The staff was fabulous. I enjoyed every night I was there. Everything is close by you don't have to travel to far. The pool was fantastic. The service was great. I totally recommend this place.

This hotel has a great location. Close to the ocean, overlooking the golf course and across the street (literally, walk across the street) from Fashion Island. We booked a room with breakfast included and it was well worth it. You can order from the menu or enjoy a very nice buffet breakfast that included omelettes to order and a juice bar with a variety […] of fruits and veggies. There are restaurants and a movie theater at Fashion Island so you can have a nice weekend getaway at this hotel and never have to even get in your car once you arrive. The only thing that could have been improved upon was the bed. It was not bad but the mattress could have been a little more comfy with nicer linens. When we checked in, originally, the staff member told us that he only had a King bed, golf view and no balcony...everything we didn't want. My friend and I were traveling together for the weekend and needed 2 beds, registered online for a ocean view and a balcony. After further review and an actual walk to another option by the staff member..he returned […] with the exact room type we registered for. The first room had a great veiw but then the heater was broken and it was a cold day. We were moved to another room with only a partial view but working heater. A little disappointed.

Easy access to key roads in Newport Beach; Excellent shower heads; helpful staff; parking was rather expensive considering that a mall was right next door.

There was a charge for everything at this hotel. I understood why the room rate was reasonable for this place, once you arrive you will notice that the only thing included in the room rate was a good nights sleep. There was not even basic TV. While the property was nice I don't think I would stay here again. I would be better off staying at a place […] that has a higher room rate and at least getting something to watch for free. Mehr

The staff was outstanding, very helpful, and attentive. We were greeted in our car and informed where to check in and park. The self-park was very easy getting in and out. At check-in, the young lady graciously provided us a room on the 13th floor when we asked for a higher level room. She later saw us in the lobby on our way to dinner and asked how […] we liked our room. The hotel was very clean and beautifully appointed with flowers and had refreshing fruit-flavored water available for guests throughout the lobby. We had a beautiful view of the golf course and lush surroundings. Unfortunately, the "ocean view room" only had a glimpse of the ocean miles away on the horizon. However, this hotel is near the Fashion Island shops and restaurants which is a plus. Even though the room was a little small, overall, we had a wonderful stay especially with the very comfortable beds. The facial and massage at the Blue Spa was relaxing and a highlight of our visit! My wife and I had really bad service from rude employees. I will never go to that hotel again the people at the front desk were not helpful and there was no reason to be so rude to my wife and I . We wanted to leave after an hour of being there.

This hotel was awesome. Clean, friendly, great service. The rooms were very nice, the water pressure in the shower was top-notch, and I haven't slept that well on a hotel bed in a long time. Centrally located with Fashion Island a stone's throw away. I will definitely be staying here again.

My wife and I decided to take a weekend getaway down to Newport. We randomly picked Marriot for price, locale, and reputation. The service was polished & exceptional. We were greeted by the valet, and also a manager at the door, who directed us to another manager about halfway across the lobby, who directed us to the front desk agent for check in. It […] was better than expected service (if not a little "too" over-the-top). The check in process was quick and friendly. While I conversed with the front desk agent, one of the managers chatted with my wife about the hotel amenities. Though she was well informed, my only complaint is that I would have liked to hear the information at the same time; it was a bit distracting for me. Our room was nicely appointed, clean and comfortable. The shower was amazing, the bed and chairs updated and cozy. We enjoyed an ocean view, which was a happy coincidence. We enjoyed the convenience of an on-site Starbucks the next morning. At check out, I noticed that a telecom charge had been added to my folio. I had attempted to connect to the internet with my phone, but declined when I saw the amount of the charge. Apparently the charge occurred automatically even though I tried to back out, and it showed up on my bill. Upon explaining this to a front desk agent at check-out, he happily and quickly removed the charge. Great service at both ends! I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area, and will absolutely return! Mehr

My husband and I stayed here for one night as a quick weekend getaway. We were pleased overall except for the pillows. They looked nice and fluffy, but as soon as I put my head on it, it completely deflated. Even using more than one didn't work. Had a terrible night's sleep. My girlfriend and I decided to take a romantic getaway for Valentines Day and I can honestly say I was a little disappointed. The description did not match the room. In the description it states an ocean view room on the 5-16 floor with a bath tub. When we got there not only was it on the second floor but there was no bath tub. They said the only thing […] they could do was set us up with a double bed with a bath tub on the 5th floor with no ocean view. Im very dissatisfied because of the price I paid. Consider putting electric jugs in the room, not everyone likes a Starbucks Cappucino...refer Black Breakfast Tea. Consider adding a Mini Bar to keep refrigerated items.

Everything was great except I wish the room was bigger. For the amount we paid, I think we should have had a larger room. Another disappointment was no bath tub. Great hotel for an outdoor wedding service that we attended. Location across from Fashion Island Mall is wonderful. Hotel room is not large but adequate. Room has a safe, but no refrigerator. Small appliance to make coffee/hot water is provided. Good restaurant for breakfast buffet on the main floor. Parking is $21/day
