Hotel room was clean but small for our expectations.Parking was an issue at first since the garage we were told to park in was full for the entire weekend. Then we decided upon valet since it really was the only option. Nice weekend getaway hotel.

Very close to a lot of activities. Rooms very nice. Maid did not give us enough towels for 4 people one night. Would like a mirror in the main room not just the bathroom (Marriott Baltimore did) so that one person can be blow drying their hair and some one else can also do it or put makeup on. A tad pricey for one nights stay ,but you only live once ! took the family and the adults enjoyed the pool as the teenagers were well being teenagers ......and very close to the White House and within walking distance to everything

We absolutely love this hotel. We stayed during the Easter long weekend with 2 kids. The hotel is so kids-friendly: the kids got gifts upon check-in; there's movie night every night with free popcorn and drinks; there's a balloon man (he's amazing and the best we have seen) by the Avenue Grill making balloon for kids all morning, there are easter eggs […] for grab......The kids love the hotel and we all had a great time! Being so close to the mall and white house is a great plus for tourist. The breakfast at the Avenue grill is a great start to the day. I would strongly advise rethinking the mini bar policy as we spent most of the trip worried that one of our 3 kids would accidentally lift, knock over, or remove an item. Its okay if its in the concealed unit, but having […] it on top of the desk is begging for accident to happen. Mehr

Fantastic location, great service, friendly staff but restaurants limited for an elite hotel. Rooms clean and lobby excellent but common areas need a bit of modernisation.

Where do we begin. Our first trip to DC and could not have picked a better place to stay. Valet parking and bell hop service for luggage to the room. EVERYONE greeted you with a smile and a hello during the entire stay throughout the whole building. Very friendly staff, really seemed to care about you and your stay.! The hotel was GRAND. Huge chandeliers […] hanging with beautiful floral arrangements and marble floors even in the elevators. Over the top with the WOW factor! Concierge desk to field all the quiestions you have and open late til 10 pm. Greeted the kids with complimentary back packs and DC hats!!! Nice touch. Starbucks on site. Elevators with TV's in them. Our room had a view of the Washington Monument that you could see from bed (room 947). Arrived at night so we were pleased to see that the Location was Superb. 1 block from the White House...AWESOME! Caught the open air double decker Tour Bus at the corner. Hard Rock, Fords Theatre, Spy Museum, etc right around the corner. Check out process was a breeze. Room service food was GREAT! IT was worth every penny!Kids enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Exercise room was full of tread mills, weight machines, elipticals. Provided free ear buds and fresh fruit. Towels were always available and warm from the dryers. Parking was $47.20 a night but worth it. Booked the room with breakfast included for $20 extra dollars ( value $70). Great option, the buffet was full of variety and excellent quality. Made to order omelets and belgian waffles. Fresh fruit plus hot eggs, bacon, sausage, cheese blinz, potatoes and then fruit, cereal (cold and hot) and muffin/danish table. Fresh strawberry/banana smoothies while you waited prior to seating. Clown making balloon animals for the kids. Wait was short 10 min at most. Definitely the BEST place to stay! Would stay again in a heartbeat! =) Mehr

I always choose this hotel when I'm in DC for work because it's so centrally located. Very clean hotel. Great service from staff. It's a solid four-star hotel. The only downside is sometimes it can be a bit expensive...

It is in a great location to see the sites in DC. We had five people on the reservation, but the room could only comfortably accomodate four. We squeazed in a roll-away by moving some furniture around.

Grandma wanted us to break up the long drive back from Disney WOrld. WOW! Grandma knows best. She really picked out a nice Hotel. It was the one she picked to stay in when her sister won the Presidential Award in Wash.D.C. . Apparently Grandma wont stay anywhere else. She order it online for us. Thank you Grandma!!

Hi, Stay over MLK weekend. Did the "Kids Eat Free" program. Very good location, two block walk to White house, 4 blocks to National Mall. Room was average size, 2 double beds, and small bathroom. We ate breakfast and dinner twice at Hotel. The staff was fantastic.

This was a fabulous hotel for my husband,myself and our three young children. The location was brilliant and the neighbourhood felt extremely safe wonderful hotel pool and Starbucks is a real plus.

We stayed in the JW Marriott DC on New Years Eve 2011 and I must say this hotel is very nice. From the desk staff, valet parking, room service and it's location everything about our stay was top notch. I would definitely recommend staying here to everyone who visits DC.

My date and I had a GREAT experience (It was New Years Eve)...the gentleman at the front desk (could you find out his name he was FANTASTIC!!! We checked in at 3:45am, he was beyond courteous and pleasant...he was so helpful, he should get a copy of this for his file...he represents J.W. Marriott Washington DC extremely well!). My only complaint is […] that our sheets had what looked like cigarette burns in them. Whoever is responsible for that department might want to be made aware of that. Thanks. Mehr

Very understated and elegant hotel in the heart of Washington, DC! The staff is attentive and the service is great! The location is excellent as well to all major sites.

