Holiday Inn London-Kensington Forum - London

I have stayed at the HI Kensington Forum on and off many times over the past 6 years and this time have found that it was not up to the standard it used to be. For example, our room had no refrigerator and when one was delivered upon my request it didnt really work. The telephone was faulty with a loose wire and could not be relied on, the water pressure […] in the shower was very poor and the quality of the buffet breakfast in the dining room has greatly deteriorated in selection. The best thing about the hotel was the concierge (Allan) who was a wealth of knowledge, very helpful and a joy to talk to. Mehr

This BIG hotel is very near a tube station, has friendly staff, room was clean and fairly quiet, and basically I had no complaints other than Wi-F in the rooms was not working while we were there.

Excellent location, good value for London, 2 mins from Natural History and V&A Museum's. Early check in - arrived at 9.30am!!!. Great room, clean, well equipped and late check out. Only negative was that the water was warm and not hot.

This is definitely a 4-star hotel. Our room was a bit small, but nicely appointed: king-size bed, flat screen TV, a sofa and a shower. This was better than any Holiday Inn I've ever stayed in. Two highlights: for $10/night we received a full, hot breakfast in their large breakfast room and their concierge staff were very helpful. The hotel is a block […] away from the Gloucester Road tube station and is a 7-minute walk from the Victoria & Albert Museum, the Natural History Museum and the Science Museum. The hotel is nice and modern, clean and well presented. The rooms are small although very nice and recently refurbished with very comfy beds. Well located hotel, 2 mins from tube station. However I booked us a king size room via hotels.com, but when we arrived at the hotel they were going to put is in a standard english double bed (4' 6"). In the end […] they upgraded us to an "executive" queen room and we were able to move to a king room on the 2nd night. I booked this hotel as it was one of the few offering king size beds, so it was very annoying to get there and find that they only have king beds in their suites. They also wanted to charge a lot for using internet, there was no free wireless not even in the lobbey. At GBP 10 per day i thought it was too expensive. Mehr

I spent four nights at this hotel. I was skeptical about booking, as the rate for this part of London was low. The reviews on this site were favorable, so I decided to give it a try. Big mistake on my part. I should have paid a few more bucks and stayed at the Marriott. The room was fine, very small but clean, looked like a room that you would get […] on a cruise ship. Hallway smelled like an ashtray. The treatment I received by the concierge staff made my blood boil. A simple request for them to help me find transportation to the airport almost turned into a boxing match. The man would not help me. I had to find transportation on my own. The problem was the transportation service I found had to be arranged by the hotel. It wasn't until I raised my voice and called the hotel manager did they arrange the service. No apologies from the hotel for how I was treated. If you plan on staying here, I hope you have a better experience. I will never stay at a Holiday Inn again, in any country. The room was large enough to be comfortable but poorly laid out which meant we were dodging around each other at times. Suppose this is to be expected from a standard double in central London. One thing I didn't like was the sliding door on the bathroom which was stiff and didn't give much privacy. Also water pressure in the bath / shower very low so […] washing hair took some time! Mehr

Clean, good location, fair price considering the exchange rate.,

We enjoyed our stay in the Holiday Inn , and we will definately stay there again . I have recommended it to friends and family , easy to get to, just off the tube , nice safe area to walk around , excellent staff and good accomadation . Only 30 min by train from Heathrow airport on a direct route .

Very convenient to tube stop and lots of restaurants, pubs, Starbucks. Hotel caters to airline industry personnel. We arrived at 10:30AM from transatlantic flight and were told couldn't get room until 2:00PM while flight attendents immediately checked in. Room very average and could use some TLC and updating. Location – The reason to stay at this hotel or others in the area. Perfect. We took the tube from Heathrow (Piccadilly Line) to a stop 1 block from the hotel (Gloucester Road). You can pick-up one for three tube lines from this station – District, Piccadilly, and Circle. Buy an Oyster pass at the airport and you can get around. Restaurants were close […] by and Waitrose Grocery was next to the tube station. Room – Small as was expected, not enough towels for the two of us but more were quickly provided, stationary only had one sheet of paper and when I asked the front desk if I could have more the women acted as if she had no idea what I was asking. The front desk was the weak link at the hotel. The desk lamp did not work as there was no bulb. I contacted the front desk and they sent maintenance with the wrong type of bulb and when they realized it they never returned so there was no desk lamp the entire stay. Elevators – One was make a scraping noise when the door was opening and it would not open completely, maintenance corrected this within 2 hours. Some reviews stated that the elevators were a problem i.e. full or long delays – we never experienced this. They moved quickly and never waited too long for one. TV – Very small, like the room but again what was expected and not the reason for our trip although we did watch a little TV each night to get a feel for the culture. Electrical – Our room had outlets for UK, Europe, and US plugs very handy for small electronics like ipods or digital cameras not sure about hair dryer. Mehr

The hotel was very close to the underground which was great as you could travel to other parts of London and airports

The first reason to choose this hotel is it's location. This hotel is situated in the beautiful area of Kensington in London. Nice and safe to walk around the surrounding streets and very close to the Natural History Museum (excellent). There are also a few restaurants beside the hotel along with a supermarket and pharmacy. Importantly a tube (underground) […] station is only 2 minutes walk away, which will bring you into the centre of long, it is also on a direct line to London Heathrow airport. The hotel itself is very modern and clean. Our room with a double bed was a bit small, but not cramped. The cleaners forgot to give us new towels and toiletries one day but when I rang reception, the items were brought up immediately. We were on the 2nd floor, so we thought it would be noisy from the traffic outside, but there is an extra window to keep the room quiet. And air con to keep the room cool. I would highly recommend this hotel as it is clean and comfortable, situated in a very nice area, and close to a tube station, and thus all major attractions and London Heathrow airport. Mehr

