Couldnt fault this hotel at all. Every member of staff was really helpful and friendly. We had interconnecting rooms which was great as there were 4 of us and we could all be together. Excellent location close to CIA arena, train station and shops. Highly recommended.

only gave a 3 for surrounding neighbourhood due to the fact that there is a bit of noise from nearby Mill Lane (nightspots). It was a Saturday night that we stayed so may not be an issue all of the time. The concierge (forget his name) was absolutely superb, friendly, most professional and helpful. The pool was great and again the staff there very friendly […] and helful. One recommendation is get down for breakfast early as they have far too few tables for the numbers of guests; so if everyome descends at once, a queue of hungry guests starts to form right back into the foyer! great stay good location

Excellent service, we we were upgraded to the Executive level, the staff were friendly and helpful. The room, bed and bathroom were clean and comfortable. There were lots of bars and restaurants to choose from in town.The only down side was a huge queue for breakfast -we waited for 15 mins to be seated and the service was very slow, which was not an […] enjoyable experience,especially if one has a flight or train to catch in the morning! Great central location, close to all the shops, stadium & bars. Parking right next door but expensive at £12 a day.

The Hotel is difficult to find. The roads leading into the city centre are heavily pedestrianised and many are designated one-way traffic. The hotel itself is very good; the staff are very helpful and very pleasant. We stayed for two nights with breakfast on both mornings and a diner in the evening. The hotel is ideally situated close to the shopps, […] both with malls and the surrounding streets. It's very good to see a vibrant high street environment thriving beside the mall(s). The room was a good size and with a standard layout of a modern hotel room. It was great to have both a bath and shower as well as the extra pillows we requested when booking. The only dissapointment was having to pay for the parking - but this we knew about when booking ; this aspect is common to the other Cardiff hotels that were looked at prior to our stay at the Marriott. Stayed for one night in February 2012 for a concert at the nearby Motorpoint arena. Hotel is perferctly situated two minutes walk between the arena and the railway station, plus it's slap bang in the centre by the new St.David's shopping centre with loads of restaurants on its doorstep. We stayed in a family room which was spacious, clean and well positioned. The breakfast was tasty and the variety of food was excellent. The staff were all very obliging and friendly. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone and I look forward to returning soon.

Hi, while this hotel is conveniently located, offers a great breakfast, and hosts a nice gym, I slept horribly and thus cannot give this hotel a good recommendation. After the first night, I complained to the hotel staff that the bed was obviously out of date and too soft, they tried to offer me another room, however the bed was in the same poor state. […] Also the lack of free wifi was a disappointment. Excellent hotel, good facilities and very central to city centre. The car park was almost impossible to drive to though. I think this may have been due to roadworks which were going on when we stayed there. Telephone hotel before arrival to find the best route to find it. Our sat nav could not find route. This exceeded my expectations, we had a fabulous family room & the staff couldn't do enough for us, many thanks to them for their friendliness & the great breakfast where they also went out of their way to make pancakes for my boys! Will definitely be going back.

Friendly staff, quick check in. We were upgraded which was nice, massive room and good sized bathroom. Was close to main shopping centre (3 min walk) and restaurants/bars and also the motor point arena (which was the reason we chose this hotel!) we booked B&B and breakfast was okay. Would recommend as we had a pleasant stay.

Only family room available with Pool at last minute, during half term. v friendly staff, close to all amenities and great pool, Children over 8 can use spa pool. Great Gym, good room service and cracking breakfast.

Great Location right in the centre of Cardiff - right next to all the restaurants and shops and an easy walk to Cardiff Caste. Secure car park next door and good swimming pool much enjoyed by my 8 year old son. Staff very friendly and helpful. Only negative is the noise from all the bars in Mill Lane opposite the hotel.

This hotel was stunning, the location has the new shopping centre next door and the parking was easy access to both hotel and shops, will definately rebook a visit.

Welcoming and Friendly. Clean and well kept. Good quality through out. The service we received from Aidan a chef in Chats restaurant was excellent. Nothing was to much. We will recommend and we will be staying again in January 2012. Fantastic stay and the bonus of great shops on the doorstep.

Great hotel , very central ideal for shopping concerts and rugby events. Not great if you want a quiet weekend.

If you are in Cardiff for a sport event, a show, shopping or a night out the location of this hotel is great.