Great location if you are on vacation and want to walk to everything on the mall, literally a block from the White House. I visited with my two kids who both had a great time in the pool!

Great location, friendly staff, reasonable price..

The front desk personnel were friendly and helpful. The location is good for the mall and great for the White House. The room wasn't large, but had two double beds and was comfy enough for a one night stay. We upgraded to a room-with-a-view with buffet breakfast included and felt it was worth the extra cost. We would stay there again.

Very comfortable, walking distance from the major sights in D.C., close to a few nice restaurants too (recommend Finemondo, Italian restauratn just around the block, not cheap but tasty and good service), pleasant, helpful and thoughtful staff, no complaints although you should be prepared for a long wait at the valet parking when they have to retrieve […] your car if the local traffic is busy (the communication about this could be much better handled - i.e. an electronic noticeboard displaying ETA for your car so customers could go back inside and get a coffee if it tels you it's looking like 40 minutes). Also they have limited space to work in at the valet parking area when it's busy, just the way it is... Overall very satisfied and would recommend the hotel to anyone looking to visit the city based on my experience. Mehr

Upon arrival my door key would not work. Maintenance was on it within 1 minute and the hotel offered me anything from room service for my inconvenience. Great location! Good staff. My only issue was the shuttle service to the airport which the hotel does NOT operate, but they did schedule for me. The driver got lost going to the airport! Not JW's fault […] but they do align themselves with this agency, so hence the slight downgrade on quality. Mehr

All was great. With in walking distance to sight see. Hotel & staff very helpful. Take your own pillows& a cooler ,No fridge in rooms & no soda mechines ,only in gift shop very $$$$. Parking fee is very very high per nite. Should not be that high if you are staying at the Hotel.Don't forget your credit card.Must have a card for them to hold # and they […] will charge any thing ya touch from mini bar,also the big PARKING fee but will stay again... I have recommended the hotel to others already. It is in a perfect location. When we return to DC we will definately stay at the JW Marriot.

This is an excellent location and the room was very nice and comfortable. Would stay here again.

The hotel is in a perfect location to walk to the Verizon Center and the museums on the mall. All staff were very helpful and very friendly. The hotel was beautifully decorated for the holiday season and our room was very clean and well appointed.

Marriott Downtown Washignton DC - walking distance to all major attractions

This hotel is very close to White house and National theater. It's very convenient. Good service. Early checkin with no additional fee.

J.W.Marriott-Dc downtown was so convenient I came home and told all my coworkers they must stay at your hotel when they visit d.c

I guess this hotel is perfect for a first time visitor to DC.. The front desk girls are very friendly, rooms are clean and fresh, hot breakfast is good though need more choices for a JW Marriott standard compared internationally.... The only thing we feel unpleasant is the door man must be more happy and helpful and serves up to the name.. Meanwhile […] the rest is perfectly pleasant... Mehr

Very enjoyable stay. Courteous staff, good on site restaurant. Room somewhat small, but clean and comfortable. Important sites easily accessible. Would recommend to others and would stay there again.

Loved that the check-in staff gave my kids souvenir surprises when we checked-in. Great service from staff. Variety of restaurants nearby.

Literally from the minute we drove up into the Valet area to check in on the first day of our stay until we left the parking garage at the end of our visit, we had an absolutely PERFECT experience!! We were greeted by the valet who explained the parking situation (either they can park your car for you, or you can swing around to the parking garage and […] park it yourself - either way there's a fee, but we expected that). He was very friendly and helpful. I walked into the hotel (which is beautiful!) and up to the front desk where I was greeted by Darnell. It was as if he was excited to see me! I happened to mention that I was there with my partner and we were in town to celebrate our anniversary, and he immediately ordered champaign and chocolate covered strawberries to be sent up to our room, and gave me a black card with a silver pen so that I could write my partner a note to put with it. Our room was beautiful - plenty of room to move around and our view was stunning - we looked out our window and were greeted with the Washington Monument. Every time we needed or wanted something, the concierge and front desk staff were there to take care of us. I am very picky when it comes to hotels and am quick to point out when something isn't quite right. Our stay in DC was absolutely wonderful and I think the staff at JW Marriott for helping to make i tthat way. Mehr

The hotel is an ideal tourist starting point. You can walk to every attraction and more restaurants than you'll need. Only 2 downsides: 1)No Continental breakfast. No grab and go. 2) $13 a day for internet. A 5 day stay would be more than my monthly bill at home. They need to work this. They also have a strange in-room snack/wetbar. If you MOVE an item […] and don't get it back in 15 seconds, you're charged for it, so it is NOT kid friendly. They have a GREAT digital elevator system. You put in your floor and it assigns you an elevator. We never waited more than 20-30 seconds. Very nice people at the desk and the Concierge was helpful. All in all, I was very pleased! Mehr
