Das Hotel überzeugt durch seine ruhige Lage, ausreichende Parkplätze hinter dem Hotel, freundliches Personal, saubere und geräumige Zimmer sowie einen verhältnismäßig kleinen aber sehr sauberen Pool. Dieser bot uns bei 40°C eine tolle Abkühlung.

Das Hotel liegt im historischen Teil von Gettysburg. Wir waren dort zur Graduation unserer Tochter, die in Gettysburg ein Auslandsjahr absolviert. Vieles konnte man zu Fuß besichtigen. Das Hotel selbst ist etwas älter, aber sauber. Gerade das Bad ist sehr sauber. Auch der zum Hotel gehörende Außenpool war sehr sauber. Immer war eine Aufsicht da + man […] konnte Handtücher des Hotels benutzen. In den Zimmern war alles, was man brauchte. Eiswürfel konnte man kostenlos im Flur holen. My husband and I enjoyed our stay at 1863 Inn of Gettysburg. The room was very clean and great location to all Gettysburg had to offer. I definately would recommend this hotel to a friend and I would stay here again myself.

Great hotel. The room still smelled like smoke somewhat. You could tell that it use to be a smoking room. Everything else was great!! Great location, clean room!

The hotel is an old-style multi floor motel with access to rooms from outside balconies. The name of the hotel is misleading and causes the traveler to think it is an historic building. The rooms were clean and comfortable with few extra amenities. The breakfast bar was adequate.

My wife and I visited Gettysburg last week. When we checked into the hotel, we were pleasantly surprised to learn we were on the second floor. We were shocked when we saw our room was eye level with the back roof. Looking out our window, we had a view of the roof and the air conditioning system. We figured, if that was the worst of it, that’s OK. When […] we entered our room, the smell of something rotten was overwhelming. I put on the air conditioning in an attempt to clear it up. Every time we entered our room, it smelled really bad! The breakfast offered each morning was good and was included in the room price. We would not stay at this hotel again. Mehr

The hotel was clean, the staff was very helpful. The hotel is right in the middle of Gettysburg with lots of access to restaurants and shops. We went to visit the Gettysburg Battlefield National Park. The hotel is a half mile away from the visitors center. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

This hotel was close to downtown, many things in walking distance, and close to battlefield, no complaints!!!

Awesome location! We barely had to use our car!! I definitly suggest the 5th floor if you want to experience their resident ghost!! Mischievious!!! Had an awesome stay.. We frequent gettysburg and this is our fav hotel!

There are a lot of hotels in Gettysburg and many of them are of the sketchy motel variety (excluding the big ones on the York Road). The 1863 Hotel is a nice exception to that rule: it's big with spacious rooms and bathrooms, relatively cheap, and - most importantly - close to the action. The staff were all friendly and helpful, my room was clean, and […] the complimentary continental breakfast was a great way to start the morning. And you really can't beat the location - you're on East Cemetery Hill, the restaurants on Steinwehr are a few steps away, and you can easily walk to the Angle. I highly recommend it if you don't want to spend a lot of money, but still want to get your money's worth. Mehr

Quality independent hotel in great location. Clean room/good value

Great place. Really happy with just about everything. Free breakfast had plenty of warm and cold choices, our room was spotless, and we were able to walk to about 80% of everything we wanted to see. Would definitely stay here again.

Great location. Common areas could be a little cleaner. Must go outside to get to room. Room didn't smell super fresh, but was a decent value.

We got into town about an hour before our scheduled check-in time but this was no problem .. we got into our room and out to see the sites in matter of minutes. The hotel location is great, the room was clean and the service was friendly and responsive .. No issues what so ever.

Our room faced the main road, and the traffic/road construction in the early am was pretty loud, and not much bothers me when I sleep. Otherwise, nice, clean and friendly.

This Hotel is where you want to be staying in Gettysburg.. You can walk to all areas of town and leave your car in their lot.. Hotel was very neat and clean and the free breakfast was pretty good.. Needed to check in a bit early due to a health issue and the hotel staff was very helpful!! Will stay here again!

Good place to stay. Very convenient location. Mattress could have been better. Eat at Tommy's up the street if you get a chance.

Some parking lot construction, not really much issue. Went early to check on room and get directions and was able to check in early:) room clean. Breakfast was nice and something for everyone. Hotel is in a great walking location to everywhere in the town. We enjoyed this visit overall!

Even welcomed our dog. Nice people. Decent breakfast (as included breakfasts go)... Only stayed one night, but fully satisfied.

Great location. Close to everything. Staff very helpful and friendly. Would stay here whenever in Gettysburg.

great location coffee early in the morning variety at breakfast spacious rooms and bathrooms would stay there again

In our two night stay 3 different people left their names to get a tip for their services. It is getting out of hand, one person yes, even two would have been ok but three people for two nights. Traveling costs a lot to start with the added money mounts up.

The location was perfect, right downtown close to everything. I had no complaints while staying at this hotel for the one night I stayed.

Was so convenient to everything we wanted to do. Walked to every attraction and event for 3 days. Super convenient. Nice continental breakfast room. Not as old as some of the Bed & Breakfasts in town, but would definitely consider this again.

Hotel 1863 was very clean and comfortable. It is located within walking distance of many shops, restaurants and attractions in Gettysburg. We were very satisfied with this hotel and would recommend it.

Everything was exemplary and perfect, but the blankets, which were not warm enough. However, this was easily solved by turning the heat up.

The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly. I picked the hotel for its low price, but the best part was the location. It is located right in town (we walked to the shops and restaurants) and only about 5 minutes to the battlefield. I was also pleasantly surprised by the free breakfast....it was more than just toast and cold cereal. We visited Gettysburg to experience the history of the Civil War battle. 1863 (the year of the Battle of Gettysburg) is a hotel located in close proximity to the large visitor's center and some of the 'stops' on the tour of the battle. If you're looking for Colonial style charm then this is the place to stay. Hotel was very clean and right in downtown Gettysburg. Really enjoyed our time there and will be back in the future.

The hotel is so convenient to walk through Gettysburg. The staff was friendly and helpful. We had a great time there. Great value!

I have stayed at this hotel a few times before, this being the first under the new banner. The rooms were well kept, clean and with the exception of a box spring that probably was due to be replaced, I had no major complaints. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, housekeeping made it a point to check with me to make sure I did not need anything […] even though I hung a note on the door saying I did not need the room cleaned. The hotel is within walking distance of the town square and of course the battlefield itself is literally right off the back of the property but then again the whole town was part of the battlefield! When u get there - be careful where you park, but otherwise, just stop and look around - history is coming alive at every turn. The Inn is beautiful and gracious, the rooms large, comfortable and well cared for. The only disappointment was breakfast - will it was plentiful....it was all carbs (toast, bagels, muffins, donuts). Close proximity to attractions and shops/gift stores. It is located about 3/4 mile from the Battle of Gettysburg National Park Visitors Center on the same street/pike (Baltimore) as Cemetery Hill.
