Eastland Suites Hotel & Conference Center - Bloomington

We stayed here for my son's graduation from ISU. I wish we had found it sooner! The loft suite with 2 king beds, 2 baths and full kitchen was a bargain, and was a perfect place for the family to gather. There are even grills if you want to cook out. The hotel staff was wonderful and helped me get a last minute dinner reservation on graduation day - […] Jim's Steak House was right around the corner and perfect! I did not enjoy my stay at Eastland Suites. The fan was so loud in my room that I could nto sleep. The lobby was under construction, so there was no hot breakfast and no cokctail, as promised. The workout room, which they pormised me at registration, oconsisted of 2 pieces of equipment, one of which was not working. My room was in a building separate […] fromt he lobby, so I had to go out in the rain and cold to go to the lobby. All in all, I was very disappointed with my stay and would not stay here again. Everyone kept saying "That's weird, they just had a major renovation 2 years ago" but that didn't explain why our sheets had multiple holes in them, the tub would collect ankle deep water within a minute of showering, incorrectly-installed shower curtains that make the towel rack completely covered in rust, a toilet seat that was very very worn and […] used, cracked and peeling paint in the bathroom, etc etc. (I have taken pictures to send to guest services). The staff was fantastic, the amenities were great - free drinks and awesome breakfast! It's just that I would not have expected the "old" feel and lower-quality room(s) that I got at Eastland Suites. If this had been a Motel 6, or Super 8, etc I probably wouldn't have batted an eye, I just expected a little better quality here. We stayed in the rooms in Building #9. I have been in the other building's deluxe suites and have been very impressed in the past FYI. Mehr

Very friendly staff. Probably a little more worn than a "name" hotel such as Marriott, Hampton Inn, etc, but a great deal for the price. Location is central to pretty much everything in the Bloomington Normal area. Especially convenient for the airport.

Nice stay, hotel had an unusual lay out as all rooms were not under one roof but otherwise, clean, functional and outstanding staff. The breakfast area is quite small so best to get there early, otherwise, no issues at all.

For the price it simply was not well kept. The room was damp and musty and I woke up feeling like I'd slept outside and had a dew covering me when I woke up.

my wife and i concluded a long weekend with our stay here. It was the perfect place for us to be able to relax together. As I drove up, I did not have a sense of comfort. It was at night and the Eastland is actually a converted apartment complex. Dimly lit and in a dark run down neighborshood. As most apartment complexs, the doors all faced out exposed to whoever wants to come knock. Not a very secure feeling. Even the "office" was not inviting. I felt so uncomfortable […] that I didn't even go into the "office" and went and found another hotel near the airport and still paid for the Eastland as it was a package deal. Pictures do not aways tell the tale. I should have paid more attention to the number of stars and read the reviews. I will next time. Mehr

Based on the name of the facility and the on-line description, I expected a suite, but found a rather small, but comfortable hotel room. The rooms were comfortable and they did put our parties' 3 rooms close together which we appreciated. If you are booking, be sure to clarify what kind of accommodations you are booking. The Eastland Suites Hotel is okay, but not great. I didn't particularly like my room; the TV was an old model with fairly poor resolution. The bedding was the worst part though. The mattress pad kept coming off and bunching up. I had to reattach the pad and the sheets at least six times. The blankets were kind of old and the sheets didn't feel good. […] The pillows were hard. The maid service wasn't very thorough. There was trash left on the floor twice, the bed was poorly made. They only gave me one skinny bar of soap for both bathing and sink use. So I won't be going back there again. There are many other choices in that area that I will use next time. Mehr

We used this trip for our 23rd anniversary. When we checked in we found no chairs on the patio. Since we were also using our kitchen to make a steak dinner we found there was no broiler pan in the stove. We calledthe front desk and within 15 minutes we had both, and the pan was brand new. Had a very comfortable stay. Very clean. Not even a crumb under […] the sofa sleeper as we moved things around for our night of romance. Upon reading other reviews we found that the hotel had either very quiet guests (as the hotel was pretty ful)l or the walls are not as thin as all the reviews say. The next morning we asked for a late check out and was given til 1:00 p.m. without question. We left the next day. giving the staff awesome kudos for a great job all around. We continued our trip to another hotel further south and the next day was when I remembered I had left my bathing suit cover up in the room. Already 24 hours had passed and I thought for sure it was gone. But.. after 3 phone calls the hotel made to me, they did alot of checking for us in all the places we had been as well as our room and within 2 hours it was found and waiting for me at the front desk so we could pick up on our way home the next day. The staff went above and beyond and were so pleasant, but even more important they were happy.. I only have a few names, but alll the staff that were there on that weekend deserve to be commended!! Although the Eastland Suites has been in Bloomington for many years, the overall maintenance of the property seems to be very well done. The staff was very friendly and my suite was neat and clean. Upon check-in I was upgraded from a double room to a king suite. The area is quiet and the room was very comfortable.

