Sheraton Roma Hotel & Conference Center - Rom

Ich war mit meinem Freund für 6 Nächte im SHeraton und es hat und alles in allem ganz gut gefallen. Der Service war leider eher dürftig, da so gut wie keiner Englisch gesprochen hat und dadurch viele Missverständnisse entstanden, vorallem durch Abbuchungen von meiner Kreditkarte. Der Pool war schon und groß und angenehm kalt, leider nicht so viele Liegen […] der tägliche Kampf hat sich aber gelohnt, ich empfehle früh aufstehen und mit eigenem Handtuch reservieren:) Die Zimmer waren völlig ok und gut ausgestattet, sehr sauber. Leider kamen trotz "Bitte nicht stören" Schild um 9 die Putzkräfte ohne zu klopfen einfach rein. Für leichte Schläfer könnte auch der nächtliche Beat der Housemusik aus dem benachbarten Gayvillage nerven, war für mich persönlich aber kein Problem, ich schlafe wie ein Stein. In der näheren Umgebung gibt es nichts zum Einkaufen für Wasser oder ähnliches bis zum nächsten "belebten Ort" läuft man mind. 20 Minuten. Dadurch wird natürlich die Urlaubskasse ganz schön gequält da Getränke und Essenpreise extravagant ausfallen. Aber dafür alles sehr lecker schmeckt. Der Shuttlebus für 3 Euro hin und Zurück fährt alle 1,5 STunden bis 23:30 und ist sehr gut und bringt einen ins Zentrum von wo man Rom gut zu Fus erkuden kann. Alles in allem hatten wir einen netten aber teuren Urlaub, hat sich aber auf jeden Fall gelohnt. Mehr

I was pleased until it came time to check out. Should say at check in they said my resv had been cancelled. Then at check out I was presented with a bill for: a 1 euro donation to Unicef to which I had not agreed, a 6 euro item from the mini-bar which I did not use and over 350 euros for a second person in the room which I did not have. So I am contesting […] with Amex and we shall see. Mehr

The location was great. They picked us uip at the airport which was about 25 minutes from hotel and had shuttle service back to airport also. It cost 5 euros (free coming to hotel and 5 euros going back). They had a shuttle going down town which was 3 euros round trip which was also about 25 minutes. They dropped us off in a great location for site […] sieeing. The shuttle was a large bus with plenty of room. The staff at the hotel were extremely nice and helpful. Rooms were extra nice and comfortable beds which were much larger than the ones down town. Mehr

Good base for visiting the city and sights. Room slightly dated and could do with overhall. Nice open restaurant and bar area and lovely outdoor pool, although we didn't get a chance to use this. Good courtesy bus service from hotel but had to be paid for daily.

The Sheraton Roma is located outside the city, close to much of the suburban business developments. As such, it's only really convenient for those looking for accommodation in the area, rather than for a central Rome tourist break. Plus: Good food, friendly staff, lovely pool bar Minus: Expensive and poor Internet service, significant accumulations of black mold in bath of 3 different rooms I stayed in. Choosing Green Option resulted in no room cleaning or replacement of dirty towels at all.

The hotel itself is quiet average and the staff at reception have no concept of customer service and are overall quite rude and unhelpful. The hotel also overcharges for all food and beverages in comparison to the prices that can be found in the city of Rome itself. The pool and outdoor area are the only redeeming qualities the hotel possess's.

The Sheraton was a very nice hotel & the service was very good. Although it was far from the city`s center we appreciated the shuttle service to & from the hotel...just be sure to be prompt...it does not wait. The hotel restaurant serves a very nice,complete breakfast. Dinner however, is not the best & is quite expensive.

Not recommended. Rooms were in shabby condition - lightbulbs missing, dusty, minibars scarcely stocked. Service staff in restaurants had attitude issues. EUR is not a nice neighbourhood at all. Hotel is way below Sheraton's general quality level elsewhere. Positive: shuttle bus to city center works well.

Would like to recommand this hotel to every one, 10 min from the centre with metro. And metro on 4min of walking distance of the hotel. Roomservice is more than ok and very good.

You need to take a shuttle or take the metro to go to downtown Rome. Far from everything. If you are arriving by airplane, there is a shuttle from the airport to the hotel. This is very positive especially after a long flight.