Excellent hotel in perfect location for city centre. Little noisy in the room, due to strip of pubs and clubs opposite hotel.

Just back from a weekend at the Marriott Cardiff, and really I can not fault this hotel. Drove there and was looking for cheaper parking in the area but when I arrived there and saw the other options I had I decided to park in the secure car park of the hotel , and I am glad I did so . Taxis always waiting outside the hotel and location is perfect . I […] would stay there again . Mehr

stayed here again for wales argentina rugby game..can fault it everything 1st class....we left a phone charger in the room in june and guess what they still had it....it was there for me waiting!!! wow see u soon

Pretty goood alround as far as ambience, decor and staff are concerned. V expensive wi-fi and and having to pay £15 per day for each device (own laptoop, wifes iPad and any smart phone) is simply not acknowledging 21st century lifestyle particularly when many other hotels offer internet connectivity free nowadays.

Had a great staff at the Cardiff Marriott, we couldnt have wished for a better location. The only concern was that my mother had a bath and couldnt get out of the bath as the bath was too deep Great hotel

The Marriot was an excellent hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful.The choice for breakfast was huge and the service good. The only down side was that the air conditioning was not very good and the room was too warm at night. The leisure club was brilliant to. The hotel is right in town but not affected by any noises.

what a fab weekend stayed at marriott cardiff with large group of freinds service was impecable from start to finish would defo stay there in future

Stayed on Fri and Sat. Great location for shopping sight seeing. The staff were great very polite and helpful. Fantastic hotel. The leisure club was excellent used it twice and never really crowded. Didnt want to leave. Will definately return and will stay in Marriott again.

Great hotel, staff and location

Three day visit used the train, nice way travel.Hotel is just a short walk from Cardiff station.You are at the heart of the city,for shopping restauants and bars.The hotel was great with very nice staff. The Marriott Cardiff was so good that I took the time to pen a letter to their General Manager. Staff service at Reception, Breakfast, and Bar was of the highest order. The live piano music a nice touch, and the spa area was as well presented as the attendants who welcomed you with a smile. Plush but not pushy, it is of little wonder that others recommended […] the Marriott Cardiff. This is on par with our other favourite which is a 5* Hotel. Excellent hotel. Staff helpful and courteous and always willing to assist. Good quality breakfast and hotel facilities including the complementary leisure club are excellent.

Our room was very clean and comfortable (a little old-fashioned, but not off-putting). PROS: Close to the main shopping centre and restaurants and bars. Excellent service from professional staff. The decent spa/pool opens late - get there at least an hour before closing time though. CONS: Even on the 5th floor you can hear the party people out on the […] town, so beware at weekends if you need peace and quiet. No WIFI in the rooms, paid in the lobby. Vastly overpriced breakfast (just go into town). General point - always test hotel room safes work before locking your valuables in! Ours wouldn't unlock so we had to rely on the friendly staff to reopen it - a little worrying! Mehr

We were in Cardiff to see Russell Watson at the St David's Hall. The Marriott is extremely convenient for this sort of visit - especially for the new shopping centre at St David's 2 as well as a variety of restaurants. Had the best time in a super hotel but!!!! I could not get to sleep until after 2.30 a.m. due to the extreeeemely loud music coming from the pavement bars in the near vacinity. Hotel staff assured me that this would be turned down at 10.30. Three mornings of 2.30 and still awake made me very tired. The Marriott in Cardiff is everything you'd expect from a 4 star hotel. It is right in the centre of the city - a stone's throw from the shops, restaurants and bars. This has advantages and disadvantages! Our room was directly opposite a row of bars and clubs that stayed open (playing loud music) until 2am. Good for the club-goers but not for our children […] who didn't get much sleep! Having said that, we've stayed there before in other rooms and have had no problem at all. Ask for a room at the back! I have stayed in many hotels in Cardiff, but I think I'll be coming back to the Marriott. It was reasonably priced, clean, the bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was extremely good! Location is fabulous - in the center very near the shops.

We stayed one night and cannot fault the hotel and its staff. The room was available 3 hours early, which was great and meant we could unpack before heading off out for the afternoon. We had a room on the Executive Level, which included access to the Executive Lounge - lovely to spend an hour or so there before dinner.
