Great hotel. Beautiful accommodations. Would recommend for single folks as opposed to family vaca though.

Great place, great rooms, great bar & restaurant! Front desk staff really helpful in every way.

Everyone at the front desk was delightful no matter the time of day whether it was 3 in the afternoon or 3 in the morning. The concierge woman was also great and set up our swamp tour for us and told us all about the other tours. The pool is wonderful and the restaurant has a great menu. All over A+.

No free internet, slow service on cleaining the room, and a stench in the lobby makes this a never again hotel. I also witnessed an argument between a hotel employee and his girlfriend in the reception area outstide. In all I was very displeased for a W.

I booked this (4 Star plus) room with Hotels.com for my husband's birthday weekend and I was not satisfied at ALL!!! The rooms were dingy and dirty (they had to switch our room once because the chaise and floor was filty!) AND the second room was no better ~ I am NOT happy...I could have stayed in the Holiday Inn for a much better room and lower price...I […] really want my money back or a free stay in a REAL 4 Star plus hotel...can anyone help me with that?? Great hotel and service. I had breakfast every morning in the dinning room and it was always great and the staff was very friendly as well. My room was amazing and I really felt like I was on vacation. It was just a couple of blocks away from the insanity of the French Quarter. Close enough, but not too close. Perfect location!

The Hotel is very nice but i think it should have at least a small window that opens for fresh air and update the bathrooms. But overall it is excellent.

We had difficulty upon checking in. The hotel did not want to accommodate the bed types that was clear on our reservation. When finally provided a room it was dirty. The floor was dirty, smelled of smoke, toilet was dirty and a hook feel off the shelf. I could not even walk around barefoot. The overall staff was unfriendly.

Hotel employees were very friendly, polite and helpful, even though they were extremely busy (Mardi Gras). The hotel was far enough from the madding crowd to avoid most of the drunks which plague Bourbon and Canal Streets, for instance, yet walking distance to main points of interest in the French Quarter. Enjoyed our stay.

The hotel lobby is beautiful, the rooms were nice. I was looking forward to sleeping on a W Hotel bed, but was disappointed; the sheets were RUFF, usually i sleep like a baby in the W. Well, we went as two single ladies, in our early 30's. Overall, the hotel was very clean and beautifully decorated. The staff was very helpful and accomodating. The rooms a bit small, and the bathroom/ shower left something to be desired. (There was no actual tub, but just a flat stand-up shower, which led to nearly the whole floor being wet after a […] shower). Overall, I think it was a good choice for us. It was within easy walking distance to the action, but just far enough away that things were pretty quiet when we were ready to sleep. Also, right next door to Harrah's. The hotel bar was ok for a quick pregame drink, but really didnt pick up through the night, and closed relatively early for Nola time. The hotel restuarant seemed ok, but awkwardly placed in the conference hall center. The pool deck was nice, and gave us a place to detox in the mornings and work on our tans. We didnt use the gym, but looking at it , there seemed to be all the necessary basics if you wanted to work out. I would stay there again if I was going to New Orleans. Mehr

Staff very accomodating. We had a few kids between the three hotel rooms my family booked & the hotel was always fun, kind & friendly. Even the other hotel guests were in great spirits, polite and chatty. Location turned out to be better than expected; short walk to the French Quarter, near Convention Center, Canal St. ferryboat. RiverWalk & their […] many shops/restaurants/beignets & cafe au lait, Hilton Hotel w/ their many restaurants, across the street from Casino w/restaurants, Gordon Biersch restaurant w/ their delicious beer/salads & most importantly, across the street from Mother's Restaurant, cheap delicous breakfast food. I had a conference at the Hilton Riverside and did NOT want to stay there so saved money and increased value staying at The W. All very nice but I was next to room that was getting worked on and "drilling" sound that started at 8:30 was very loud. I'm sure that they would have moved me, but I had unpacked and was only going to be in room for an hour […] before conference began. Also wireless in room wasn't strong enough doe my Airbook to pickup so I had to go to lobby for free wireless in 30 minute doses. Even with issues, I would definitely stay again but ask a few more questions at checking. Mehr

The Hotel is nice, modern and young. But nothing more. Great if you go with friends but I'd tay somewhere else if you go as a couple

Great location and hotel. This is our second time there. The check in service was great. The check out clerk talked for 15 minutes to another customer before checking us out. The shuttle doesn't start until 7am, so we had to pay for a cab. The iron was cracked, water in in the ice bucket and the iron dial was rubbed off, so we couldn't tell what the […] temp. was on the iron. This is really a great hotel. Will stay again! Mehr

This W hotel feels like a Holiday Inn with a fresh coat of paint. The rooms are very average and we had to request a new room becuase ours was dirty upon arrival. I would stay elsewhere.