Once we got to the hotel which was a little out of the way from the city centre we was very pleased. The only down side of the hotel was the booking in time was so long over an hour just to book in and they were in no fush. the staffl were not that friendly i would say the cleaners were more polite and friendly than anyone else. the hotel was spotless […] and food great although very expensive. i would recommend this hotel. We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. We added a couple of nights at the end of our Italian tour, but didn't realize the hotel was a bit out of the way for accessing the "highlight attractions." Staff is very responsive and made us feel very at home. We dined two nights at the hotel and it proved to be one of the best dining experiences during our stay […] in Rome. My purse was stolen in the lobby, almost under my nose. I believe it was a 'team' effort and if you stay in this hotel, be aware! Don't let your guard down in this hotel....

Excellent hotel, read about in Hotels.com review. First time in Europe and enjoyed our stay there very much. We arrived in Rome and took the shuttle to hotel (very cheap we found, they just charge to room). We made sure we told them Sheraton Roma suggested in review because the are two Sheraton's. Ate dinner in Hotel one night only (stayed 3 nights) […] and had the antipasto buffet,excellent. You can get the entire buffet for one price and or only the appetizer or entree or salad buffet or dessert all separate (good idea) we didn't want to eat that much anyway. Fitness area nice not to big. Pool nice and big and clean can eat at pool or order a drink. You won't find that anywhere in Rome as our second stay in Rome after our 12 day cruise experienced this. The shuttle was excellent , the cost is worth every penny , we were going to take the local transit but changed our mind due to how convenient the shuttle was and the last shuttle leaves the city center at 11:30 PM. to go to hotel. You will see the first day how hectic the city is for cars, scooters and traffic and will agree. Mehr

A lovely hotel - especially comfortable beds, nice breakfast, lovely pool. We wanted somewhere between Ciampino Airport and the centre of Rome, to begin our holiday in style. Obviously it is some way out of the city centre, but this is exactly what we wanted for 1 night, before going on to stay in the centre for a week. The Sheraton Roma is situated in the business area of Rome so outside the city. Shuttle bus takes approx 20mins from hotel at cost of 3 Euros but free for all on return journey and this needs looking at. Hotel is comfortable and has pool as its outside the city however booked club rooms but the club lounge area was closed without warning so paid extra […] for nothing other than token for afree drink (soft) Food was OK but pricey Room was comfortable and bed allowed for a good sleep If I go again it wouldn't be my first choice but if I could get no where else I would stay again Mehr

We stayed at Sheraton Roma for three nights and loved it. The spaceousness, cleanliness, breakfast buffet, restaurant, quietness, bus service (at a minimal cost of 3 euros round-trip) to and from city center, free internet service, easy commute from airport in a shuttle bus, proximity to a metro stattion are all very strong points. Main disadvantages […] were lack of anything to see or do within walking distance and waiting period (90 minutes) between bus service to the city. There is a great outdoor swimming pool but unfortunately it was closed because of the time of the year. Mehr

very good hotel. offers bus service to near the Coliseum for a fee, but the metro is a quarter mile away and it takes you everywhere. They have a band on Thursday and Fridays. Parking on the grounds is expensive in the covered area with security. I parked at the entrance and had no problems.

Having just visited Rome 10 months ago we were back in town for a cruise. We stayed 3 days prior to the cruise and 1 day post cruise at the sheraton. Really the only downside is the location and the food is mediocre but it was so nice to get off the airplane walk outside terminal c and there was a bus for 5 euros each to take you right to the hotel. […] Last time we were there we dragged our bags onto the train for 11 euros each and then switched to the metro and then had to drag our bags to the hotel. They also had a nice pool because it is so hot in the summer there. They do have a nice shuttle service to downtown rome for 3 euros and it beats the mile walk to the metro on a busy road with no sidewalk. After our cruise i had originally booked another hotel but after staying there before the cruise canceled my other reservation and made one at the sheraton. It was great after being on a ship for 13 days, we cam back to the sheraton, took the shuttle to rome for a nice dinner, came back got a good nights sleep and took the 7 am shuttle to the airport and got dropped off right outside the terminal for our 9:20 am flight with plenty of time to spare. So I say if you have never been to rome stay in the heart of things so you can walk and see the sights, but if you have been there and want to save some money, and dont want to pay for taxis or ride the metro all the time the sheraton is the way to go. Good size rooms. Buffet breakfast very good for European standards. My son enjoyed the workout facility. Don't expect to walk anywhere from the hotel. There is a shuttlebus service (20 minutes ride) that drops you off downtown at a point that is about a 15 minute walk to the Coloseum/Forum. The cost for round trip is about 1/4 of what taxi round trip […] fare would be for 4 people. The shuttle runs about every hour, and last shuttle from downtown was at 11:30PM. Mehr

