I attended a conference at this hotel. The space was tight for a large crowd...couldn't sit down for breakfast, I did not spend much time in the room but the heating system was very loud the first night and extremely hot in the room. The other 2 nights I couldn't get it to turn on a all. Otherwise, the location was nice, price was reasonable, and staff […] very pleasant. Mehr

The Clarion was beautiful, the staff was awesome, the kids loved the pool, it is on the beach with beautiful views.. The family went to the seafood buffet and we all said that everything was amazing..

I would recommend that the Hotel shampoo their rugs. I stayed in room 412 and I am not sure but I think there was blood on the carpet. Other than that the beds were comfortable and everything else seem to be clean.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Everything was up to our expectations. In would definitely stay there again.

The hotel served us well as a first time family vacation. The rooms were clean. The staff was friendly. Being right on the beach was awesome!

Great room. Ocean view ( side view) right on beach. Great to take morning walk. Nice space. Clean and open. Saw lots of dogs around-- good to keep in mind for future. Major plus. The room had stains on decorative comforter cover but overall it was a good find and fair price for the time we were traveling. Would book again.

We were a family of 3, had a good 4 night stay, cut short by the approach of Irene. The beach was in good shape, a little crowded as the hotel location is right in the thick of the hi-risers. Staff was helpful, courteous, and a call to the desk to solve a problem with the in-room safe was met with an immediate response. Nice. The only meals we had […] on site were breakfast. Very good service, my 13 year old son loved the pancakes and french toast, and I found the coffee passable. (I am a Starbucks bold flavor junkie.) The only negative - elevator space at times was lacking. We took the stairs to the 11th. one time, which became a challenge game between myself and my son, so not so bad. This is a nice hotel in a great location on the beach off 100th st in OC. Great naturally lit indoor pool, nice walk-in outdoor pool, fantastic tropical backyard deck and patio with live band at happy hour. Negatives include very small bathroom, bathroom light switch outside of bathroom, outlets in rooms don't hold plugs, keys hard to unlock doors, […] only 3 elevators for 14 story hotel, poor service in restaurant, no towels at pool side, $5.50 for a beer, $8.00 mixed drinks...mostly little things. The hotel was fine. Just a normal hotel close to the beach. What I didn't get was - there were a few thunderstorms that moved through the area. So, of course, the closed the outdoor pool. But, then, in addition to closing the outdoor pool, they closed the indoor pool. Doesn't that negate the reason of even having an indoor pool? I chose this hotel because […] it had both an indoor and an outdoor pool - in case of bad weather - we would still be able to enjoy ourselves. Well - that didn't happen. We had a wonderful weekend stay. Our hotel room was very clean and spacious. It was my husbands birthday so I requested the wine & cheese tray to be delivered to our room upon arrival. The wine was in the bucket chilled in ice and the cheese tray in the fridge. Very nice presentation. The breakfast buffet & Prime Rib/Seafood buffet were excellent. Well […] worth the cost. The staff was very friendly. Parking spaces were abundant. I also liked the fact that pets were allowed. Although I did not bring my dog with me it was nice seeing the little dogs and being able to get my doggy fix by petting them. I would recommend this hotel for a pleasant stay. Mehr

All of the staff at this hotel was friendly and helpful. From the front desk, to the waiter in the restaurant. Even the cleaning crew were helpful and friendly. We left with a very positive feeling about our entire stay.

This hotel was very nice. It was centrally located and right on the beach. The balcony is not a sitting balcony but a viewing balcony. You had an ocean view from each window and that was not bad, but it would have been nice to actually sit outside. The rooms were fine, but the pillows were extremely flat and uncomfortable. The hotel ran out of towels; […] doing laundry...but they were later delivered that evening. We did see a lot of dogs in the hotels, which I think is nice for those families with pets. I did not see any droppings anywhere.....they had a band play every day which was nice. I think the outdoor pool is a little small, but my kids stayed in the indoor pool almost every night. The drinks are expensive.....$8 each. I would certainly come back to this hotel and would recommend it to others. There was a bus stop right in front of the hotel, which took you down town to the boardwalk for $1 each way. Very convenient. Mehr

We had an easy time checking in and the first night was okay. Went to take a shower and had low water pressure and we were on the 6th floor. I wonder how it was for the 16th floor! Maid did not clean our room! Was totally upset! Had to change our dinner reservation because we had to wait for the room to be cleaned! Not acceptable! worth the price

The hotel location is great it is away from the board walk which is fine with my wife and I because we have a 2half yr old son.the beach was clean and very family friendly, the only thing that was inconvienant was the lack of laundromat in house or even close to the hotel.I have read many people complian about the parking but for the time we where their […] we where always in the parking lot infront of the hotel.We also really enjoyed the bar and resturant on the premises "BREAKERS PUB" food was good prices are not cheap but like i said the food was good. Hotel is on the water. Not exactly Ocean View as in directly facing the ocean but you do have a side view of the ocean. The outdoor pool was crowded from 1:00pm to 6:00pm so I never went in it. The beach is ok but nothing great as there is a quick drop off as you walk into the water and therefore the waves break on the beach which doesn't make for boogie […] boarding or body surfing. So we went to Assateague which is about 20 min away which is absolutely gorgeous. Much less crowded. Water is cleaner there. And there is a very flat to gentle drop off which makes for good skim boarding, boogie boarding, body surfing and even surfing. A 1 week pass to Assateague cost only $15. Best deal in OC. And the wild horses are scattered around the park and even pay the beach a visit now and then. But hide your food as they will come up and steal it. For restaurants, try not to get hooked into the ALL-U-CAN eat touristy stuff. We drifted off the beaten path a couple times and enjoyed ourselves. We did do the all-u-can-eat crab thing one night at Phillips which was crowded and noisy but lots of crab. In terms of the hotel, since we didn't use the hotel beach, I would get a cheaper hotel off the water and go to Assateague and spend our beach days there. We also did the boardwalk thing a couple of nights. Was crowded as you might expect mid-Summer but we just walked and looked. Not much buying. Every-other store is the same thing. Ice Cream at Dungers (spelling?) was a treat. And you have to have breakfast at the Bay Skillet. Not your typical breakfast place (ie eggs, bacon, etc.). Crepes were good. Big servings so we were able to share a breakfast between two people. Mehr