My family recently stayed at the conference center, and we were initially very impressed with the property. However, we requested a roll-a-way bed for my daughter, and when the front desk personnel told us it would be delivered before our return from dinner, we believed him. Unfortunately, it was not there, and it was now 9:45 p.m., and we were all […] beat. He commented that he stopped by our room, but since we had left, and he didn't have his master key, he didn't want to go all the way back to get that, so he waited for us to return? It would have been the same amount of travel with the bed either way? The wi-fi was inoperable for the first 24 hours of our trip, which was a big inconvenience since we had a vital bank transfer of funds to make. My husband had to go to the closest McDonald's wi-fi to make the transfer. Then the second day we were there, we didn't get any maid service? So we called, and they assured us that someone would clean the room that afternoon. We left for the cinema, and upon our return (now 7 p.m.), the room was still not cleaned. So we called again, and they said they'd bring some towels, but nothing else could be done at that hour. We had a big mound of garbage since we decided to order pizza to the room, and the garbage cans were very small. I was not impressed with the hotel staff at all, with the exception of the excellent servers in the full breakfast area. Mehr

I stayed here for an out of town wedding and was pleasantly suprised. I didn't even feel like I was in bloomington! It seemed like it's own little apartment complex. The rooms were beautiful and huge (full kitchen, fireplaces, patios) and the beds were great. The staff was nothing but friendly, AND there's a free cocktail hour. What more could you ask […] for? Check-in was handled efficiently and professionally. The room was as advertised, clean and comfortable. Only slight drawback was that my iPad lost the connection to the motel wireless network several times due to poor signal strength.

This hotel is amazing! The king suite with full kitchen is like a little home away from home. Everything you need is supplied, including the log for the fireplace. We have stayed there twice and are looking forward to our next chance to stay in this hotel.

The service when we arrived was very welcoming. The rep explained where our room was, when breakfast was served and cocktail hour. We did not take advantage of the free breakfast or cocktail hour as we went to a different restaurant in the area. The hotel is clean. We booked a standard room with a queen size bed and was upgraded to a king size bed with […] a kitchen. This was a pleasant surprise as I am a diabetic and needed to store my insulin in the fridge. The hotel location is great, close to restaurants, shopping and the coliseum which was the reason for our stay. We were attending two concerts at the coliseum. The location is also close enough to Springfield to enjoy the Abraham Lincoln museum which we took advantage of also. We will definitely book there again. Mehr

Requested a first floor room and was given a second floor room in another building. Not very handy for the pool or complimentary breakfast as it was raining. No sidewalks or lights from lobby to hotel rooms. Trees and shrubs were overgrown and created an unsafe feeling while walking between buildings at night. One small bar of soap provided for two […] sinks and bathtub. Hotel clerks were not at all friendly- it seemed as if they were doing me a favor by waiting on me. The "hotel" itself is setup very unusually in sort of a condominium style with several different units. The Building where our accomodations were appeared as if it had the most rooms but it was all arranged very cramped and there was not much comfort. Also, a BIG issue was the noise factor...several unsupervised children were running up & down the halls […] and what sounded like jumping off their beds in the room above one of our rooms and you could HEAR IT ALL!! The rooms themselves had rusted towel racks in the bathrooms, the sheets had tears/holes in them and the carpet in one room felt very threadbare. The community breakfast area only had FOUR tables in it and was EXTREMELY cramped. With a lot of work, this hotel might be nice but my family & I will not be staying there again anytime soon Mehr

We had a suite with a full kitchen. It was wonderful as we were in town for a family gathering that I needed to prepare food. It would be nice if the kitchen had some towels and kitchen linens. I did not care for the set up of the hotel. Being so far away from the main lobby was inconvenient. The breakfast was good, but the dining area is far too small. I thought the exercise room was too tiny. I ride a stationary bike daily but skipped the day I was there bc I felt claustrophobic in the room. Hotel was very nice. Breakfast was good and service was good. It was a littl inconvenient to have to walk to a different building for the breakfast and front desk, since it was raining in the morning. Other than that everything was wonderful.
