Marriott Baltimore Hunt Valley - Hunt Valley

I have stayed here several times in the last few years. Nice hotel in Baltimore northerm suburbs. Comfortable and well-maintained, although its 80's origin decor is starting to look a little dark for today's tastes. It is a very good value.

My girlfriend and I stayed on a Saturday night and the service was excellent!

this place needs a lot of updating.

We were celebrating my daughter's 10th birthday with friends. The girls had a wonderful time swimming in the indoor pool and watching movies in the room. The next morning, we enjoyed a lovely breakfast at the hotel's Cinnamon Tree Restaurant.

We are quite familiar with the area and knew the hotel was central to our planned visits. The room was comfortable and clean and we apid for the breakfast upgrade and it was exceptional compared to the other locations we have stayed.

My wife and I enjoyed a decent stay at the Hunt Valley Marriott, however, we were left wanting a little more given the name and repurtation about the Marriott Corporation. The indoor pool closed at 9pm, it's hard to mess up bacon and eggs (breakfast was "eh, at best"), decor seemed very old and obsolete. Overall, decent.

The hotel is not bad but Im not recommending it personally because the the customer service at check-in was horrible. The woman was very rude. Couldn't believe it coming from such a reputable brand.

My husband and I were very pleased with our accommodations at Hunt Valley Inn. It was very clean,had restaurants on site,free wi-fi,was close to a nice shopping center and very convenient to I-83. Everyone at the desk was very helpful during our stay. We would have loved to stay longer,and intend to return on our next trip to Baltimore.

I wish it was just one thing, but it was several items that can only describe our stay as lacking. Service being the worst of all. We traveled from the west coast to Baltimore for a wedding. We arrived at the hotel at 1 a.m. after more than 13 hrs. of travel. We had requested a roll away bed for our son which I confirmed with the hotel. I asked if it […] was in the room when we arrived. The clerk said there was a note on our reservation for one so there should be but if not just call. Arriving in the room we noticed no bed so I called and she said she would send one up right away. 25 minutes later I called again still waiting for the bed she was surprised it was not there so she would find out where it is. After another 20 minutes, I called again in which she responded it was in route. When the bed arrived there was no mattress pad just a thin sheet you could see through covering the mattress in which I was presented with another sheet to use should I want more padding. The room itself seemed tired - there were burnt out lights, the lamp was broken in such a way that you could potentially received a dangerous shock plus the coffee station had not been restocked and we were missing bath soap. Each day that we were there, I had to call and ask for the coffee packets and coffee cups. The last day is when bath-size soap was put in our room. As for our experience with food & beverage, the service was poor. We arrived in the hotel bar later in the evening to have a night cap and two servers walked right by us not even acknowleging our presence. After sitting there for several minutes, I was just getting up to ask if we could order and the waitress decided to walk our way knowing the whole time we were there. We found the service to be rude and pretenious. The one positive note I could make is that whenever I did call the front desk to request something, the clerks were most pleasant even though the hotel was not ver efficient. Mehr

A very comfortable, spacious room, quiet, clean and pleasant. Staff were friendly. Semi-rural setting but convenient to downtown Baltimore. On a day off I enjoyed exploring winding country roads just north of the hotel. A good value. Definitely will stay there again.

we reserved- and paid for- a king deluxe suite, but when we checked in - at 3p they had no kings available. if it had been 9p, It would have been conceivable, but at this early hour we all know the room could have been reassigned.

overall the hotel was "ok" the front desk seemed somewhat unorganized giving me the wrong room upon check-in and not giving my breakfast vouchers. when i returned to the front desk to correct the situation, i was given the felling that i was "annoying" them. long wait for bellhop service, a manager of sorts assisted us to our room, tried to take us […] to the other elevator to get us there a little faster, however the hotel has only one elevator. you may think that an employee might know that. so we got a little tour on the way. But after the process of getting settled in everything was fine. Hotel needs a bit of updating, but overall it was fine. Mehr

Very fine. Only three miles to the Johns Hopkins facility in Lutherville.

There was a wedding here the night we stayed here and they weren't fond of my children being in the lobby, and told us that. That was irritating. The layout is really weird and you can easily get lost in this place. They were very informative about Hurricane Irene and anything someone staying there needed to know. They didn't offer any breakfast, which […] was absurd. The price was right. Go eat at Wegmans. Mehr

This is an older Marriott Hotel so don't expect it to be the nicest one you have ever stayed at. That being said, it was a good hotel for the money and the service and staff did an excellent job.

The room that I was in could have used some remodeling. The bath had lots of mold in the grout around the shower tiles which was extremely off putting.