Most ocean city hotels will be expensive but when a hotel says "ocean view", you expect to view the ocean directly. The hotel has the majority of rooms facing either north or south, so ocean view is only a partial view and not worth the money. For the cost, I would have gone to a different hotel just for a real view.

My wife, daughter and I were quite satisfied with our hotel accommodations at the Clarion. It was our first get away after my cancer surgery, and it might have been a more difficult time for me except that the concierge made suggestions of places to visit and to dine that were suitable for my physical condition.

The selection of the food during breakfast and dinner was dismal and the overall quality of the food was unsatisfactory. It is absurd that I would be charged for taking a bagel for my pet during breakfast buffet yet was charged pet stay.

Very happy with the location, atmosphere, staff, and accommodations. Hotel was perfectly located on the beach, close to Roses (like a Walmart) for locals and tourists. Also loved the idea of paying $3.00 for all day use of public bus transportation which comes in handy when wanting to go out and not drive. Everyone in our party enjoyed their stay. Our kids loved the outdoor pool area. The beach area was always clean and inviting. The staff did a great job making sure our stay was enjoyable. The only thing I would like to see changed is the service in the Horizons restruant. It was slow and slightly disorganized. I would definitely stay there again.

I paid an arm and a leg for Clarion: Here is short review: Pros: Location (ocean front), Parking, availability of food and other necessities around Cons: Dingy hallways, dark unilluminated room, spring beds, stinky carpets, stained couch, bad pillows, old noisy A/C, they have pets allowed, over priced, old creaking fridge, old microwave, toothpaste […] cannot be obtained at front desk have to buy the small one for $3 at the gift shop. The second day I moved to the comfort inn across Clarion, it was a much more pleasant experience. Mehr

I wanted a place on the beach and was surprised just how nice it was! They don't have ocean front, but the ocean view rooms have small balconies and the view is great. The rooms are nicely done and kept that way by the nice staff. They have indoor & outdoor pools, an outdoor bar with live music all weekend! They even have a breakfast buffet and a night […] club. A great place for the family or for singles looking to have some fun. Mehr

I was not happy because my bathroom had not been clean. Not only was the bathroom clean I was not sure if the entire room had been clean. I chose this hotel due to the ratings and was very unhappy. The conditions of your elevator and hotel floors was not very clean. Much improvement is needed.

My family and I leave the pets home when we go on vacation but apparently this hotel is a hot spot for people who vacation with their pets. I did not like riding the elevator and mingling with other peoples pets throughout the hotel. Also, I couldn't help wondering what pets has been in my room recently. The primary reason for choosing this hotel was […] the indoor pool, which was closed for half of our stay. While a pool was made available at a building next door, it was cold and inconvenient. This was a big disappointment for the kids. Also the fitness room was shabby and could use a face lift. Overall, not the oasis we were looking for. Mehr

Hotel felt like it had a winter's worth of grime built up on the inside. Elevators and hallways were dingy. Not an enticing first impression.

TV remote, bathroom fan, heater in room ALL BROKEN. Pet Friendly? Sure, if you don't mind an additional $40 a night, not disclosed when room was booked. No simple means for coffee available in lobby, so it was over priced room service or instant. The on-site restaurant, Horizons, was awful: prices were fine IF the quality matched them, but it did NOT, […] This close to the ocean and the seafood was terrible. Mehr

Not only were the rooms very reasonably priced, everything in ocean City was reasonably priced. The hotel bar had great Happy Hour specials as well. I ordered the King Crab Legs, listed on the menu as '2 clusters' for *cheap*...and i got, easily, 2 pounds of claws!! They explained that during the off-season, they like to give a little more, and they […] never know how many people will be staying, so they have extra to serve. The regular menu prices were a little higher-priced, but we easily ordered from the happy hour menu. Hotel is a bit over priced for the area. Food and beverage are priced too high. Signs of ware and tare are visiable everyware. Our room need to be up-graded. Large water stain on celing from leak in room above. Maid service was only fair. Items used in the room were not replaced (coffee, towels, shampoo, ect). lack of parking. overflow lot across the […] street has no pedestrian traffic light or marked cross walk. good Luck getting across Coastal Hwy on a busy afternoon. Not good for a family with children. Rooms have a balcony and a child could fall if the door is left open. Mehr

I recommend this hotel for anyone traveling with pets, as it was one of the only ones I could find in the area that would allow my two dogs. But even in late September, the parking situation was very crowded. If you can't find a spot in the main lot, you have to park across the very busy road. It was not idea, especially if you are walking with dogs […] and luggage. Since it's Ocean City, the neighborhood is a bit crazy, with many partiers and cops stopping people who look suspicious. (Another reason why it's creepy to park across the street.) Otherwise, the hotel was fine, and we enjoyed our stay. Mehr
