Das Hotel ist sehr modern eingerichtet (Retro Style) und macht einen sauberen Eindruck! Die Lage ist für (junge) Touristen sehr gut geeignet. Die Haupt-Sehenswürdigkeiten (Weißes Haus, Kapitol, Monument, Museen...) sind in ca. 15 Minuten zu Fuß zu erreichen. Um die Ecke gibt es viele Möglichkeiten um Essen zu gehen oder für einen Drink. Das Hotel "The Helix" ist kein übliches Standardhotel. Ein wenig flippig mit vielen Anspielungen auf die 70er und 80 Jahre. Das junge Publikum ist nett und die Bar/Lounge am Abend ein guter Treffpunkt. Das Hotel liegt günstig zur City und bietet für Washington ein gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Viele Restaurants in fußläufiger Nähe bereichern das […] Angebot aber auch Biomarkt um die Ecke könnte für manche ein Grund sein, sich hier für längere Zeit einzunisten. Bin soweit zufrieden mit dem Hotel. Ich hatte am Vorabend über Hotels.com online das falsche Zimmer gebucht (anstatt das normale, irgendetwas mit Flex Special...). Vor Ort wollte ich es gerne wechseln. Kein Entgegenkommen der Receptionistin. Es sei alles ausgebucht. Das fand ich sehr schade. Ein Dämpfer für mich. DC ist sehr weitläufig. Grosse Distanzen […] zwischen den Sehenswürdigkeiten. Aber relativ nahe, vom Hotel ca. 15/20 Minuten bis zum White House oder der Metrostation. Zimmer war sehr gross, Badezimmer hingegen klein (kaum Platz für 2 Personen). Räumlichkeiten könnten besser aufgeteilt sein... "Unique hotel"
Not your average hotel, but would def stay here again. Rooms were unique/modern style and very spacious. Pluses: Room size, cleanliness, decor, free wine hour every day. Negatives: Parking price was very high - (over 3 dozen$), small bathroom, and a small tv that is too far from the bed. We parked 4 blocks away for half the price. Almost forgot, there […] was no pool which is an automatic down rating. Not a whole lot of options near the hotel but did find an awesome bar right around the corner that had the most extensive selection of beer I have ever seen. The main sights are about 1.5 miles from the hotel. Lucky for us, we don't mind walking. All in all, pretty good hotel and a nice change from the cookie cutters out there. My stay at Helix Hotel was wonderful as expected. The artsy decor at this hotel was nothing more than expected from a Kimpton Hotel. Clean lines, airy and lots of color. The awesome colors set a really fun and social mood to the stay. Wine hour of course was awesome and the king bed room was delightful. The decor in the room was modern and sheik . There […] was a little bit of loud noise from the room next door but nothing so disturbing that had to be reported. The service was awesome. Never had to wait more than 5 minutes for valet to bring the car and the location of the hotel was super convenient to all of the events that we had planned for our weekend. This is my second visit to the Helix, and it won't be my last. Great energy at this hotel. Love the decor, the bed surrounded by sheer curtains, the wine reception each night from 5 - 6, the free coffee in the morning. The neighborhood is awesome, everything within an easy walk. "Enjoyed my stay!"
The hotel was great. I loved the decor very sexy and chic. The neighborhood was fun, great restaurants and every convenience you need. Check in/out was very easy and fast. Valet parking was a bit expensive at $42.00 per day but quick and efficient.Authentische Hotels.com-Gästebewertung

The hotel is nestled in a quiet block of downtown DC, away from all of the construction and high traffic volume of other hotels. The room was awesome and spacious. I really enjoyed the decor and will definitely stay there again on my next visit to the capital.Authentische Hotels.com-Gästebewertung

"enjoyed my stay"
Chose the hotel for location, which worked out well! When arriving it seemed a little quirky, funky, Warhol poppy, but that endeared the place after just a few minutes of adjusting. Everything was well maintained and clean. Another reason for my choosing this hotel was internet service, which did not work on the 10th floor, but I got relocated to the […] 6th without any problem and got Wifi signal without any further problems. "Fun, pleasant place"
I love the Helix's off-beat décor, a nice change from the usual chain hotels. The complementary bubbly in the late afternoon is a pleasant addition, as is the free wifi. "Average Hotel in great location"
I generally thought this hotel was OK for its location, but everything in the hotel was average to fair at best, and I would probably try another hotel next time. The condition, cleanliness and comfort of the room were average. The main problem was that the bathroom had someone else's hair (from a certain part of the body....) on the floor. When I stay […] in a hotel, I don't like to actually be reminded that many people have stayed there before me, by things like dirt or hair in the bathroom. I prefer it when the rooms are prepared and so clean that you can't tell. Especially when paying $400 per night, I don't think this expectation is too much. "Located in a great area"
Overall, we had a fantastic stay at Helix. The only downside was the size of the room. The room itself was fine, but the closet area and bathroom were cramped and very small. The hotel is great, and the staff was outstanding! Everyone couldn't have been more helpful. The best part was the hotel location. It's in a great little residential neighborhood […] with some fantastic restaurants right around the corner on P street. We felt very safe walking around at all hours of the day. "great location but hotel was lacking"
Convenient to everything and neighborhood felt safe. Room felt cramped and view of garbage dumpsters that we're emptied at 7 am. I wouldn't say the room was dirty but it had peeling wallpaper, bathroom fan was broken, and room had an awkward layout. Overall we were disappointed for the price.
