Der Empfang an der Reception war inkompetent und unfreundlich. Es dauerte 15 Minuten bis die Reservierung gefunden wurde. Ein zweiter Zimmerschlüssel für die Begleitperson wurde nicht ausgegeben, da angebich das System defekt war. Positiv war lediglich das frische Obst am Frühstücksbuffet. It cost $9.95 per night for internet service. There was no coffee or tea water available in the lobby urns when we arrived at 6:30 pm.

The staff were not so welcoming. I asked about roadside parking on the weekend since there was a $20 charge per day (so 1 night's stay is $40 just in parking) and the front desk staff told me that she doesn't know anything about roadside parking as she doesn't use this. She told me that I could go outside and read the meter. Well, it turns out that […] parking was free on weekends and public holidays. Thank God! We were on a tight budget. I found her to be aloof. The hotel charges additional fees for parking to stay in their hotel. They hide informations like the breakfast is not free, WiFi is not free.

Bathroom floor needs a good cleaning. Room was adequate. Restaurant-hint: eat out. Nothing really bad to say, but nothing really good.

Breakfast Buffet is not the best. Overall visit was very good.

I booked a room in this hotel for one night. Not knowing the area, I assumed it was close to the King St. night life. It was not. I had to switch rooms due to a door malfunction. Hotel front desk and check in was a positive experience... I felt the service at the resteraunt/lounge was lacking. Barmaid/Waitress rarely was around. Waited 10 minutes for someone working there to show up. Sat with glass empty for over 5 minutes 3 different times. Ordered a well done steak. 1/2 way through it it was very pink inside. When waitress […] came back she took my plate still 1/2 full. I commented and there was no offer to even as much as to put it into the microwave to cook it a little more. Mehr

The room was very nice with a great view facing south toward Old Town Alexandria and the Potomac River. The heavy curtains don't pull all the way across the window, thus letting in lots of light in the morning, but the bed was fantastic!! Staff was very professional and nice buffet breakfast is served for an additional small sum.

Nice hotel, local residents all seemed to know it, and said good things about it, w/in walking distance to Old Town Alexandria; shuttle to airport and Metro station to Wash DC available and reliable (every 1/2 hour). I prefer a room with a window that can be opened for fresh air, but the lack of one is my only real complaint.

We stay at the Crowne Plaza frequently because it's location, friendly staff & the shuttle to King St & Ronald Reagan Airport - wouldn't stay anywhere else in Alexandria!!

I understand paying for parking but we counted over 50 + parking spaces open in the back lot plus more in the front so why did we have to pay an additional 20 dollars to park when the hotel was almost empty.

Everyone was pleasant and generally went out of there way to be pleasant and helpful. Very accommodating to requests and needs. Shuttle got you to the metro or Alexandria. Everything was clean. The front desk people in particular were simply wonderful and always seemed interested in helping in any way they could to make the stay better. Great facility, clean, accommodating and comfortable. Disappointed by some of the hidden fees: $9.95 daily wi-fi charges $12.95 daily breakfast fee per person $20 daily parking fee

Great hotel walking convenience to Old Town Alexandria. Great complimentary shuttle. Good Room service for breakfast!

This was a delightful hotel. Its proximity to DC proper was wonderful. I was met by smiling receptionist who seemed to be happy that I'd arrived safely. My room service was quick and friendly. My room was truly clean and the view was great. I'd recommend this hotel for the price to any traveler (business or leisure). Hotel is close by my training center so it served my purpose really well. It was close to the waterfront and I had a really nice view of the Potomac River. I called them beforehand to tell the hotel that I was catching a red eye flight and if I could check in early. They were nice enough to accomadate my request. I didn't like that there was no refrigerator […] in my room though. I would've liked to have some cold drinks stored in my room in case I got thirsty during the night. My room was clean and comfortable. Some parts of the hotel looked a bit worn and could use some maintenance, but overall good. It was about a 8 to 9 block (15 min) walk to Old Town Alexandria. The hotel is located in a pretty quiet neighborhood. There are a few restaurants nearby but not much around unless you feel like walking over to Old Town or driving into D.C. Mehr

As though the hotel was clean and breakfast was good, I would not recommend it to anyone. I booked in advance (1 month) and got 2 rooms on different floors. 4 and 10. Since in was a family and we only had one bag it was complicated for us to go back and forth. On the 10th floor our room had a connected door to another room and we could hear everything […] what was going on next door. All coughs, toilet flash, conversation and etc. from late night into the early morning. On the check-out I mentioned the issues with 2 rooms to the clerk and she said that we had to call the hotel to confirm our reservations and made the request directly, not through the booking agent - hotels.com. Generally a good hotel close to the river but still a good distance to Old Towne. The Westin Alexandria is a much better facility for a little more money!!

Our room overlooked the Potomac River, which is the second time I have seen the river. The view of the Woodrow Wilson Bridge at night was quite beautiful. Our room was inviting. We definitely would return another time to stay in your facility.

The hotel itself was fine. I had prepaid for 2 breakfast buffets on line when I registered. When I arrived, the clerk gave me one card for breakfast (which I assumed was good for two people) The next morning the restaurant needed an additional card. They called the desk and were told that I was not going to get another card therefore I needed to pay […] for one breakfast. I had to leave my table and go downstairs to straighten it out which I did. I did not like that at all. Mehr

Before we reserved the hotel we contacted them about the cost of the breakfast for us and out two kids. We were told if we booked the hotel with the breakfast for 2 included our kids would eat for free because they were under 12. The first morning as we were finishing breakfast we then received a bill for our kids. We brought to the hotel's attention […] the conversation we had regarding the free breakfast but they didn't seem to care and were not going to waive the cost the the kids to eat. It wasn't a huge dollar amount but in the end it cost us an extra $120 for the week. On top of that we were there for 7 night and days and the breakfast buffet never changed. Overall the room was nice and we had a nice view of the Potomic, but the service and extra charges were out of line. We will not be staying with Crowne Plaza again. Mehr

The bathroom was small (although quite clean). I think there should have been free internet access on the lobby computers (I knew not to expect it in the rooms). While the hotel may be technically in Alexandria's "Old Town" it's really quite a hike to the part of old town where the attractions are.

I was a little nervous of my hotel selection at first because of the inexpensive rate and a couple of unsatisfactory review I read online. However, we had a great overall stay at this hotel. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Our room was clean, modern and had a great view of the water and DC. We we're across the hall from the elevator AND ice […] dispenser but never heard a sound. I would definitely stay at this hotel again. Mehr
