Clarion Hotel Midway Airport - Chicago

Stayed for the night to be close to Midway while allowing me to leave my auto for an extended period while I travel. The hotel was more than adequate for the purpose of my stay.

I was really impresses with the hotel restaurant staff. They were friendly, courteus and very professional. I had the opportunity to dine there in the evening as well as breakfast meals and both were fantastic. I enjoyed the staff, but what really stood out were the individual's that waited my table. Good choice for access to Midway airport. Good price. Carpet worn out in places. Food not great. Older hotel smell. Staff was nice (changed my $50 bill). Clean. Internet service was off/on but overall worked out.

Stayed here before flying out of Midway. Very friendly at desk. Room service dinner was fine. I rented a car, so I didn't make use of the shuttle. Note that there is no gas station on the road between the hotel and the airport. I saw one off of right turn at a road before the airport, but I missed it and had to find one past the airport.

Stayed for a short stint in Chicago and hotel was exactly what I expected. Clean, no thrills and safe.

This place is barely a 2 star hotel... Nothing near a 3 star... The place was dirty, and old. This place is in dire need of a renovation, or to just be torn down and rebuilt...

Yelling up and down the halls all night til after 4am called desk several times, was told nothing they can do about it.

Good shuttle for airport, only problem, had a room next to the sales office, and had people in the room talking, and could hear every word they said. I won't stay there again.

it was pleasant for the price

This is my second stay at Clarion Midway ... I think this will be my hotel until I move. I like the location from the airport. I just wish the cleaning crew didn't come so early! I'll be back!

Since I was meeting a friend coming in at Midway, and being able to shop at the mall right next door, and eat at an IHOP, also right next door in that mall... Everything to make that weekend easy and fun was close at hand. Plus I had to remind myself where I was when I woke up each morning, because the bed was firm, like my own bed at home, so I was […] very comfortable. Mehr

The location wasn't nearly as great as I'd hoped, but that's not a big deal in the slightest. It's on the outskirts of the city, but it's within very easy access of the Midway terminal station, which brings you right into town. There isn't much in this particular area that's fun to do, but that's why we take the train into Chicago! My only complaint […] is in the shuttle drive. The driver takes forever to come by to pick you up from the station and bring you back to the hotel. Took over 45 minutes, even though the hotel is only 15 minutes away. Everything else was very nice, the rooms were clean, and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. If I had to go back to Chicago, I would easily choose to stay here again. Mehr

I was pleasantly surprised. This is a great place to stay if you are visiting the city of Chicago. I will definitely stay here again.

Check-in was a breeze, room was great and we loved the pillows. Close to the aiport and a good rate per night.

we had to stay a week due to a death in the family. there are no small refrigerators in the rooms. my sister asked for a suite; she was given a room with 2 beds. the hotel is ok if you are staying a couple of days on business & are out all day. for a longer stay it is not that comfortable.

To begin the hotel was not in the best of areas. Our "first" room had a dirty mattress and a dirty comforter with hairs on it. The "second" room they offered me had someone already checked in to it!!! The "third" room had hairs and stain all over the comforters!!! They then try to offer me a "fourth" and by this time I was over it!!! I checked within […] an hour of checking in!!!! But Hotels.com was great in refunding and helping with a nicer hotel in the area!!! Mehr

We found this hotel to pee convenient an affordable for an overnight airport stay. It's pretty much met our expectations. The hotel was a little bit run down , but it was clean and convenient.

Great beds, and I'm very picky! Room was very clean, a/c - heat worked great, staff was very friendly. The only bad thing I could complain about was a whiny shower head but overall a good hotel.

The entire staff was friendly and courteous. I had a breakfast and a dinner meal in the hotel restaurant and the food was excellent. Shuttle driver was professional,outgoing ,friendly and helpful. This was my first stay in Chicago and if I ever returned I would definitely stay here. Will also recommend to others.

The only issues I had with this hotel was the strange heating system (I would put it on 77 and the heat would come on, but then kick off allowing the room to get cool again) and the water pressure in the shower. Other than that, it was a great experience. Kudos to the shuttle drivers .. all of them were GREAT!

Very comfortable! Really soft pillows!

The hotel was actually better than expected for the price paid. We had a corner unit, that appeared to be a business unit, that was very spacious. The downside..there was a loud machine like noise extremely early in the morning and we did find a used dirty sock under the bed that did not belong to us.

Hotel shuttle promptly picked me up from the airport late at night, and the friendly driver took me back a couple hours later to pick up my bag that came on on a different plane. Room was clean and comfortable. Mattress was great.

Although my stay at the hotel was ok, the service was not very good. First, the hotel does not provide microwaves to the guess to reheat food that had been previously purchased through a resturaunt. I had to throw away a pizza because of it. The customer service could have been better.

Very clean and well maintained. Restaurant service and food excellent. Would recommend it to others and would stay there again

Excellent! Price was good, employees friendly, only down side was during the morning around 10 am, houskeeping knocked at door to see if we were still in room, otherwise nice stay.

The hotel was clean and comfortable. Although the room was drafty. There was a dirty wash cloth left behind hanging on the shower curtain in the bathroom. Also upon arriving there were two individuals at the check in counter, one was assisting a customer the other was busy texting. The young woman who checked me in failed to tell me how to access the […] free wi-fi. They could have been a little more customer friendly. Other than that the hotel was a nice place to stay. Very nice and reasonable hotel close to airport. Very good shuttle service. Nice and reasonable restaurant inside the hotel save hassle to go out and eat speacially if you have missed your flight and come here tired ( My case :) ).

Shuttle runs every 30 minutes 24 hours/day. Very convenient for getting to Midway Airport or the orange line subway to downtown Chicago.

This hotel seems to be being upgraded and has recently had a name change from something like Midway Airport Hotel. It is not far beyond some quite overpriced Marriott and other hotels, but still reasonably close to Midway Airport. The shuttle leaves on the hour and half hour, so there is not a great wait or long trip to get to or from Midway. Walking […] into the hotel is a fairly normal experience, elevators worked and the hallways looked about normal, but I'd say that the room looked a bit below average due to the "you have to be kidding" bad carpet. It is old, ugly and has to be next on the list to upgrade. I'm guessing this will not be an issue for very long, as it appeared that they are doing other upgrades with the walls and bathroom, but who knows? The bathroom had obviously been redone, fairly nicely, but I do wish they would not put shower heads at the level of my belly button. The front desk workers were helpful and friendly. I'd stay there again, especially at the prices they charge relative to other nearby hotels. Overall, a reasonably pleasant bargain. Mehr

everything was great the only thing i had a promble with was someone was smoking on the floor i was on.and yiu could smell it in the room i was in.other then that every thing was great.

The hotel was nice with it's own shuttle service. The restaurant was good. The area busy and not the greatest. The room and bed were comfortable.

I booked this hotel one day previous due to a scheduling change. Upon check in the front desk staff had difficulty communicating with me which was compounded later when I discovered the telephone and television in the room did not work. Neither of those were repaired before my departure although maintenance did come to the room. The carpeting in the […] halls was quite threadbare. Although the room was comfortable the carpet there was also stained. Mehr
