Shuttle-Service macht die etwas dezentrale Lage wett. Jedenfalls empfehlenswertes Hotel.

Eine junge unfreundliche Frau hat gesagt das wir nach 2.5 Stunden nochmals kommen sollen da das Zimmer nicht fertig ist. Wir haben uns nach einer sehr langen Fahrt in der Garage (gratis parken) umgezogen. Ca 15 Minuten, es war sehr heiss. Als wir dann nochmals zur Rezeption gingen um einen jungen freundlichen Mann zu fragen ob das Zimmer fertig ist, […] sagte er ja, also konnten wir auf unser Zimmer. Er hat uns sehr gute Tipps für unseren Aufenthalt in Portland gegeben, gratis Konzert und vieles mehr. War Spitze gewesen. Unser schönes grosses Zimmer 806, Blick zur Bucht war modern eingerichtet, King-Bett, Flachbildfernseher war sehr gross, Kühlschrank, zum selbst gebrauch, Mikrowelle, Kaffeemaschine, Tresor. Das Bad hat eine angenehme Grösse und es ist alles schön sauber, zum wohlfühlen. Das Hotel liegt zentral und man kann vieles zu Fuss erreichen. Schöne Restaurants und Bars für jeden etwas dabei. was a faily nice place. Parkiing garage underneath w/ easy access. Rooms were nice, and had larger than expected TV's. Close to the State Theater and Civic Center. Would stay there again when in town for a show!

The view of the harbor was lovely. Parking was a snap. The elevator for the hotel was right there.The entry way was.clean and well decorated. The updated room had a microwave, refrigerator, huge television. It was very quiet and clean. I loved the marble sink from Blue HIll, Maine. The beds were very comfortable with hard and soft pillows. This is a great place to stay if you're visiting Portland. It is not directly in the Downtown, but is within a very easy walk or they have a shuttle which will drop you off at the door of your desination, which was a nice& unexpected surprise. They also have free parking which is hard to find in the area. Overall this was great value for the three nights […] we stayed and was close to everything we needed, so I woul ddefinitely recommend the hotel. Mehr

We stayed at the By the Bay Holiday Inn for the first time last weekend and loved it. It was a short, three-block walk to the Old Port shops and across the street from the Art Museum. The staff was friendly and helpful, and permitted us to leave our car in the hotel lot after checking out for several hours while we visited the museum. Very clean rooms, conveneant to the waterfront. Room was very comfortable.Parking at the garage at hotel is great since you can walk to everything.

If two persons are sharing a room and one arrives before the other, it should be possible for that person to check in even if the reservation's credit card is in the other person's name. You can take both names when the reservation is made. Forcing a customer to wait in the lobby because the other person is delayed is absurd.

The Portland Museum of Art is literally stone throw away. The Cumberland County Civic center is on the same block. The Old Port is 2 blocks away. The room was spacious with a great view of the river and the docks. We'll be back!

Terrific hotel, clean, comfortable, convenient, and friendly. It's the best Holiday Inn I've ever stayed at.

helpful people, nice clean rooms, a little expensive, should offer free breakfast, free coffee all the time is nice. Shuttle was great, drivers nice, very convenient, and free.

We were just staying in Portland overnight, but after checking in we wished it could've been longer. Very nice and close to all we wanted to see and do. There was a refrigerator in our room that I don't think had been listed in the amenities--always a plus with us. Also loved the pool and free parking. Will definitely stay there again.

Good spot, good service ,decent room

Decent Hotel, clean & friendly staff. Smells like cigarette smoke even on non smoking floors. Otherwise the view and accomodations on the 10th floor overlooking the Bay were nice.

Stayed over night for a local event. Close to everything, plenty of parking plus a great deal

If you want a decent room at a reasonable rate that is accessible to the downtown Portland area then this is the place to go. It is well run and friendly (like all of Portland) and the only hotel downtown that has free parking for guests. Nice pool, too,

We stayed one night in a King Bayview Room. Very spacious, comfortable and clean. Wonderful view, especially at night. Breakfast was good. Staff were friendly and helpful. Free parking was a plus.

Good price and location. Friendly and helpful staff. Good-sized room and bathroom. Comfortable bed. Great in room coffee, refrigerator, and microwave. Large flat-screen TV. Within walking distance of great restaurants.

Really helpful staff. Nice enough accommodations and within walking distance to the downtown shopping area.

Nice hotel, perched up on a hill in the downtown area. Staff is very nice and helpful. It's close to the art museum and the civic center, but a longer walk into the main area where most other things are located.

I stayed on the top floor overlooking the harbor/bay area. The morning view with the sun coming up was spectacular and since I love New England I could also see the light from the Cape Elizabeth lighthouse. The location is easy walking distance to the Old Port area with fun shops and restaurants. Front desk was super nice and welcomed me and thanked […] me for my stay. Free parking was a great advantage as other hotels charge in the neighborhood. This was my first trip to Portland and I want to go back and stay here again. Mehr

Well positioned for easy walking to the old city Portland. Car park excellent. Plenty lifts to all floors. We had one with a seaview and it was lovely.

Stayed here for one night on a recent trip to New England. Room, pool and bar were all great - didn't try the restaurant though. Easy walk from the hotel to downtown Portland. Free underground car parking for residents and we were able to leave our car there until 4pm on the day we checked out was was handy. I was a little worried that it wouldnt be within walking distance to where are the bars/restaurants are located and I was very wrong. I researched every hotel and this one was the only one that included free parking in this price range. The staff helped us changed rooms (we'd booked a 2 bed bc there werent other options but really wanted a 1 bed). The […] staff is polite, the amenities (pool, etc) are great ! Close enough to walk everywhere. They COULD upgrade the place just a little (decor-wise) however, if I went back, that wouldnt deter me from staying there again. Beautiful hotel within easy walking distance of the historic downtown and waterfront for restaurants shops and bars. Free parking at the hotel and friendly service from all the staff. Only complaint was the in-room safe was already locked so we could not use it.

This hotel is not conveniently located. It sounded a if wa close o downtown bu it was. Hike. Breakfast was good nd staff in breakfast room was good. Otherwise ar w quite sad.

The shuttle driver was really friendly and recommended a great lobster dinner at Gilbert's. The hotel was clean and better than I expected from a Holiday Inn.

Hotel appears to be going thru a much needed renovation as our room was updated and much more appealing. Ask for a room overlooking the water. Location is superb for the price. Would recommend.

You get alot for your money, free parking, free internet, Free coffee in your room and in the lobby. Much closer to Old Port than I thought it would be. Courtsey van took me and picked me up from the Urgent care at the medical center.

This hotel was great - very comfortable room, pleasant staff, and a good location close to the water.

Clean and a convenient location to several great restaurants. Beverages (lemonade and coffee) available all day by the registration desk. Keurig machine available in the hotel room. There is an indoor swimming pool, and a gym, but we were more focused on packing on the pounds at the great eats in Portland than we were in getting rid of it. We had an […] infant with us, and they were able to provide us a crib as well as a refrigerator without any problems. Garage parking is free, and we were able to walk to all our destinations for our 3 night stay. My only complaint is having to climb that small hill to return to the hotel. The hotel isn't fancy, but it's got all we need to have a relaxing family vacation. Mehr
