The extra lock on the door, the one that swings, was broken off. The toilet stopped working on the morning we were checking out and it flushed really slowly before that. We were excited to be right outside the ice machine area as the sign for it and the notch in the hallway were right across the hall except there were no ice machine or vending machines. […] We tried to follow the map they gave us to the next nearest one and couldn't find it either. Sold to Wyndham and made a Days Inn. Landscape and pool: Nice and in good shape Rooms: need a lot of help. Beds and pillows suck. Air conditioner very noisy (always on, with or without the compressor on). Phone did not work (in fact they moved us because the phone didn't work in the first unit). Breakfast: Good but different. They actually cook scrambled eggs and bacon/sausage and they were good but no water (hot or cold) No toast, bagels etc (no toaster either) and I hope you like Cheerios because that is your only choice (that and kids multi colored sugared Cheerios). 3 night stay. First morning, no soap in the room. Couldn't get soap at the front desk for an hour because housekeeping wasn't in yet. Second day, room made up, but left no towels. Good location very close to DT New Orleans via the Algiers ferry (there is a free shuttle to the ferry) and is significantly chaper than staying DT New Orleans but is still close.

We found a bug in our bed, and when we took a shower the water builded up in the tub and took forever to go out. And when one of our party returned on the ferry it took an hour for her to be picked up, on the up side the staff was super nice, but that didn't make up for the bad. So you rate a 2 out of 5

With most everything under $200 a night in the Quarter booked, the Hotels.com phone rep recommended this Quality Inn. I wish he hadn't. It was way understaffed and very booked. One person on check in, the line to the door, and hardly any parking since people who stay here before going on cruises like to leave their cars in the lot while they vacation. […] We had no hot water. Our reserved room was still dirty at 8pm, so we got yo pay the same price for a smaller smoking room. At checkout, two separate guests were complaining that they had stayed up into the night making repeat calls for maintenance people that never arrived. Older hotel that hasn't been refreshed in a while. Staff were nice. Complementary breakfast was nice and nice eating area. However, the exact same breakfast every day with salty scrambled eggs and sausage, little fruit, often out of coffee, no toast or bagels. Very limited selection. First, the people were very pleasant and professional. The condition of the stay wasn't so great, however. Upon checking in, saw towels (assuming they were used) in the bath tub, trash still in the bin (from the previous guest). But the worst was the blanket/comforter. I didn't get one. There was a sheet and the half-size spread (whatever that is called) […] they lay at the bottom of the bed to make it nice and pretty, but no comforter. This hotel was worse than the seediiest Motel 6 in Los Angeles! There were paint spills on the carpet, dirt and splattered apaint all over the furniture, our phone was pulled out of the wall and laying on the floor and no blankets on the bed! My husband eventually hunted one down at the maintenance closet downstairs that was, of course, unlocked. Then […] halfway through the night, the heater went off! We would have checked out but we were attending a convention and this was one of the only hotels left in the area that wasn't full, and we now know why! The next morning we told them our concerns. We were assured the heater would be fixed. Returned that night and it was still broken. Used our cell phone to call the front desk since the phone was still ripped out from the wall. Clerk told us she'd tell the manager in the morning. Of course, the next morning the new front clerk knew nothing about what we were talking about, Upon checking out I, again,asked to speak to the manager but was told she was in a meeting (probably hiding) but she would call to discuss my stay. I still have not received a call from anyone at god awful hotel. I would stay as far away from this hotel as you can!!!! Mehr

To say this experience was bad would be to give praise to this hotel. I checked in around 8a. Took me about 30 mins to get checked in, standing in line. There were people behind the desk ( about 4 ), but only 1 person who was checking people in. And she was as slow as molasses. Then i went to the restaurant. Took another 1.5 hours to get a plate of […] nachoes and a glass of water. The nachos were disgusting. I'm surprised I didn't get food poisioning from that. The waitstaff ( being generous with the term ) were slow and apathetic. Onto the room. This place has exterior hallways. I got into the room and the carpet was filthy. stains everywhere. It's a very old motel and needs tons of maintaince ( which was not done ). Furniture and chairs had tons of stains. At least the internet worked. The heater/AC unit was super old and had a bad smell, so I didn't use it. Toilet would run all the time and evenutally leaked onto the floor. The shower had a drainage problem. Seriously, the carpet was so dirty here. The sheets were paper thin, so I was pretty cold that night. Eventually, i had to move to a different hotel, i could not stay in this ----hole any more. In addition, I was here for a conference, so cab fares back and forth were an extra twenty every way. Limited cabs in this area and the cabbies that did come were extremely rude. Breakfast was mediocre. There is nothing to walk to, so you are stuck at the disgusting resturant, or ordering for pizza delivery. Mehr

