DoubleTree by Hilton Collinsville - St. Louis - Collinsville

I had higher expectations for a DoubleTree hotel. Nothing was necessarily wrong, but the room was smaller than expected, there was no hot tub, the decor is a little dark, etc. Just not the usual high quality that other DoubleTree hotels have.

This hotel was a good distance away from downtown St. Louis. Easy access to major highways. Close to some nice places to eat. The hotel was very nice. The room had many upgrade and recently updated. Work-out facility was well kept and had plenty of nice equipment to help wind down from a stressful day.

never have we stayed at a more friendly and hospitable hotel staff was excellent location was perfect i can not say enough good things about this hotel

When we pulled up I was a little dubious at first. The dark exterior seemed both somewhat dated and foreboding, and given that the surrounding area is full of cheap hotels and fast food joints, I wondered what we got ourselves into. Fortunately the interior is much better, featuring nicely styled furniture, wall art, and flooring. Our room was fine […] -- a standard queen -- and featured a large flat panel with real HD television channels. I also appreciated that the design of the desk chair; the padding in the carpet; the toiletries that included mouthwash. Little details like these add up to a positive experience. The attached restaurant has one of the best breakfast buffets I have visited outside of Vegas. We were also impressed with the overall size of the hotel and friendliness of the staff. We'll definitely stay there again for our next trip in the area. Mehr

Double Tree Hotel in Collinsville not only met their expectations as a hotel but they exceeded it! The women at the desk appeared to be happy, informative, and obviously ready to do whatever it took to make our stay a pleasurable one! Honestly, I can't think of one single thing that would have made our stay at Double Tree a better one. I would highly […] recommend it to anyone in need. I can't leave out the valley attendents/baggage guys. They helped me in the door with my things with a smile which means so much. No matter what your job these days, you should be the best you can be and do it proudly and they did exactly that! That is were your service began, at the front door. Was willing to overlook the following because of the great deal we got on Hotels.com: --Outlet hanging out of wall --Mildew in bathroom grout --Toilet paper holder falling off cabinet --disgusting and cold $50 breakfast for 3 at Porter's BUT, I lost it when on the final morning (after not having our sheets changed the entire stay) I separated the coverlet […] from the comforter - looking for a dropped item - to find a HUGE bodily fluid stain left from a previous guest. I would recommend this hotel. Great place to stay. Clean rooms and friendly staff.

We usually take our granddaughter (6) on a short trip before Christmas. Last year we stayed in KC,MO. This year since we didn't have time to travel the six hours there, we decided to pick a nice hotel just about 90 minutes from our home. The Double Tree Collinsville looked great on the website and the price was very reasonable. One of the main reasons […] this hotel was chosen was it had a nice heated indoor pool. Unfortunately, it was closed for maintainence, so Emma didn't get to go swimming with Gramps. Overall the confort of the beds and room were very good. The hotel was quiet and clean. Staff was helpful and considerate. I would consider staying here again, but I would first call to see if the pool was usable. Mehr

Hotel was perfectly fine, the cookies are, as always, GREAT upon arrival. Our room had a noisy heater that we couldn't get to stop rattling, but other than that, the stay was fine.

Porter's restaurant was incredible for dinner! On the other hand, the breakfast buffet was cold and the food was removed before we'd finished our meal. Not very hospitable. The room was nice; however, the coffee maker did not work (and was not replaced); the bathroom wallpaper was peeling; and --when I was in the tub--seeing the filthy condition of […] the toilet bowl/rim was unsettling. Our biggest issue was that, although we paid $50 to have our 4 lb. lap dog with us, the maid was terrified to enter the room because a dog was there, and our room was never cleaned. The Double Tree in Collinsville Is a beautiful facility. Interstate accessibility to St. Louis and the surrounding area is great. Time in the pool with the Grandchildren was fantastic.

The hotel was even nicer than we expected! There were 2 items needing attention (television wouldn´t work and bathroom floor not well mopped) but they were quick to make things right and to our satisfaction. We enjoyed our stay and rested comfortably. Oh, - the warm cookies were delicious!

First time with Hilton. Room was great and comfortable. Lots of pillows and the towels were like shammies, big and absorbant. Staff was great. Had a small problem with the toilet not flushing, called and maintenace was up to fix it quite fast. Lots of room for gathering in the lobby and saw they had a fire pit outside. We stayed one night and it was fine - used this location for visiting Cahokia and City Museum in St. Louis. Room was comfortable; shower grout did have some mildew. Snack shop only had a few items so make sure to bring your own. Staff is very friendly!

We ask for main floor and near pool and they were very accommodating, room was comfy and clean.

You could see the arch from the hotel. The hotel was very nice. The beds were comfortable. We will be staying there again. I liked that I could see the arch from the hotel.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Collinsville Doubletree. The staff were exceptionally helpful and nice, and there were great touches, like the warm cookies at check-in. The hotel looked just OK on the outside, but inside, it was up-to-date, clean and bright. Our room was beautiful. If I had to suggest anything, it would be to add pay-per-view movies […] to the offerings, a nice way to unwind after a day on the go. But the location couldn't be beat: our destinations of the St. Louis City Museum and also Cahokia Mounds were accessible and easy to get to. Great experience! Mehr

from the warm cookie upon reception to the outstanding dinner at Porters, 5 star experience at a 3 star price. Very spacious rooms. Had to print some documents--not a problem. needed copies--the front desk did them at no charge. world class.

