Holiday Inn Miami Coral Gables - Coral Gables

Um uns von der Flugreise zu erholen war das Hotel ideal. Kein störender Nachtlärm im und um das Hotel. Die Kinder fanden den Pool toll. Einziger Minuspunkt: Haben das Hotel inkl. Frühstück gebucht, bekamen aber bei Ankunft lediglich pro Frühstück 1 Gutschein mit dem Wert von 20.- USD. Dies reicht für eine 4 köpfige Familie natürlich nicht.

Generally, the hotel did not seem clean. The carpet in my room felt grimy- the bathroom needed tile repair, and overall seemed rundown-- The elevators were also not cleaned well, with debris on the floor. Didn't get my wakeup call. Snack store was closed at 4:15PM

Parents of U student. Perfect location to school. Staff extremely friendly. Hot coffee in the lobby. Clean pool. Hall carpeting / room decore could use updates. Bed VERY comfortable with high quality sheets and pillows.Will be staying again!

I was traveling with a business colleague. Both of us had separately booked rooms but they had only one left when we arrived notwithstanding our prepaid reservations. The one room had only one bed. They had to jam a roller bed in just so we could stay there. There was supposedly nothing else available in the neighborhood.

Even though we had a reservation, the hotel said they were full and only had a handicap room available for us. We thought that would be OK, but the room was terrible. The mattresses squeaked every time we moved, the shower was not usable, and many things in the room were not as nice. We had stayed in this hotel earlier in a regular room and it was MUCH […] nicer. Pros: The service was excellent and they were always eager to please. Good location for restaurants of many kinds. Walking distance of TGI Fridays and some strip malls. Good distance from Dadeland mall and Downtown Miami (5-6miles either way). Right across from University of Miami. Cons: The walls were paper thin, so if you have a noisy neighbor, forget […] about sleeping. Each room had a weird "exit" button just outside the door, so any fool that comes by and hits it sets off an extremely bright yellow beacon light inside your room (first time I've seen that in a hotel and it was very annoying). Most of all the other items were as expected for a hotel of this type. -Beds were nice, and the sheets were clean. -Bathroom was clean and well stocked. -The room was just big enough to fit the two beds and the furniture that was in there. -The Microwave was located next to the ice machine, so you have to share it with the whole floor. -The TV was fairly big (42" I think) -Since the hotel is near an urban area, there were no good views, especially from the first floor. I have stayed in this Holiday Inn several times, and would prefer a better hotel if there was one walking distance to the University of Miami, but there is not. The experiences have never been terrible--the staff is friendly, the breakfasts decent, there is a nice garden and pool which I have never had time to enjoy. The problem seems to be that something […] always goes wrong: slow check-ins (I expect them here), a sticking door to the room, a shower that did not get hot, a key that does not work. This may be a function of deferred maintenance problems and/or cutbacks in staff. Whatever the cause, the hotel is okay, but not as nice as I would like. Still, I would have no trouble recommending it to someone else who needs access to the University. Mehr

It was OK, but not exceptiional. We were given a handicapped room with only a shower. Since we were traveling with a 4 year old, we would have preferred a bathtub.

the hotel was convenient for my business needs, however the room had a very pungent smell, like an odor such as smoke was covered up with way too much strong smelling odor eater.

right location as a base if you want to visit Miami and surroundings. Clean, quiet, nice people.

Perfect location for a visit to the University of Miami. Easy access to Coconut Grove too.

The bathroom should be cleaned more efficiently there was mold in some areas.

We enjoyed the hotel dining. Food and service was good. Breakfast Buffet was a breakfast buffet but dinner was very tasty. We would stay here again if in the area.

Our stay at the above hotel was very pleasant. Just as an observation it will be nice if it had a Sauna! Also the parking lot has no shade and it would be nice if there were some trees so the cars did not have to be under the sun all day long! The safe boxes in the rooms are very nice!

Recently I visited Miami and chose Holiday Inn and while the hotel stay was short, the room was clean and comfortable and I would choose this hotel for any future stays in the area.