lights, phone and television didn't work when we got there, they were able to repair some after multiple requests. cover plates not even on the outlets, carpet old and dirty. front desk people were nice but since hotel is 10-25 minutes from french quarter and they were not able to get us a taxi at our requested time (not even close, waits were averaging […] 30 minutes after our time stated). the hotel bar closed after dinner ??? breakfast not worth mentioning I would never stay in a quality inn again. Grimiest, dirtiest hotel I've ever stayed. The old cemetary is clean by comparison to this dump. It should be put out of its misery. The staff attitude matches the run down nature of the property. Everyone was apathetic, and unattentive bordering on rude. It's like they're doing time at this hotel. Hate to think what a blue light would reveal from the […] rooms in this filthy place. I literally called the front desk to inquire about the multiple stains on the walls and they hung up on me! Stay away from this health hazard! I had no choice but to spend the night and rush the heck out of there the next morning. Had I i not been in a city I've never been before, I would have taken my chances sleeping in the car! We stayed for 4 nights at Quality Inn for the New Years holiday. Although the hotel room was indeed clean, one of the most important qualities, the service and attitude of the entire staff was unacceptable. They were incredibly unprofessional, rude and inattentive. We continued to have cleaners either come at different time (as late as 8pm!!) or not […] at all. We had staff come to our room twice in the morning asking if we were checking out. We also received a call from the hotel manager telling us that we didnt pay for our stay, although we haddone it through hotels.com. Fortunately, it was able to be resolved. Still, at one point, my boyfriend lost his phone in the hotel shuttle and the hotel reception was so unhelpful they refued to call the shuttle driver. Besides that, the location is okay if you dont mind taking a taxi past 9pm and if service and amentities are not important to you. The breakfast was only available until 9am, what a rip off. Mehr

Our stay was just before New Years. Apparently part of their parking lot was rented out to a fireworks seller and fireworks were demonstrated late at night. Hearing the noise I thought it was gun shots. Not good. People running the place seemed not to care and would not give you a straight answer. Phone did not work and there was no shower curtain. […] After requesting a shower curtain that night still not one. Requested one the next day and finally got it. Trash can was not emptied and coffee was not replaced for second or third day. I found a cleaning rag on my suit case. They did not give us a definite answer to when the shuttle ran. Trying to get back to the hotel on the shuttle we called 3 times the shuttle finally showed up a hour later. Not a good experience. The continental breakfast was NOT good. The food tasted terrible (really not sure what the food was) and if something ran out there was no hurry in replacing it. I know we will NOT stay here again. Mehr

I've stayed here several times when the WestBank was an option for a New Orleans trip but hadn't dealt with a big crowd of cruise-ship passengers before. Apparently, the hotel has a program called "Park-n-Cruise" where you can leave your vehicle on the property and they shuttle you to the terminal. Seemed to be a lot of folks taking advantage of that. […] Complimentary weekend breakfast buffet is always good. Pros: -Cheap (especially when compared to staying in the city itself) -Hotel offers complimentary shuttle to a free ferry to cross the river into downtown. I thought this would be a long trip, but the (Algier) ferry offers a pretty nice view of the city and makes for a pleasant commute. I thought it added a nice touch. Gretna ferry is a 3/4 mile walk […] if the shuttle is down. Cons: -Breakfast wasn't the greatest. Constantly ran out of coffee, no tea - the bare basics here -The hours of operation of the ferry are not conducive to a late night (or very early morning). I was here at a conference, so it didn't really affect me, but if I come back and plan on drinking in the city, then I'd need to take an (expensive) taxi back (>$20) -Taxi service from MSY to the hotel was AWFUL. $50 one way (without tip - $33 from MSY to downtown). Can't really blame the hotel for poor taxi services in the city. I figured out how to work the public transit system and rode back for $2. -There isn't much to do or see in the immediate area. You'll need a car, taxi, or ferry to get to most points of interest. Overall, the place was acceptable. Some loud noises occasionally from guests. Room was cleaned every day. My door faced a parking lot, which was annoying at times. It was good for a budget trip. I saw complaints of humidity - yes, the entire state of LA (including this hotel) is humid. The room was fine though. I would hesitantly recommend. Mehr

The room looked nothing like the pictures on the website - very small, dark and smelled like mold and mildew. The people at the front desk where very unfriendly - in fact an older man was down right rude. The Hotel was hard to find because it was on a one-way street.