We were at the non-smoking floor but our room was full of strong smell of cigar, not even cigaratte. I cannot switch on the air con due to the smell. I had complaint at the front desk and they said they will do something after I went out. But what can they do? Spray some freshener to cover it and the smell will soon come back. They have no intention […] to change a room for me. I stayed in such a room for 3 days, really bad. The hotel were renovated but only limited to the lobby, at least my floor and my room were not, and you can tell easily they are old. Mehr

Lots of airline personnel staying here. Starbucks in the lobby. Registration desk personnel were in-training. Three of us were meeting at the hotel coming from different places. The registration desk personnel said one of the members of the party had not checked in yet, when they had. We wasted hours of precious time. Otherwise, the people were nice […] but just didn't know how to read their computer program (or didn't care to help us.) All in all, we liked the hotel and our rooms. Mehr

The hotel services travel groups and forgets about the single traveler and our needs.

Great value, given the average London hotel rates. Location is convenient. Hotel is a block from Gloucester Road Underground station. Biggest complaint is that rooms are somewhat small, especially for more than 2 people. Good service and cleanliness. Peter is an excellent concierge. We really enjoyed the complementary bottles of water, tea/coffee, orange […] juice and KitKat bars in our room. There is a convenient supermarket a block away on Gloucester Rd. Mehr

Good hotel close to the Metro. Airline crews use this hotel.

The Holiday Inn Kensington hotel was in a perfect location nestled in Central London. It's two blocks away from the Gluocester stop and the stop for the hop on, hop off bus. It is surrounded by a variety of eateries and friendly folks more than willing to assist you. Lastly, it provides English, American and European outlets for all of your gadgets […] and gizmos. Mehr

Overall the hotel was nice, however the room was small. My husband, myself and our son stayed at this hotel, when the sofa bed was open for my son to sleep, there was no room to walk around his bed to go to the bathroom, we had to walk over his bed to get to the other side.

The hotel met my expectation. Air conditioning worked very well. The only problem I encountered was that I thought I had booked the room with breakfast included. When I arrived I was informed by the hotel that hotels.com never books with breakfast. Led to some confusion. I still don't know if I did or didn't pay for breakfast when I booked with hotels.com? […] I know that I checked the box for breakfast on the applicaton. Mehr

We purchased their "vouchers" for breakfast in the hotel. We usually eat a light breakfast, so for us, this was overpriced. However, it was very convenient. Room was cleaned daily and did a great job. Very close to the tube--one block away. Cabs were always there, even in very early hours when we left for the airport. The hotel is correctly priced for its qualities and service. It is well positioned for use of the London underground and is near the Picadilly line service to Heathrow.

Fist and foremost, DO NOT ever going to that terrible Hotel. I reserved that hotel 1 month ago with "NON SMOKING ROOM" on Hotel.com site When I arrived that hotel they gave me a smoking room. So I want to change my room for non smoking room. But they told me, there were no non smoking room. And they did not apologise. What they excuse was? They said, […] Because of hotel.com made a reservation for smoking room. I knew that they had over book that date. It was obvious that they fault. If they had seriously aplosize me, I probably accept it. I slept at strong sting smoking room. It was nightmare ever in my life. In addition, when I checked out, I gave them a complain latter with my e-mail address. But I have never got any response until now. My trip was for my first anniversary. I was sorry to my wife. It everything was my fault. because I made a reservation at worst Hote. Do not made a mistake! Mehr

Små rom

Bodde her 3 netter i februar 2012. Hotellets personale er serviceinnstilte og imøtekommende. Puben er OK og har et godt utvalg av øl. Mange amerikanere som jobber for et flyselskap frekventerer den. Rommet var stille, hadde gode, komfortable senger, valg mellom myke og harde hodeputer.

Súper bien ubicado, pero los cuartos están chiquitos.

Välskött hotell med rena rum. Inget att klaga på förutom att det var dyrt med WIFI. Annars tycker jag att servicen var utmärkt och de svarade gärna på frågor och hjälpte till bäst de kunde. Hjälpte även till med bokningar när det behövdes. Hotellet är väldigt mkt högre än omgivningen, så man har fin utsikt över staden, när man har rum högre upp vilket […] vi hade. Mehr

Min 5te gang i Kensington, og mitt 4 hotell. Marriott hotellet som kan sammenlignes var selvfølgelig ett "bittelite" hakk bedre med basseng, men til doble prisen. Rommet på Holiday er større og samme kvalitet i denne sammenligningen. Restaurant og pub i Holiday inn er av den koselig innredete sorten, noe vi satt stor pris på. Området rundt hotellet […] byr på mange spisesteder, puber og andre fasiliteter. Fra Heatrow tas t-banen (tube) til Glouchester stasjon direkte uten bytte på ca 40 minutter. Herfra går du til hotellet på 5 minutter, genialt. Det er gode spisesteder rett rundt hjørnet, både grillrestauranter og italienske. Gå- avstand til Harrods med alle butikkene i området rundt. På vei dit passeres Darvin museet som også er verdt en tur innom ( en lang tur). Mehr

The location of this hotel is good, very close to Glouster underground station (within 2 to 3 min walking distance). The room is considered a little bit small but it is at London what can you expect. I will consider this hotel next time.

Sentralt hotell men veldig gode "tube" forbindelser. Veldig bra frokost.

위치나 주변환경은 양호한 편. 시설은 다소 낡은 편 대형호텔이며 친절하거나 그렇다고 눈에띠게 불친절하지도 않음. 런던시내 구경하기 편리함. 히드로공항과 런던시내사이.
