The valets were the most helpful, cheerful staff anyone could want to meet - outstanding. The desk check in staff were some of the most miserable, lousy staff that one could deal with - acted like it was a favor for checking you in.

We just popped in and out after a night in town, but the room was very comfy & the location is excellent.

They have no two bedroom suites available. TV kept shutting off randomly. Room service orders wrong...etc

Great Hotel. Very clean and staff was very helpful. Only downside was parking. Hotel doesn't have their own parking garage so you have to pay for the city garage right beside hotel or find parking on downtown road. Luckily it's free parking on weekends in the garage so if you are only staying for the weekend you won't have to pay!

I was there to attend a convention that would end at 9:00 p.m. I had checked with the front desk to make certain that there would be some place available in the hotel to get something to eat at such a late hour. I was told that the Grill would serve until 11:00 Well by the time I got back to the hotel, it was 9:45. The grill was open. However, there […] were only two people working; one of which left the bar area and started busing food orders back and forth. The Marriott was a nice hotel... in 1995. The rooms are clean and the staff is helpful but the rooms need updating. No flat screen TVs in the rooms, the lobby looks dated and so does most of the furniture and fixtures. The hotel is in a great location and I would probably stay here again... but they really need to bring this hotel into 2011.

The facility is clean and family oriented. My 3 yr. old could swim in the pool and had a wide choice of breakfast food in the morning (hotel restaurant). The bed is very comfortable per 3 yr. old. Hotel was walking distance to shops and other restaurants. We enjoyed our stay very much.

This hotel is convenient to the university, and it is on Main street with shopping and restaurants. The hotel also has a convenient airport shuttle.

This was a great buy and a fine hotel. Staff was courteous, room was clean and in good shape. We would stay there again and recommend it to others. One down side was being panhandled in the entrance to the hotel.

Everyone from the check in all through out the hotel where great - knowing how hard it is to work christmas eve and day these people went well above the call of duty - they where all great. Marriott should be very proud of them.

The Columbia Marriott is located right in the middle of downtown and convenient to the Vista and USC Campus. However, the rooms are outdated and definitley up to Marriott standards.

The southern hospitality we experienced was real and not contrived, fantastic breakfast buffet and a beautiful lobby, the guest rooms were average but all in all the place was great.

Excellent staff, moderately priced breakfast buffet that was excellent. Very nice indoor pool. I would recommend this hotel without reservation.

The hotel appears to have gone through a renovation in recent years, and did a good job as far as the rooms and lobby area. The staff was very nice and friendly, and the room was very comfortable. Unfortunately, the elevator and entrance coming into the hotel (out of the parking garage) is dirty, outdated and dark. Also, the pool and pool deck were […] dirty and in need of repair. The hotel is very convenient to the USC campus, but the surrounding downtown area was somewhat deserted as it was a weekend. I would recommend a stay in the hotel at a discounted rate. Mehr

IT was a very hot weekend and the hotel was overbooked. The AC must have been overtaxed because the room never got raly cool. Maybe 77 Degrees F. Also, there were only 2 bath towels- no washcloths I was too tired to do anything about it.

Beautiful hotel. Only complaint I have is that the fitted sheets did not fit on the bed! Otherwise it was a great place to stay.

The shower curtain in the bathroom was dirty, there were someone's knee highs left on the floor, the room was extremely dusty and small. The parking was a hassle.

This hotel was in a fairly good location, although downtown Columbia is trying to rehab a bit so there is not a lot going around the hotel especially on the weekend. Nothing is too far away though. Rooms not large but clean and well decorated.

The rooms were large and extremely clean. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. Hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. The pool was clean, large and uncrowded.