I thought being right next to a family fun park and having a pool and giving out cookies meant this hotel would be ok with me having a child come along. Nope. We got dirty looks from the staff and during our short dip in the NOT heated indoor pool 3 staff members came in the pool area and didn't even acknowledge our presence. One thing that super annoyed […] me about our stay the staff couldn't help, but the other guests were rude. Being an interracial family we tend to get looks but when we are asked if we could even afford to stay there that crossed the line. Stay there only if your single. Mehr

We enjoyed our stay at the Doubletree. The room was very comfortable, although we were only in it to sleep. We ate dinner at Porters. Highly recommend that restaurant. It was very tastey. Prices were not outrageous. We went to a Cardinals game and it was easy access (about 15 minute ride).

Quiet, comfortable bed. Slept like a log.

Hotel is not very close to the Gateway Arch but I didn't mind the distance. Hotel was clean, had great amenities and very comfortable. Staff was very friendly and helpful - called them daily for directions to various attractions in the St. Louis vicinity. I would definitely stay here again!

Really beautiful lobby. I was greeted by a friendly staff and a hot cookie! The room was welcoming, the beds comfortable.

There was no AC in the elevators or the hallways. It was one of the hottest weeks of the year, so that was a little uncomfortable. The room was clean and well kept. The room was nice and cool so that made the lack of AC in the rest of the areas bearable. The breakfast was great and the kids enjoyed the large selection. I would stay there again!

UPON CHECK IN WE WERE TOLD TO PARK IN THE REAR NEAR THE POOL, WE DROVE AROUND BACK AND IT WAS VERY DARK, PULLED IN THE PARKING SPOT AND A CAR PULLED UP BEHIND US, SOMEWHAT BLOCKING US IN, AND A MAN CAME UP TO OUR WINDOW ASKING IF WE WERE FROM AROUND THERE, I DID NOT ROLL DOWN THE WINDOW, STATED NO AND MANEUVERED MYSELF OUT OF THE PARKING HOLE, AND PULLED […] AROUND FRONT WHERE THERE WERE LIGHTS, AND WENT IN THE FRONT DOOR, AND AS WE WERE DOING THAT, THEY WERE FOLLOWING ANOTHER CAR....TOLD THE FRONT DESK, WHICH HE DID NOT SEEM ALL THAT CONCERNED AND SAID THE MAINTENANCE MAN WOULD WALK AROUND THE PARKING LOT, THAT THEY HAD OTHER COMPLAINTS ABOUT THESE PEOPLE, AND THAT THE LIGHT ON THE BACK PARKING LOT HAD BEEN OUT FOR A WHILE AND THEY DID NEED TO FIX IT.....THE SAFETY IN THIS HOTEL WAS A BIG QUESTION.....ALSO ONE OF THE ONLY HOTELS I HAVE SEEN IN A LONG TIME THAT THE ROOMS DO NOT COME WITH A MICROWAVE AND FRIDGE......THEY DO HAVE THEM BUT YOU HAVE TO RENT THEM....AT A RATE OF $5 PER DAY EACH ITEM.....DID NOT RECEIVE A COOKIE UPON CHECK IN AND WHEN ASKED FOR THE NEXT DAY, THE MAN ACTED LIKE WE WERE BOTHERING HIM.....THE HOSPITALITY AT THIS HOTEL WAS DEFINITELY LACKING...WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL FROM MANY DIFFERENT ASPECTS..... We stayed in this hotel for only 1 night but would stay there again anytime we are in STL. Customer Service was great and the price was a great deal!

This hotel represents a great value, with clean rooms and great service. The stay was comfortable, and I would recommend this hotel to friends and family. The location is not ideal for travelers to St. Louis, but with just a short drive, one can visit the local attractions.

Overall stay for our weekend getaway was very nice. The staff at the desk was friendly and helpful. The free cookies were also a nice treat! My only suggestion would be to include a continental breakfast as most of the other hotels do.

Beds were very comfortable with plenty of fluffy pillows. We receive fresh, warm cookies upon arrival. Air conditioning was icy cold for the very hot day we visited. Staff goes out of their way to assist you. Hotel has in-house dining and cocktails, but is also convenient to many restaurants, with good highway access to both I-70 and I-64. We stayed at the Double Tree in Collinsville and drove to Busch Stadium for a Cubs Cards game. Great location minutes from the stadium and right off of the interstate. The hotel grounds were perfect, the lobby beautiful and our room was spotless. The bed was very comfortable. Will stay again!

This Hotel is our favorite place to stay. Rooms areclean and comfortable and the staff is very friendly.

Our stay as a guest actually made us feel that we were a guest. All of the staff were extremely helpful and friendly, the room was very clean and comfortable. We would highly recommend a stay at this hotel.

The bedding was amazing. Most hotels rooms have a funky smell to them but the minute we walked into our room we all said "this smells great". Not used to that.
