and I435. Would stay again.

The common areas - lobby, pool deck, dining and bar were clean and spacious. They look exactly like show on hotel.com. Unfortunately the rooms themselves are showing age. Our room was small with a very loud AC blower, swollen bathroom door (tough to close), uncomfortable mattress, and faulty TV remote. My kids didn't mind as we've never stayed at fancy […] hotels, but I wouldn't take a business associate there. If location near Worlds of Fun is important to you, then you can't get much closer. The rooms were clean and the beds and pillows were very comfortable. The staff at front desk and in restaurant were very friendly and helpful. Food was great- loved the breakfast buffet - good food and a buffet makes breakfast fast as we were there as tourists and left early in the mornings. The Holiday Inn was great for not only my grandchildren but also easy to get around in a wheelchair. I made the reservations through motels.com and they messed it all up. Thank goodness the people at the Holiday Inn worked with us and made us quite comfortable.

This hotel was overall nice, however, I was noticing my ick-factor scale registering a little with the room floors & the top bed covering. The bathroom floor had an old bobby pin by the toilet & the floor didn't seem too clean-a candy wrapper by the chair, another bobby pin by the tv, there was mold in the shower & the top bed cover on one of our beds […] had a mysterious white crusty stain under it (gag) when I flipped it off for my kiddos to sleep (sorry-gag again). The hotel room smelled nice & was generally clean however. We left for the day (we stayed two nights) & came back to a spruced up room....bobby pin was in a different place on the bathroom floor & the bed covering still had the....mystery stain =/. The bed sheets were changed & smelled clean however. So we just put the nasty bed cover on the floor & made the best of the situation. The pool was nice, hot tub awesome, & game room was fun for my kiddos. The decor of the pool area was very enjoyable. The "restaurant" was a glorified self serve buffet with typical cook fast over priced bland food-but my kids ate free, so that is a plus. Coffee was bad...really bad- five creamers & four sugar packets later I gulped it down because I'm too cheap not to drink a $2 mug of coffee.. My only issue that I would actually warn my friends with kids about is that there is drinking allowed in the pool area...a lot of drinking. We left when it got to be bedtime, but the noise didn't die down until after 10:30, even though the pool closes at ten. Beds were comfy, typical over priced room service, but overall, we had a nice time & the hotel staff was very friendly & nice. Would probably stay again as long as they let me check the bathroom floor & flip the bed overings down first ;) Mehr

Overnight stay for back-to-college trip. The room was clean and everything worked. We chose the location because it was in a convenient spot for us. The rate was very good (off season for Wallyworld). The hotel staff were very accommodating. The pool and spa were incredible--they were warm and hot despite a very cold night and lots of people coming […] and going. This was one of those stays where everything was much better than expected. Nice location if you are going to Worlds of Fun, but it's the people I was impressed with. Great staff!

Was a little disappointed in that we had to use the sofa sleeper and there were no blankets. Called in to guest service requesting additional pillows and blankets and they were out of pillows and they couldn't bring the blankets for 15 minutes also I offered to go them and they said they couldn't leave the front desk to retrieve some. So fell asleep […] waiting and the blankets never came so we slept with out one. Mehr

Awesome stay my family enjoyed the comfortable beds the nice pool, great breakfast and very convienent shuttle service. Worlds of fun and Oceans of fun were only 3 mins aways. Will stay here next time we are in town

The employees of the hotel were extremely helpful and great to work with us. The only few complaints we had were taken care of quickly. We didn't have enough pillows but the hotel was full so we couldn't get any more. Our pull out sofa bed had dirty sheets on it (you could see the dirt and hair on the mattress cover) but it was replaced promptly. This hotel is in a great location no matter if you are planning a trip to Worlds of Fun or the casino's you are in a great spot. The hotel was a little dirty as it was going through renovations but the staff was very friendly and are willing to get things done immediately.

The hotel it self was good, but the service at the bar was the worst ever, I had to repeat the order 4 times, wait 10 minutes and they didn't have enough to make the drink I wanted and if that wasn't enough they were really rude and mean about everything.
