Seagull Hotel Miami Beach - Miami Beach

Um erstmal das Positive vorwegzunehmen: Das Hotel liegt perfekt direkt am Strand, Nachtclubs sind fussläufig erreichbar. Empfehlen kann man das Hotel jedoch niemandem. Wer länger als 2 Tage bleibt, wird gesundheitliche Schäden davontragen. Schimmel an den Wänden, Kakerlaken, widerlicher Gestank und äußert unfreundliches Personal machten es uns nicht […] leicht uns wohlzufühlen. Das Frühstück für 14Dollar ist absolut überteuert und ist kein Vergleich zu dem was man im Gegensatz dazu am Oceans Drive für sein Geld bekommt. Auf keinen Fall mit Kindern einen Hotelbesuch planen. Es ist wirklich gesundheitsschädlich. Wer trotz alledem in diesem Hotel absteigt, sollte darauf bestehen ein Zimmer mit Balkon zu bekommen, da einem hier wenigstens die Frischluft nicht verwährt wird und man die absolut veraltete Klimaanlage nicht in Betrieb nehmen muss. Wir waren vom 15.04. - 19.04.11 in dem Hotel. Die Lage des Hotel ist sehr gut, aber ansonsten eignet es sich nicht für einen längeren Aufenthalt da es nicht sauber, auch sehr abgenutzt und sehr renovierungsbedürftig ist. Das Parken an den Parkscheinautomaten auf dem Parkplatz gegenüber ist auch etwas nervig, da teuer und ständig Parkscheine gezogen […] werden müssen. Sehr schöne Lage, jedoch wurde bei meinem aufenthalt das Zimmer immer nur sehr dürftig geputzt der Balkon sogar niemals. Aber die Lage tröstet über vieles hinweg.

This hotel needs to be totally remodeled or knocked down...old & out-dated...it was gross!

The Seagull was our first stop (3 nights) on a 9 day Florida vacation. The reviews were all over the map so we weren't sure what we were getting into. Surprise surprise - it is OK. Our room with balcony looked over palms to the ocean - perfect spot to drink morning coffee. There is a very nice pool area which you will not know about unless you ask. […] There is outside city parking across the street - not cheap but convenient. The clients were all over the map but not bad until one of them decided to sing The Lion Sleeps Tonight at 1am just down the hall. The immediate impression you get is that the Seagull has seen better days and needs a facelift. Overlook the water damage and chipped paint and you will find this a good value for the location, room size, balcony and convenience to South Beach. We moved up Collins into a much more expensive hotel for our last night in Miami and decided that the Seagull would have been just fine. Mehr

although this hotel is close to the beach, the hotel itself is in terrible condition and in desperate need of refinishing. Mold in sthe shower, diry and smells like paint.The staff was not accomadating or polite. There were hidden costs once we arrived including mandatory safe fee. There is no hotel parking only meter parking in lot at $1.75 an hour. […] we were unable to get a parking spot because all spaces were used by people at beach and had to park over 3 blocks away. We didn't stay second night and hotel gave hassel to get out of stay and had to have Hotels.com get us out of second night. Mehr

After reading some horrible reviews, I really expected the worst. While Seagull is certainly what I would refer to as a crappy motel, it was definitely better than I thought. For SoBe its a reasonable price and comparatively well maintained. The reception area and pool are nice, and there is security in the lobby. The only real complaints I had were […] that the towels and sheets were clearly washed but not necessarily "clean". Also I was told that I was being charged an additional safe lock fee of around 2.50/night, but got a $25 dollar charge on my card that was not explained. Also there is constantly the sound of slamming doors. Overall, great location, not bad price, definitely doesnt deserve the horror reviews especially compared to the other motels I saw in the area. if you want to enjoy the nighlife, beaches and rstaurant in Miami Beach this is the perfect hotel, location and price is perfect, no parking and they charge you for a safe even if you don't use it, the check in is by 3:00pm but if you want the room before they charge $28 for. i did no pay for that then i have to wait until 3;30PM BECAUSE THE ROOM WASN'T […] READY. so that sound funny to me anyway like i said before the location and price is ok in MIAMI BEACH Mehr

I was attending a convention at the Miami Beach Convention Center and this hotel is 2 blocks away, so the location was great. It was just 100 feet from the beach so this was GREAT. The lobby was nice, the service was good, the room I stayed in was in rough shape. But I was on the 8th floor and my room looked over the the beach, and that was nice. The management of this hotel is a nightmare. It started with misplaced packages. Then the rude attude of the manager. Finaly after spending hours with fed ex and their tracking system to find out the package was in the managers office the entire time. Now to late to take advantage of the next day shipping I missed my window to exicute an important contract. The […] place was over priced and the service was terrable. Never again Mehr

No hotel parking. 9am you have to put money on your Parking, its terreble. Hotel needs a lot of maintanece looks like A 40 year old hotel with minimum care Owner of hotel needs to remodel badly. This room cost 4 times more than its worth. Except for location Good location terrible hotel...