Overall the hotel was just okay. The good things about it were: its proximity to New Orleans sightseeing (its about a 5-10 drive to the Algiers Point Ferry.......well worth it), the price was not bad, the nightly manager's special was good (Happy Hour prices for drinks/half-price appetizers), the service was pretty good......friendly staff. The bad […] things: the pool was never operating the entire time......if I'd had my kids with me, I would have been upset, and there was no explanation/signs.......the first morning I was there breakfast was not served until after 7am (supposed to be served at 530am on weekdays......I think someone forgot.....again no explanation though), my final day in town the water was turned off in the hotel for several hours (6-7 hours) for hotel maintenence.....at least signs were posted on the doors this time. I would probably stay here again but I might look elsewhere for other options. Mehr

We arrived early room wasn't ready yet. Needed to get in touch with our family but don't have a cell phone, so Cindy at the front desk was nice enough to let us use her's Thank you Cindy! When we returned, still early,our room was ready so Cindy checked us in. The room had recently been updated and we could see the staff updating other rooms during […] our three day stay. The bed was comfortable but being a king it made the room a little cramped with two night stands and a desk in the room too. There was plenty of drawer space, lighting and hangers and the fridge worked well while we never used the coffee maker it was there with supplies. The TV was a flat screen but the sleep button on the remote didn't work. The shower floor could be slippery and I only remember seeing a mat like towel the first day wo were sure to keed a towel on the floor. Housekeeping was helpful but could have used more than one of the larger towels each day. Breakfast was cereal, your standard danish, scrambled eggs, sausage patty, biscuits, & juices & included in the price so really not a bad deal but I would have enjoyed some yogurt & fruits as an option. We did sit by the pool one afternoon but it was too hot outside and the water temp was not very refereshing, it also looked to be turning a little green. Overall the price was good, the location worked for our needs and we were satisfied and would recommended this hotel to others visiting the NO area. Mehr

This was our first trip to new Orleans. When we arrived the lobby area was nice but ours rooms were very cheap looking. We had 2 adjoing rooms and its was clear that the maid had done a minimal job. One room had no bath towels and one had no shower curtain. The humidity was so high in the room that condensation had formed on the bathroom ceiling and […] was dripping. The Kleenex box was empty, not a big deal but theses little things indicated a lack of overall concern. We had to keep the thermostat on 65 to keep the humidity in our room down and even still everything felt damp. The property itself is obviously old and some one has down a quick fix me up. With that being said after seeing the rest of the area I now feel like this is the average hotel you can expect unless you want to stay at a much more expensive hotel and they are all in areas that when we were walking around we found to be rather disgusting (feces on the sidewalk was a common occurrence). We can now say we've been there and done that, but the city overall was a disappointment. Mehr

I stayed here during a weekend for a business trip. When I arrived to my room the first thing I noticed was a foul smell. Then, the microwave I pre-requested was not in room. When I received the microwave it was dirty with food stains. The refrigerator was also dirty. The throw cover on the bed had stains. The sink and shower area was not properly cleaned. […] I went over to Biglots and purshased disinfectant wipes and airfreshner. I felt a little better about my stay after cleaning and spraying the airfreshner. When I pulled back the sheets to get into bed a spider came from under the covers. The sheets also felt very itchy. The next morning there was a huge dead cockroach on the bathroom floor. Some good things, Wifi, free parking, hot breakfast, cable tv. Mehr

The room was very clean, location was good because we were close to the attractions we wanted to see, everyone for the desk clerks to maintenance where very nice and helpful. We ate breakfast there every morning and it is a buffet breakfast, not just cereal. Would recommend this hotel to any of my friends.

Very nice staff!! Rooms leave something to be desired. For starters cheap hotels do not need to be old and sad looking. This hotel has great beds but the bed headboards are old and ugly. The rooms need painting and the bathrooms need to be cleaned / scrubbed so there is no mold. Our room faced the street and around 6:00 in the morning a truck came to empty a dumpster waking us up. Room was ok. The courtyard by the pool looked nice. Maybe would have had a better stay if room faced the courtyard.