Worth a visit if your in the vacinity

The hotel is pinned into what amounts to a highway ramp so walking to anywhere is difficult. Really there is nothing to walk to anyway. There is very limited "safe" free parking, so a 23 euro a night parking charge is likely, if you are driving. The immediate hotel grounds were fine, but the surrounding grounds including the "unsafe" parking lots were […] litter strewn. There are better choices in Rome. Mehr

I couldn't recommend this hotel more. I researched a lot of hotels in Rome before deciding on the Sheraton and I've come back knowing it was the right choice. You will not get a better hotel with swimming pool, reakfast and transfer for the money. The rooms are spacious, clean, and the beds are really big and comfy. Breakfast is really nice and fresh; […] choice of cereals, fruit or cooked breakfast. Shuttle is convienient (book before, don't just turn up). However, taxis into the centre are under 20 euros anyway. Make sure you tell the taxi drivers at the airport to take you to the Shearton 'Roma'- (there are two Sheratons' in Rome and there is a con to take you to the wrong one as it's closer). Swimming pool is gorgeous - they hand out free towels. Gym is also really nice. Pool bar is very nice too, but be wary of the prices - around £6 a beer! Overall very enjoyable. Lovely hotel. The superior bedrooms are very nice and quiet. Not the best place to get to by public transport, metro and bus or metro and quite a dangerous walk. The bus we caught from the metro station to the hotel did not stop outside the hotel, the bell had rung twice for the stop, it took us one and half hours to get back to the hotel from the […] next stop on. This was a wonderful hotel stay in Rome. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and does speak English. The breakfast buffet was outstanding! It is a bit out of the way; although they do provide a shuttle service, it doesn't run often enough.

I truly loved my stay in this hotel. Everyone was very nice a very helpful. The restaurant was great, food was very good. Service was great all around. Yes, it is a little far from downtown Rome, but they have a great shuttle service to the city. Actually, it ws nice not to stay in the hustle and bustle. I would highly recommand this hotel.

Good hotel to stay at, comfortable and friendly, knowledgeable service. Location is a bit far, but they do offer a bus to the city for $3 round trip, but the bus runs about every 1hr 30min, so you have to prepare.

The hotel was great but the surrounding area was gross and it's too far to walk to the city center. A cab ride from Vatican City will run you about 40 Euros. There is a shuttle bus but the times and frequency are not that helpful. Hotel was nice to relax at. Walking distance from Eur Maligana Metro station. Only hotel I've had at Europe with one queen size bed. Pool was nice, service was ok. Breakfast buffet was worth enjoying. Far away from sights in Rome, but if you're comfortable with subways, not really a problem. Overall would recommend, and stay at again.

This was a perfect place to stay, at the end of our trip in Italy. The rooms are big by European standards-after two weeks moving all over Europe, the American style of hoteling/hospitality was perfect! Really great breakfast. Bar in the loby has live entertainment, so we could stay in some evenings and still have something relaxing to do. The location […] is about 15 minutes from the sites of Rome, by car. Finns inget att klaga på, fina stora rum, fantastisk bra frukost,mm Dock ligger det knepigt till. Att åka citybussarna tar 30-35 minuter och den stannar typ 50ggr. Men om man går 10 minuter till tunnelbanan är det helt ok. typ 4 stopp till centrum.Sen har ju bussen shuttel bussarna som tar typ en kvart det är ju bra, synd bara att dom tar betalt in […] till stan med dom. I stort sett mycket nöjd. En bit att gå till T-bana men det fanns bussar som gick rätt ofta in till centrum.

Sheraton er et bra hotel liggende rett utenfor roma ca 6 km,men det er kort vei til Metro ca 8-10 min og gå. fra hotelet til centrum av Roma så er det gjort på ca 20 min. frokosten var bra med god service,litt slitte rom,men du for hva du betaler for:)

Ligger 7km från centrum och isolerat. Buss-service till och från centrum och flygplatsen. Ett typiskt "konferens hotell".

Dette er ett flott familie hotell med meget bra service. Det er ikke gangavstand til sentrum,men hvad gjør vel det når hotellet har egen buss som går hele dagen.