Great location if you need to be close to UM. Lots of food and drink near. Hotel is standard Holiday Inn.

This hotel was perfect. It was in a great location and was always clean. The staff was so nice, I didn't arrive until 4 am and they still checked me into my room. My room was cleaned everyday, there were fresh towels, fresh soap and my bed was always made. I had a balcony overlooking this really beautiful park and there was air conditioning that I could […] adjust however I wanted. There's a pool, a gym, a laundry room and a gift shop, and I'm sure there's other things I didn't even know about! The staff always asked me if I needed help bringing in bags or when I was checking out. They gave me a parking pass right away and weren't even upset that I lost my hotel key at one point. This hotel is truly great for the price and everyone including the maids and the maintenance men were so polite and friendly. I would recommend this hotel to EVERYONE. And I will always be a customer there as long as it's this way everytime. AWESOME JOB! Mehr

The room was clean, the front desk was helpful. Met Joel, the GM, and he helped me, as they were booked and I needed to stay in the area for another day. They were exchanging box springs and mattresses on the days of 100% occupancy, would have thought the logistics would have been better. For a CPAP/BiPAP user, the two doubles did not give me access […] to a power outlet, because they were right in the middle of the bed's headboard, which I could not get access to. I aked for an extension cord and some help, and no maintenance or cleaning staff spoke much or any English, so they just knocked on my door, and handed me a 9' extension cord, so I had to run it across the trafficked area of the room to the between the beds, very unsafe for tripping hazard (especially at night). We stayed at four different hotels during the last week, and this one turned out to be the best. From the check-in experience, through the quiet dinnertimes in the hotel restaurant, to the general pleasant and attentive attitude of staff-It was a nice ending to a week in Florida with my 87-year-old dad.

It's a great hotel for short terms trips because is in the middle of Miami, every thing close, downtown, Coral Gables Malls, even the expressways. It is not a luxury hotel or fancy for vacations but a good place to sleep and go.

Would wait a few months before venturing out to this hotel unless you enjoy staying at a place that is under construction/renovation.

The staff were helpful and courteous, but there were not enough people working the front desk. Overall, the property looks a bit beat up and doubles as a dorm for the University. However, for anyone needing to do business with UM, it is very convenient. The fitness room could use some upgrades.

This is a tired old motel that either needs complete refurbishment or tearing down.

Clean, well-serviced rooms. Free wifi. Good buffet breakfast. Friendly staff. Nice pool area. Close to the University and many shops and restaurants.

This property is why Holiday Inn is in such pitiful shape nowadays... The only reason I stayed there is because of the big parking lot. I am going back down this week again, I'll stay at the airport 20 miles away before I stay there again.

Having stayed at this hotel years ago, I had high expectations and was looking forward to our stay. We reserved a room for 2 nights. We first saw the lobby, which was very fancy and beautiful. Then we saw the room. It definitely did not match the lobby! Nothing special, but ok. No mini-fridge or microwave. A mini-fridge must be purchased unless you […] have a medical condition, such as diabetes. Oh well. Everything was still ok, until we received no less than 3 phone calls in the middle of the night on our first night. The first call was at 2am, then at 3am, then at 4am. No one on the other end. Nothing like a blaring hotel room phone ringing in the middle of the night! We were there on business, and pretty upset about the phone calls waking us up 3 times in one night! The next day I received another such call around 4pm. Again, no one on the other end. Just a strange noise. I then called the front desk to report the annoying calls and explained how we had received 3 of them in the middle of the night. I was given no explanation or apology, and in fact was told to just "leave the phone off the hook for the rest of your stay." Not the right way to treat a customer. Also, our in-room internet (one of the reasons we chose this Hotel) did not work at all the entire 2nd night of our stay. We called the front desk, and were given another number to call. We called it, and after awhile were told to call the front desk again because it was a problem on their end. Needless to say, it was never resolved. Mehr

Right across from the campus, the hotel has free WiFi, a breakfast buffet, good clean comfortable rooms,and a nice pool. I stay here every time I visit my child at school.