I expected a 5 star and got a 2 star. After the glitz from the lobby, the trip was downhill. $40 parking! $18 internet access fee! Luke warm bath water, construction going on that vibrated the walls, no coffee pot in the room, no convenient wall outlets for chargers, slow room service and I could go on. For smokers they offered a 4th floor deck but […] neglected to tell that they locked it at 10 pm. However the bed was comfortable and the bath towels were nice. Mehr

This hotel has an excellent location: a few blocks from the French Quarter, across the street from the casino, and one block from Mother's Cafe. I loved the location! The lobby is very modern and comfortable; i particularly liked the outdoor couches that they had on a small patio area. However, my guest room was not adequately ready when I checked-in […] on the first evening. Upon arrival, my guest room clearly needed vacuuming (debris was all over the floor) and the bathroom was missing hand towels. It made me wonder whether the cleaning woman simply forgot to finish cleaning this room earlier in the day. The first night I ate in the hotel's restaurant. The food was fine, but the service was the worst I've ever experienced. I dine out a lot and this was the first time in my life where I actually had to consider what an appropriate tip is for such poor service ($1.00??? 5%???). I had the misfortune of being in New Orleans during the water contamination outbreak. I was impressed with the immediate actions taken by the hotel to insure that its guests had access to bottled water and clean ice. Before I heard anything on the news, the hotel had already written a letter to its guests and slipped a copy under each guest's door, explaining the city-wide public health situation and identifying the cautionary measures taken by the hotel. While the news reached me too late (I had spent the day drinking water), I nonetheless appreciated the hotel's quick actions and solutions. Mehr

It's the W - what more do you need to say. Great rooms, comfortable beds, SPG points, etc. Only major - and I mean I would consider staying somewhere else next time - was the gouging they charge for valet service overnight. It was $42/night plus tax. I stayed the previous night at Le Pavillon and it was only $25 plus tax. That is just robbery and even […] the front desk clerk said that the managment of the W is embarrased by the valet company's extreme prices. Mehr

I had been looking forward to staying at a W for awhile and have to say I was disappointed with this hotel. While I liked the overall design it was clear they cut corner. The paint on the walls didn't have clean lines and my room was not very clean. I would not stay at this hotel again.

We have stayed at this hotel before. It is in a great location to everything. We used the FREE Acura Experience Car Service to get us to the Superdome for the game, which was awesome. The staff was very accommodating- as always. LOVE THIS HOTEL.

The great thing going for this hotel is the service. Decor is great-very modern and interesting. Yes the sheets were great. Room was pretty small but otherwise old and ho-hum. valet was expensive as was in room wifi. would not stay again.

The staff was one of the friendliest and helpful staffs I have ever encountered. The only negative that I can think of is that this appears to be a party hotel. There were lots of people in their early-20s that would not wake up until after noon and had a tendency to be extremely loud after 4 am. The hotel staff did their best to keep the noise down, […] but there is only so much they can do. The hotel itself was clean and very modern. The pool was small which made finding a spot very challenging on the weekend. Mehr

The pictures are definitely a lot better than the actual room. The lobby is probably the best part of the whole hotel. Pretty good location, but I probably will not stay there on my next visit.

obviously lobby and common areas were very nice. Just had 2 complaints about the room. One, very noisy, could hear the people talking in the next room like they were in the room. It was actually driving me crazy and I figured it out, it was not the wall, it was the window. The room that you share a window with had a gap at the window, which made it […] very noisey. Second the room was nicely decorated at first glance, but when you actually stay there and notice things, it feels very cheap, the toliet, sheets, bed, etc. Bit like i said overall good expirence. Great location, good value this particular weekend and the staff is always plentiful and ready to please. Valet was prompt and hotel is perfect for any traveling reason.

Housekeeping at this hotel was very poor. They didn't clean our room until after 5:00 pm on both days.

The staff was not particularly friendly. The cost to park in the hotel gartage was excessive (for the south). I was double billed for parking on my credit card and it took several calls to get it corrected, even though everyone agreed it was an error and each time they said it would be taken care of.