The stay was nice room was ocean front but you had to pay to park over $30 a day! We also had scam artist put a pizza menu under our hotel door we spent 40 ordered food it was disgusting the hotel informed us they run there bussniues out of there home it was sick! Other than that Miami beach was great

well l ocated , front desk staff very nice, this was our 2nd stay, between 2 of the hottest hotels @ 1/4 the price(you are never in the room anyway), great for young people-amenities eh! but right on the beach & the pool was rather pleasant

Non smoking room but still it was like sleeping in an ashtray. Disgusting. Clean but very old. The paint fell out of the ceiling.

this is a nice hotel the staff was nice and friendly but the rooms could use some up keep

Dirty smelly but if you get a full ocean view for a low low price a couple of nights won't kill you.

I am no way a hotel snob. I want cleanliness, a good location and security. I don't really need all the extra amenities. The Seagull only has location to offer. This hotel was horrible. The hallways look like they haven't been painted in years. The first room we were given had a moldy smell to it. We found that the carpet in the closet was wet. We changed […] rooms and the 2nd room we were given was just a bit better. The door to that lead to outside there was about a inch gap from the base board to the actual door. So, you could see the sun shining in from the outside. The door was poorly secured. We didnt notice this till the next day. We decided to change hotels. I would avoid this hotel at all cost. In my almost 25 years of traveling and staying at hotels this has to be the worse hotel I have stayed at. Mehr

Hotel in great location, staff friendly, clean but needs upgrade. Did not like to pay a surcharge for the use of a safe - just another way to make money.

Depends on what you are looking for. An overnight stay or two nights might be OK, but don't expect luxury. The rooms are more or less clean, but in poor condition and require restauration in my eyes. Simple "repairs" like bath/shower curtain are not taken care of, which cause unaesthetic wet corners in the bathroom.

At the time of our reservation, I made it because because they listed WiFi. This was not the case as it was broken down. They did not offer to lower or remove the $.25/minute charge for the lobby hardline. Manager is not negotiable. Concierge was very helpful, would have liked to see service by the pool as in other beachside hotels...I was informed […] I could have early check in and late check out, this was Not the case.....The Traveler Mehr

Great location and great price considering the location. But after that, don't expect any great accomadations. Hotel in general is run down, rooms are in poor condition. You con walk to the beach or ocean drive.

ESPECIALLY IF IT RAINS, UNLESS OF COURSE YOU LIKE SLEEPING IN A SWIMMING POOL.

Over all the hotel is OK....most of the staff is fine although the condition of the hotel is a bit run down. I had a good experience with the night staff at the Hotel reception. The name of this guy was Christopher. He went out of his way and accomodated me to use his office computer at 1am in the night as I had an emergency situation where my flight […] got cancelled and I had to extend my stay by a day. He was courteous, very helpful and worth a commendation. Mehr

They charge an extra, unavoidable fee of 3usd per night. Run down and a bit dirty but decent location. Can u find another hotel with similar location I would take that

Hotel's lobby is clean, but the room is in poor condition. Do not expect comfort from the mattress nor the pillows. However, the location is great. Right on the beach and close walking distance to the shops and restaurants. The hotel crowd was pretty interesting. Little noisy. Overall, less comfortable than average but good location.

Close to the beach, within walking distance of the Road Mall. Public Trasportation available. and the price is affordable

No parking. It took 2 hrs to find somewhere to park. 4 blocks from hotel. Had to walk.

Honestly its not worth it. The hotel has no parking. To park anywhere you have to pay $1.50 an hour! Basically around $30 a day per parking. They forgot to put towels in our room. Our AC broke down the first night got it fixed twice during my 3 night stay. The security guard wanted all the guest to be out of the pool by 8pm which I became outraged. […] Guy at the front desk said they never closed their pool and kept going back & forth. My shower curtin fell like 3 times and the bathroom was not maintained at all. The elavators take forever and they made a loud noise when hitting the lobby floor. Pros well you have great access to the beach and the beds were super comfortable & clean sheets. The rooms have no microwaves no mini fridges just a dirty coffee maker. I dont think ima ever stay there again bc you think its a deal and its really not. Mehr

for the price its a good hotel, it was clean, location is good right next to the beach and in a few minutes your at ocean drive

The phone in the room didn t work the TV didn t work and when the maintance man came he stated that nothing was working in this hotel the ice machine was not working on any of the floors this has to be one of the worse hotels I Have stayed in and I travel a lot.

Upon arriving to check in noone at the front to check me in. After waiting 5 minutes I was greeted with rudeness. It would have been nice to receive complimentary parking atleast. The hotel smelled like old stale molded popcorn. No ice machine on any floor. When I asked for ice they told me to get some at the hotel bar then yet again I was greeted with […] anoter rude woman that only gave me a hand full of ice that barely made it to Te room before melting. I would never return to this dump. Also when I walked into the room there were what appeared to be coockies crumbs on the comforter. Gross!!!! The only good thing about this place was the convenience proximity o the ocean. Mehr