One hurricane can knock out power -and with no electrical power ... for us ... no water .... we immediately left home and went and stayed at the Marriott Hunt Valley. This is the place to stay. The place is beautiful, the pool and restaurant relaxing and first class, the location outstanding. The staff go out of their way to make the services magical […] and the one thing that kept us going and kept our morale up was simply spending four days there ... the stay couldn't have been more perfect. No one wants to be left out in the dark and for us it was the perfect solution. We definitely will go back for a mini vacation there. It is simply the place to go in Maryland! Mehr

the light rail was easily accessible from the hotel, there is a shuttle to take you to the light rail stop.

Nice stay for one or 2 nights. Beds a bit soft.

I think where the hotel was located it was great, it's just I really feel that the room was not worth the amount of money that was charged for one night. In my room there was only two draw backs the first is there was garbage in one of the garbage cans in the room (if I am paying top dollar for a room that should not have happened). Also the A/C thermostat […] was broken. Other than those two things the customer service was great!! Mehr

I liked the hotel, I only have 2 minor complaints; I'm 6'1" and the ceiling in the shower is no more than 6'6" it felt very claustrophobic, my other problem was getting around the hotel too many hallways without clear signs, I was there for a conference and without the very helpful staff i would have been lost.

Have stayed there several times. Very consistent hotel. High quality, friendly, and convenient.

We had to stay overnight on Christmas Eve and were pleasantly surprised for a stocking filled with water bottles, snacks and fruit for each room upon our arrival. And later when returning to our rooms, we found Christmas cookies! What a nice touch for those traveling during the Holidays!

Make sure you print out your confirmation and take it with you. No problem with check in or rate however they had no record that my reservation also included the free breakfast for two. Evidently you are given the breakfast passes at check in and I didn't get them. AFTER breakfast we were going to be charged in the dining room. I went to the front desk […] and showed them the printed confirmation and they honored it--otherwise I would have been charged $15.00 per person. Mehr

Staying at this hotel was a very nice experience. The service was wonderful. For example, when I had dinner leftovers which I needed to keep cold, I rang the front desk and a portable refrigerator (no charge) arrived at my room within 10 minutes. The housekeeping staff was also very friendly and helpful - something I am not accustomed to. I especially […] liked the down pillows and comforter which made it easier to relax away from home. My only negative comment about the hotel is that the locker room in the pool/hot tub area had an unsual smell about it, probably due to the building's age/length of use. I should have brought a lock to secure my items in this locker room and wish I had brought sandals to avoid touching the floor - it didn't look very clean. Mehr

My daughter and I just completed a 6 day, 1,400 mile college tour trip through New England and the East Coast. We were able to make a last-minute reservation at the Marriott Hunt Valley through Hotels.com, at an excellent rate considering the quality of the hotel. We had driven from Concord, MA to Baltimore that day, and stopped at two colleges along […] the way. We were exhausted. The staff was excellent, the room was ready for us when we arrived, very comfortable. We watched the Phillies beat the giants - boo, since we're from the San Francisco Bay Area! (Redemption was ours, however, when the Giants won the pennant!!) My daughter ran down to the gym after the game to work off 3 days of fast-food. Then a great night's sleep, and we were off and running the next day. All in all a great experience. Mehr

There was only one complaint about the room we had, and that was that there was no fan in the bathroom to remove moisture from a warm shower, or the fan wasn't functioning. Otherwise we had a very pleasant stay at a very pleasant and clean hotel. We don't travel often, so we're particular when we do, and we had fun and got our room at a great discount […] through Hotels.com compared to what we were being asked to pay at the hotel serving the wedding we were attending. I was surprised at the hotel. It was confortable, but rather run down. Breakfast was not included in my rate and was $15.95 per person. But it fit what we needed.

The hotel was very quiet and comfortable, with rooms on one side of the hotel and meeting rooms on the other side. Staff was always helpful and friendly. There is a shopping center down the street, too. We will be staying here again.

HUGE Hotel! Very nice, and clean. Plenty of parking , reasonable rates.

The hotel has a large footprint. The elevators are few and far between, and the nearest parking may or may not have an elevator nearby. The rooms have not been remodeled in quite some time (chipped lamp bases, dinged up furniture, etc.) but the rooms are clean and the linens were great. The first room I was given had ants, but I called down to the […] front desk and they sent someone up with new keys to a new room right away. Mehr

After reading reviews, I was well prepared for what I was getting. The rate I got was outstanding and the quality was sufficient. I did not use any of the amenities but the fitness room looks very nice. The room was clean though it could have used a little TLC, i.e. fresh paint on the doorframes, the paint was peeling on the back of the bathroom door, […] the shower curtain was falling off half the rings b/c the rings were bent. Overall I was happy with what I got for the price and I would stay again. Mehr
