Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort - Lake Buena Vista

I would put this in the same catagory as a Super 8! The WORST Disney Hotel I have ever stayed in! DIRTY, BADLY needs remodeled! HORRIBLE! DO NOT STAY HERE! I called and complained as I don't normally do - and we were upgraded to one of the newer remodeled Pirate rooms. This Disney resort is VERY spread out! NOT in anyway convienient for transportation! […] Maids were in room next to us late at night stripping down the beds - mattress pads, comforters and all! Not sure why?! Hello we booked 2 rooms we need internet access for our business and this hotel charges for internet but neither room had working internet access both had broken cables and we have to wait for repairs to be made one of the room doors would not lock even with the dead bolt you could just pull the handle and open the door without the room key again we […] had to wait in the room for repairs very unlike the Disney we are used too :( Mehr

Room was no better than neighboring off site hotels, but was about 25% more expensive. Though a king size was requested/specified, they wanted to charge extra at check in. The AC was cold but the room always felt damp. This is second time in one year we've had problems on Disney properties. Rooms were very clean and very well supplied with everything that we needed. Lots of things to due for the kids. Each villa has its own pool as well as a beach. If I go back to Disney,I would look in stay at this resort again.

No waiting in line to be checked in; reservation was entirely in order and the process went smooth. Our room was on the first floor, and even tho we signed up for a "regular view", we actually got a "pool view". Everything in working order; everything was nice and clean. I noticed that a few areas in the entire hotel complex needed some upkeep - all […] minor, of course! Because it's Disney, I find it much more noticeable, such as, the bath towels had some "fringe" to them and the rug looked a bit worn in front of the sink. One of the outdoor lights wasn't working and one part of a block of sidewalk was cracked and breaking apart. I'm not complaining, by any means, as everything worked great - it was just a bit surprising to see this @ a Disney hotel! Mehr

This hotel was not up to the level of quality that we have come to know and expect at Walt Disney World Resorts. We had stayed here a few years ago and were surprised to see the level of decline in the overall appearance - both on the grounds and in our room.

People were rude upon checking in, and the concierge who checked balances on two parkhopper passes miscalculated, he told me I had one theme park day and no extras on it and the other one he said had nothing remaining and threw it away. I went to Magic Kingdom and there was nothing on my card at all -- the concierge had given me the wrong card back […] and threw away the good card. Also, once we checked into our room, we noticed it was dirty, looked like it had not been vacuumed, and the shower curtain was absolutely disgusting with mold -- we even took pictures and plan on emailing the hotel with them. We wanted to extend our trip, and had to switch hotels to do so because there was no way we were staying in this hotel with the way we were treated as well as the filthy room. Mehr

We got to the hotel early and were able to check in and go to our room immediately even though check in wasn't for a few hours. The room was nice and the hotel was beautiful. The grounds were very well maintained. The pool area was very nice. I would definitely stay here again.

Room size was fine for the little bit of time we were in the room. Deep cleaning of the room was poor. Great to have a refrigerator in the room. Bus stop was easy to access. We stayed in the Aruba complex which was across the lake from the restaurant. Was not too far of a walk to the large pool, store or food. Would stay here again.

We stayed in the pirate themed rooms. My children absolutely loved them. The bus stop was a few steps away and even though we didnt have a water view the garden view was great. The hotel was quiet and peaceful, the staff helpful and prompt. This is a very large resort so to get around within the resort you need to take a shuttle. Each building group […] has its own pool and ours had a playground. However the big main pirate ship pool with slides was at the center of the resort and so we did have to take a shuttle to get to the big main pool or any onsite restaurants. The only negative was that we went with my parents and so we had 2 rooms. They were next door but NOT adjoining so my kids who were back and forth constantly had to go out through the doors and back in, would have been nicer and more convenient to have an interior door. But we got over it quickly, we brought our own big coffeepot and sandwich maker so we brought alot of snacks and food and had plenty of refrigerator and shelf space. We had a great time, the rooms were a good price and I would recommend this hotel! Mehr

Our room was located on the second floor of building 24, but why don't they put signs with room numbers of the second floor somewhere around the front of the building. When you are tired the last thing you want to do is walk around and look for a sign with your room number on it. Although the room was very nice, the air conditioner sounds like a shower […] running continually. It's hard to sleep with this type of noise going on all night. Mehr

Room needed cleaning desperately. Complained twice and they never did it. Ended up insisting on a resort change for a better room.

We told the agent at the front desk that we don't accept text messages on our phones so she said she would call us when our room was ready. She never called and once we realized she wasn't going to call we had to call to check. She said we never told her we couldn't accept texts. My wife and I both told her!!!!!! Other than that, great hotel for the […] money. Great pool too. Mehr

Great Hotel! The bed was comfortable and the setting. Bus service is magnificent. Lots of stores nearby. Food was ok.

