"No Show error"
I had reservations at this hotel for two nights. We changed our plans and decided to stay only the second night. I called to let the hotel know about our change of plans. I spoke with a woman who said, "I don't think that will be a problem, but let me check." I was left on hold for over 10 minutes and finally hung up. I had given her my name, so I assumed […] that she would make a note that we had informed the hotel of our decision not to check in the first night. When we arrived at the hotel on the second day, we were informed that they had given our room away. The only room available was a smoking room. It was disgusting. I have a four year old daughter and did not want her breathing in the smoke, but we didn't have any other options at that point. There is no warning on the confirmation email I received about no shows. Also, this woman was clearly not well trained, as they apparently keep track of no shows on a regular basis. She shouldn't have needed to check with anyone. Mehr

We enjoyed our stay and would stay at a Doubletree again. Some things we were afraid would be bad (noise, we were staying with our dog on the "dog"floor) did not materialize. We were told if they did they would be addressed. Evening management was great! When making this reservation thru hotels.com it would have been nice to have had more actual in […] fo. Mehr

This is a great hotel....the food in the restaurant is very good, the bed is very comfortable, the fitness center is well-equipped, and the hot tub is actually hot and bubbly! The airport shuttle was great and staff was very friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay here again next time!

I was there to run in a marathon, and I would have like a microwave and fridge in the room. There was plenty of space for it. The room was very clean and nice and the bathroom was great, except that the shower faucette was marked incorrectly for hot and cold,and I waited for ages for the water to warm up until I realised that the tap turned the other […] way. "Tucked between a Walmart and a Sams."
Where do I start....the location was horrible. It was supposed to be close to Monticello....it's NOT. It is tucked between a Walmart and a Sams Club. The room had bugs in it. The entire 4th floor smelled like skunk. They had some kind of dehumidifier running right when you stepped off the elevator. The staff was atrocious. We requested a roll away bed […] for my son at 7:30pm. After 2 phone calls it was 10:30pm when we finally received it. Thank goodness we only stayed 1 night there!! Mehr

Excellent staff, spacious, clean, modern rooms. Well-equipped exercise room and nice (small) indoor pool and spa. Complimentary Charlottesville Airport shuttle. A little difficult to find (GPS takes you to a Walmart located nearby) and my one other issue was with the shower in the room. Even turned to full hot, the shower was lukewarm at best and the […] tub (which looked original to the room) drain was slow so you ended up showering with dirty water up around your ankles. The best thing about staying at the Charlottesville Doubletree? Free shuttle to and from the Charlottesville Downtown Mall, 24/7. Shop at nice boutiques, eat at fine restaurants, bar hop in nice clubs until closing time. Then just call the hotel shuttle, and in no time, you're back at the hotel.

I enjoyed my stay at the Doubletree in Charlottesville. The hotel was clean, the restaurant was nice and the food was good. My daughters team was in town to play UVA and they stayed there too. There were not issue or complaint. I had to stay in a smoking room because that was the only double available. The entire floor was smoky but they did bring a […] machine to clean the air in my room which helped a lot. I knew what I was getting into so the smoke smell did not affect my option of my stay. Hotel was very nice. Loved the chocolate chip cookie upon arrival. I wanted to stay here because they had an indoor heated pool. We went swimming in the late afternoon and the pool was pretty cold. The kids could swim, but not comfortably. Other than that, I would recommend it. Diane

"Mom's Hospital Visit"
Double Tree staff provided the comfort and kindness we needed during our stay. We had van service to and from the hospital and the restaurant was open late allowing us to have a wonderful meal when returning from the hospital. THANKS Bob and Darlene

My son and I came into Charlottesville for the weekend and needed a Saturday stay. Got a good comparable rate. For a couple of miles drive more. Hwy 29 can be very busy though. plan accordingly on the time. Friendly, fast check in. Greet you with the famous delicious cookie. Hotel was nice and seemed to be well kept. The room was clean and had everything […] I wanted including some complimentary toiletries if I needed them. Nice little Wolfgang puck coffee maker and little fridge.32" Flat screen TV and nice beds. The only things that were minus points were the Ice machines were not all working. I had to go two floors away to find one that worked. Also the bathroom Fan and hot lamp did not work in my room. i like the towel rack shelf in the shower/tub area though. Towels were softer then most hotels too. Parking was bit of a hike so use the drop round about. Department stores and mall real close. Hotel is rated true on the star scale Mehr

My husband and I recently visited Charlottesville for a mini weekend gettaway. We picked the Double Tree because they are pet friendly, so we didn't have to board our dog. The room was very clean! This stay was thankfully only for one night. My non-smoking room (at end of hall in older section) smelled like smoke, heating unit was very loud throughout the night, internet did not work in room, hallway, room and bathroom were outdated and shabby. Not a great experience.

"DoubleTree in Charlottesville - very hospitable"
Staff was very hospitable. We arrived late on New Year's eve after a difficult week, and wanted a quiet (!) place. They put us up in a lower level room away from other guests so that we would not be disturbed. They were very gracious.

Due to illness and work issues I missed Christmas and Thankgiving with my wife of 18 years. We meet at the Doubletree for New Years Day. The Staff were amazing and the hotel was beautiful and immaculate. Will be back again.!

The hotel is beautiful and decorated for Christmas. The room was huge with a big king bed and nicely furnished. The breakfast buffet was excellent and everything about this hotel is outstanding. Will defintely stay there again and again.

I stayed at the Doubletree in Charlottesville, VA and my stay was great. Very helpful staff from the front desk, to the servers in the dining area, to the cleaning staff. Everything was top notch. The room was quite roomy and having a couch in the room to take your shoes off and relax was a plus. I highly recommend staying at the Doubletree.

The hotel check in staff were friendly. The room was disappointing. The room didn't have microwave or refrigerator. The wall in the room needed to be repaired and painted. Our room was not cleaned during our two day stay. Staff came early Saturday morning and when asked to come back in couple of minutes the second time no one showed up. Staff in hallway […] gave us towels but didn't seem interested in coming to clean the room. Dirty dishes were in the hallway from the night before well into Saturday and the entire hallway smelled like smote. Smoking rooms should not mean there is no effort to have the hallways not smell like smoke. Hotel room should match the beauty of the lobby. Mehr

"Nice but noisy"
The hotel, as well as the room, was very nice. The bed was soft and comfy. the hotel restaurant food was outstanding. But... the noise was terrible. All night long could be heard slamming doors and noisy guests walking the halls. I loved the room but would not stay again.
