Für den Preis hatte ich eigentlich ein Billig-Hotel erwartet, aber die Zimmer waren top gepflegt und sehr gut ausgestattet. Nur die in England üblichen Queen-Size-Betten mit gemeinsamer Matratze können bei einem unruhigen Bettgenossen durchaus unangenehm auffallen ;) Der Service ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit, das Hotel liegt nahe am Zentrum und ist […] sowohl mit PKW als auch mit Öffentlichen gut erreichbar. Mit ein bisschen Glück bekommt man ein Zimmer, aus dem man die ganze Stadt überblicken kann. Einen Minuspunkt würde ich für die überteuerten Extras geben: 15 Pfund für Internetzugang und 13 Pfund fürs Frühstück sind dann doch sehr teuer. Mehr

Die Zimmer sind sehr komfortabel ausgestattet und sehr sauber. Es gibt einen Fön und Wasserkocher (inkl Instant-Coffee und Tee). Die Kosten für die Internetnutzung sind leider überteuert. Vor dem Hotel gibt es eine Bushaltestelle. In ca 30min ist man im Stadtkern. Zu Fuss ist man gut eine Stunde unterwegs. Really enjoyed the peace and quiet of the location. Hotel was very clean and tidy.

The hotel is not right in Edinburgh's city centre, but if you don't mind taking a short bus ride, it's really quite convenient. We were comfortable, and the staff was very helpful. No complaints here!

Good hotel, close to airport, and easy to take a taxi into city. Bad service that the hotel not provided free wifi.

This hotel is at excellent location, spectacular views from your windows and of great comfort. Will surely be back here and spend more nights next time.

Stopped at holiday inn city west for two nights, couldn't really fault it, room was very clean and comfortable, and the staff were very friendly and helpfull. Was in a good location to most of the must see sights in Edinburgh. And also I had a good view from my room ad the city. Second visit here. Handy for Murrayfield and the city centre. In a quiet location. Fabulous view over Edinburgh

On checking in I asked if there were printing facilities available as I had a job interview the next day I needed to print something for. I was told by Rachel on reception that there was no facilities but she could help me out if I was able to e-mail her the document I needed printed....fantastic service. Saved the day for my interview. THANK YOU RACHEL... Also […] room very clean. Bed nice and comfortable. Pillows also. High quality TV In the room. Bath smallish but used the shower instead which wasn't great but sufficient. I would stay here again and as a result of passing my last interview am already planning on staying before my next one. Hotel was pleasant but came in through bar area which was not ideal. Also upgraded to suite which should have had bathrobes and slippers. Bathrobes appeared after four attempts and we are still waiting for the slippers. Gail was blowing through failed window in sitting room area but bedroom was fine. Overall satisfied, but two of the nights we stayed at the hotel, we experienced that the maid did not properly clean our room and change the sheets. Other than that, I have nothing to complain about. Overall good food in the restaurant and pleasant price level. Good value for our money.

hotel was clean and service from reception staff was very good hotel was a little noisy with kids on the corridors but all in all would stay again taxi into town costs about a tenner so not too handy.

Nice, comfortable hotel, staff were friendly and polite without being too much so. Room was a little small but had everything I needed, only downside was the entertainment system didn't work. Dining room was superb and the bar area well laid out. Good to find a decent hotel, central in a city and with their own free parking. Would stay there again.

The holiday inn Edinburg was generally good,good location ,nice breakfast but the main problem I thought was the noisy rooms' doors as you can hear any door in the corridor making very loud noise when closing which can interrupt your sleep...

The hotel was generally very good only critic would be noise level with hotel catering for stag nigh tpeople this also meant that the restuarant in the morning was not fully stocked with food essentials

Clean and bright hotel with wonderful views of the city.Room was booked for three adults however only towels ect for two ,took three attempts to sort this out,however we enjoyed our stay.

it is a ten minute bus ride to city and there is nothing around this area hence £4 for a pint £7.39 for a large glass of wine food is not of a very good standerd £13 for breakfast go across to sainsburys £4 may suit people on expenses but not for tourists.

Really enjoyed our stay, staff were very polite and hotel was perfectly suitable for our two boys (4 and 9) as well, especially as they were allowed to enjoy a soft drink in the bar when we returned from dinner. Rooms were spotlessly clean and lovely hot showers.

Our room was on the top floor facing towards the city and the Firth of Forth, with excellent views. There were two double beds, with little room around them, but adequate. The last time we stayed here, the toilet cistern flooded after we got back in at midnight. Being a handyman, I fixed it, but found no interest from the staff in effecting a permanent […] repair when I reported it in the morning. This time, the sink was cracked and the knob was missing from the plug lever. When we showered in the bath in the morning, the plug would not open, so we had to stand in dirty water. Again, the staff failed to apologise or try to remedy the situation for us. The breakfast was tired, with most dishes in the hot plates dried out, and several empty. Mehr

My friends and I stayed in this hotel when we were going to see Kings of Leon at Murrayfield. The hotel was lovely and rooms were large and comfortable. The hotel details state "close to Murrayfield" but it's still a 45min walk, The view was really good, we were on the 6 th floor and it overlooked Edinburgh. Excellent hot breakfast - comfortable room - convenient to airport and downtown. Great luggage carts - we had 13 bags!!!

We stayed at this hotel only one night, although given the choice we would have stayed a few more nights. We had been to a wedding at Castle Guthrie, north of Dundee on the Thursday and had stayed the night in a small cottage on the castle grounds. However we were going to travel back to Jersey on Saturday and we needed to travel to Edinburgh to get […] our flight. We decided that we would stay a night in Edinburgh in order for us to have a look around and hopefully get to see Edinburgh castle - which we did. I did my usual search for hotels on www.hotels.com and looked for hotels that were close enough to the airport so that we wouldn't have to drive too far on the Saturday. The Holiday Inn seemed like a decent enough place at first glance so we booked a double room. When we arrived to the hotel we were a few hours early, check in time is at 2pm. However we could check in and go to our room. Our room was situated on the top floor and was facing Edinburgh. The view was magnificent and I managed to plot a route for us to walk in to the City centre from this view. The room itself consisted of two double beds, a desk, a normal size flat screen TV, a chair, a suitcase support-bench, an ensuite bathroom. It was all very nice and clean. We had the breakfast buffet the next day which was both British and Continental. Free newspapers in the lobby was a nice bonus. All in all we had a very good stay here. Mehr

The hotel itself was very good. However when the room was alloated, they failed to read the requirements and what was requested. Having pointed this out, I was then placed in a roo opposite the lift where throughout the night people were exceptionally noisey. Good room, wrong location.

Staff excellent, friendly and helpful. NO INTERNET ACCESS ... there was supposed to be access but it was expensive (if we could have bought it) but it was NOT working. Spent two nights here, unhappy not to have free internet access and if we did have it, in 2011 it should be free.

Lovely hotel. Staff were nice and helpful. Room on the 5th floor had fantastic views. Short 5/10 minute taxi ride into Edinburgh city centre. Would definitely recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again.

Very good hotel offering much more than we anticipated. Conveniently close to the city centre and only a 5 minute taxi drive away, this hotel offers a relaxing comfortable stay with great views of the castle and the surrounding area. Convenient late night bar if required and an excellent restaurant. Take advantage of prebooking the meals if this service […] is available to reduce costs.The rooms were spacious and very clean. The hotel staff were polite and readily available. I will certainly be visiting this hotel again for future trips to Edinburgh. Mehr

I think if you have stayed in Holiday Inn's before, you wouldn't be disapointed. My room was a good size. Sky sports in the bar. The price from hotels.com was room only, not including breakfast.