We enjoyed our stay. Staff was friendly and courteous. The rooms were nice, however it is not worth paying additional prices for water view. We found a couple spiders in the hotel room, but other than that it was clean. Rooms were usually cleaned after lunch and not early in the morning. I especially enjoyed the paddle boats and canoes. Hotel consists of several villages with two story buildings housing rooms. Each village has central swimming pool, laundry facilities and transportation bus stops that travel to all the disney attractions and run very frequently. The rooms have central A/C as well as a ceiling fan so you can control temperature. Housekeeping was excellent. the room […] had plenty of towels, soap, glasses and cups. As long as you put the do not disturb sign on your door you will not be disturbed. I dont recall hearing noise from other rooms. There is also refrigerators in the rooms. Each village also has a private beach area mostly sand surrounding pond. You can rent sailboats. There is a central village Old Port Royal that has restaurants, shops and an even bigger swimming pool complex with water slides and water cannons. Being a frequent Orlando visitor I didn't utilize the pool or beach areas as I spent days touring other Florida attractions. However, by staying on Disney property, guest can take advantage of Magic Hours. Select Disney theme parks will open an hour early or remain open for two to three hours just for Disney Hotel guests. I spent the afternoons and late evenings attending the disney theme parks. I have stayed at other Disney properties as well and I can't complain about any of my stays. Mehr

The Hotel was nice, It is a little dated as it is one of teh older Disney hotels. The buses for the hotel to and fro to Disney parks were very crowded and since its nots about 10 mins from any park, standing gets quite tiring after you been walking the parks all day. The bed was comfortable and the food court was nice.

I choose this hotel because it seemed to have more activities then others but it didn't turn out as I expected. The kids had a blast in the pool. Hotel theme is very relaxing. My room was on the 1st floor with a lake view and I did not have a problem with people passing by. kids loved the pirate beds! we saw fireworks every night (from a distance). […] Overall we had a great time at this resort. Even though the staff at check in were on top of things. Staff in the food areas did not care if you were served or not. It was like a school camp. Food was poor quality and there was little choice. We did not experience Shutters as this was booked out. The hotel rooms seem run down and walkways were under maintenance making it difficult to walk around. […] Ok for kids with mums and dads if its a short stay. Mehr

This was a great place to stay to get to and from the parks quickly on the Disney buses. The Extra Magic Hours provided to those who stay on Disney property were wonderful. We especially enjoyed the beach and relaxing on the hammock. I would definitely stay here again!

This hotel is way over priced even though we got a room from Hotels.com. You can get a much nicer room for 1/3 the price staying in town. We got a room with a view but if you are on the bottom floor and the only thing in front of the room is a sidewalk, you are not going to see the water because you dont want people looking in your room as they walk […] by. Staying in the Disney grounds in not worth the price. Its not hotels.com's fault. Mehr

We added 2 days onto our Spring Break, stayed in condo for first part of week, wanted to extend our vacation, We thought being in a smaller room after a condo would be little bit of a let down. We loved our stay at CBC. We have stayed at many of the Disney Hotels, Value, Moderate and Deluxe. We were extremely impressed with the CBC. The main pool was […] basically the same pool.slide as you would find at the Polynesian. The room was a step down from the Deluxe rooms but so much nicer than the value resorts. The grounds were beautiful - even with the damage from the cold winter central Florida just had. Food in the Food Court was excellent. Those of you that are experienced Disney travelers - give Caribbean Beach Club a try - only thing missing was the Monorail and view of the Magic Kingdom from feeling like you were at the Polyn, Cont. or G.F. We have stayed at several Disney resorts and really enjoyed Caribbean Beach. The Pirate Rooms were well worth the extra money plus they had refrigerators. The Pool was really great, especially the children's play area. I also loved how the buildings were separated. I felt like I was staying at a private resort, instead of a hotel. There were pools everywhere […] and buses that took you around the property. ****My only complaint; THERE ARE NO ELEVATORS so if you stay on the second floor get ready to haul your things up and down the stairs or pay for luggage service. My kids absolutely LOVED the pool area with the pirate ship and slides. I loved the fact they could play in the water play area and I didn't have to get wet!!I have not seen an area for small kids like that at any other Disney hotel. The restaurant had an hour and a half wait at 8:30pm-- so book early if you want to sit and eat peacefully. The food […] court food was good but hectic when trying to manage small kids and very busy in the morning. The condition of the hotel rooms suprised me for Disney. They definitely show their wear. Wonderful stay

probably one of the best pools...2 slides in the big pool...little kid section is adorable...has 3 little slides of its own in a pirate ship that dumps water from a big bucket every few minutes...very clean, room looked brand new...convenient to everything

The bedds were very hard an uncomfortable.. If your not doing anything at the Disney resort make sure you rent a car or the cost of a taxi cab is ridiculous...

Quiet peaceful retreat from all the activity at WDW

We have stayed at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort several time and it is still our favorite of the Disney 'moderate' resorts. Decor, cleanliness and convienience are all top knotch. A safe bet!

Loved it. Only one small issue that was dealt with quickly and courteously.

Caribbean Beach is still one of the best Disney Resorts,it is clean, and it has a freezer, a ceiling fan (so much needed in Florida) =)

If you have kids, can survive without certain luxuries offered at other hotels, and would like a reasonably priced hotel on Disney property, you should stay at this hotel. The rooms were average hotel rooms, but kids would enjoy the pirate themed beds as well as the pirate themed pool. The food court is within walking distance and had plenty of variety, […] but those with food allergies would struggle at this hotel as it didn't appear that the food court could cater to food allergies easily. All rooms have a fridge, so I was able to save money on food by bringing my own breakfast foods and snacks. The property had lovely grounds that made for a great walk, and you can rent boats and bikes if you need a break from the theme parks. There was plenty of space to relax with multiple beaches and pools. The towels in the room were thin, and you must bring your hotel room towels to the pool. Daily cleaning service began a little early for me (8:30 am). The hotel is great for the price I paid considering it is on Disney property, but I missed a few luxuries that can be found at other Disney hotels(such as a spa and room service). A great option for families on a budget... Mehr
