Die Zimmer stinken nach Urin und Schweiß in 2 Gebäüden des Hotels. Es wurden uns 3 Zimmer in zwei unterschiedlichen Gebäüden vorgeschlagen. Alle drei haben gestunken Erst das vierte Zimmer in einem neueren Gebäüdetrakt war einigermassen sauber und frei von unangenehmen Gerüchen. Hotelpersonal gibt sich Mühe ist jedoch nicht immer sehr erfolgreich bei der Umsetzung von vorgesehenen Massnahmen z.B. Zimmerzuteilungen. Die Golfpreise sind - für einen eher durchschnittlichen Platz - viel zu hoch. Benachbarte Plätze gleicher oder besserer Qualität können bedeutend günstiger bespielt werden.

I love the fact that I could open the windows and enjoy the fresh air. The nights were very quiet and comfortable. The hotel is no new but it is very well kept with very good internet connectivity. You can't beat having the gold course as the view!

Morgan Run was awesome. First rate gym and our room was huge.

We got an extremely good rate on this hotel! The rooms was very nice. The gym and the pool area were also very nice.

older property, with polish, but not everything. Biggest turn off that ice buckets do not have liners and are dirty. When my wife spoke to them about it they offered to clean ours, but not to put in a liner because "she stopped buying liners". Indoor maint not the best, some of the work is shoddy. Outside is almost immaculate. Fan in the heater/cooler […] in our room maid noises so we had to turn it off at night to sleep. Mehr

Morgan run has been one of our favorite places to stay as well as be a member of. Before moving out of state we wanted to have one last night there. The reception desk girl was very rude, dismissive and simply gave the impression that she didn't want to e there. For example I asked her if the room had a nice view she said yes, then I asked what is it […] overlooking she said I dont know! Well I know some rooms overlook parking lot and some garden and some golf course. Another we asked for a very quiet room that didn't share a door with another room. She put us in a room that shared a door and above another room that constantly we could hear them walking and across from another that had the tv very loud. We didn't say anything because we just didn't feel it would be us anywhere. It was really a disappointment for our last stay. Out side of her everyone else was nice as usual. Mehr

The resort was nice, room was nice. The negative thing I can say is that I wish there was a refrigerator in the room. Not a big one just a small one, My family and I stayed for 7 days and it would have been nice to have a fridge and maybe a small microwave. Otherwise everything was very nice and clean.

Great location in rural Del Mar, only 20 minutes from all attractions in San Diego. Resort is very nice, rooms are very comfortable. A bit of noise gets into the room, but nothing too inconvenient. Would highly recommend the hotel.

over all very nice, however when i booked with Hotels.com i spoke personally with an agent to assure i would have a fridge in my room. there was NO fridge when i arrived and had to pay an extra $10 per night for a fridge. i was very upset about that & feel Morgan Run should provide these to all guests- just seemed really cheap to charge!!! and the fridge […] was TINY also, no regular coffee maker. The location was very good, our room was spacious and clean ,but was not cleaned the next day until late in the afternoon only when we asked for it. Coffeemaker in the room very user unfriendly and strange. Not able to make the water even hot. No fridge in the room, they said it's going to be extra 10 dollar charge per night for it. The coffee in the […] lobby was not accessible to guests , it was on the other side of the counter where the hotel employees only were able to give it. The location and the landscaping and grounds were the good points, not very fond of the service though. But we might return because of the good location. Mehr

I love staying here! It's close to all and everyone is so nice!

I loved the hotel and enjoyed my stay. However, I kept on waking up from 6 a.m., when the guests or the cleaning staff went in and out of the room. Each time, and each door, shut with a huge bang. They need to fix the doors to mutate the thuderous sound of the doors.

We received a great off-season rate. Obviously a very old hotel but nicely remodeled, very clean, great looking property. Can't say anything negative about it.

The bed was the most comfortable I have slept in yet in a hotel. The grounds are well kept and have a relaxing feel. A great place to getway from the everyday grind.

Location was good going to San Diego Zoo & Legoland, it was a middle point. Room: lock was lose, had to put a chair in front of door incase someone broke in, no security at main doors, rooms look smaller than pictures online, patio door was hard to look, housekeeper keep on opening the patio door & tried to get in early in the morning (we were staying […] for 4 nights-she should know better), given only one bathroom that was worn out. Resort: nothing for kids to do, overpriced menus, pool was small Overall: not recommend for families to go to & anyone that is not for people if you are old, rich, enjoy golfing...we did not fit in & had poor customer service because weren't the typical "crowd" Mehr

My wife and I enjoyed our Hotel stay. The Hotel was close to the area spots we planned to visit, including hiking Torrey Pines, and eating at our favorite restaurant in Del Mar. We actually drove to the San Diego Zoo, which was closer than we thought. The Hotel was very clean, and the parking area was easy to access. We will stay again in the futur […] e. Mehr

Great experience. Room was clean and service was good. Restaurant was pricey but the food was excellant! An inexpensive alternate for a room close to the beach.

The girl who checked us in was not very nice. It was as if we were interrupting her day. She did not bother to tell us anything about the place - ie - the fact that there was happy hour happening at the time. When asking about the golf and the spa, she said to check the website when we got to our room. The place was fine, but it rained the whole time […] we were there, so could not use the golf course, pool, or any outdoor activities. Mehr

First of all, I figured with the price factor being in the $100 range and it being a club that the rooms would be a lot nicer. Which I was wrong. The surrounding neighborhood was great. Quiet but the rooms...... Thats another story. I'll just say that the walls are so thin, you can hear what the persons doing next door. I had to sleep with a family […] with crying kids from 12am - 3 am. I asked the front desk that if anyway I can get a room change and they said sure. I asked that they give me a call and let me know when I can change rooms cause all the rooms were full till the guests checked out. Basically, no calls were made to me or to my cell and I had to go and ask twice if my room was ready. The new room was a bit older then the first but still since it was an end room, I didn't have to hear one side of the room. This night was bareable but still had to hear the guest next door watching adult movies till 1-2 in the morning. Btw, did I mention that the hot water didn't work for the two our of four days I was there in the morning. Pretty much had the water running for 10 minutes. Took a shower in cold water. Told the front desk about it and she said sure and brushed me off. So I rate this hotel 1 out of 5 and if I have to give it an extra half star, it would be because of their blanket and pillows. Those were pretty comfortable. This is by far the worst hotel, I've been to this year with the amount of traveling I do. Mehr

The neighborhood and convenience of this hotel to La Jolla were both very good. The room was comfortable (had a lovely view of the golf course) and the staff seemed courteous and kind in our interactions with them. The breakfast was a bit expensive, but it was delicious. The business center was easily accessible and allowed us to swiftly check in for […] our flight. However, before booking, one should note that there is no elevator (though there is only one flight of stairs -- easily manageable for us or the possibility of ground floor rooms) and that the parking near your building is liable to fill up quickly in the evening. Furthermore, we were put into a room where the toilet seat was smaller than the bowl of the toilet. On the first night -- before we had used the toilet, I noticed a hair on the bowl underneath the undersized seat. The tub stopper did not work and I could not find the soda machine in the building that was supposed to be near the ice machine. Of course, you could drink tap water or open the $5.00 Fiji water bottle in the room, but it would have been nice to have another cold drink option in the evening or morning to take medication with. All in all, I would probably stay there again if we were able to get the same favorable rate. The room was pleasant and spacious all told, the room amenities were high quality, and the television was in good working condition. The toilet issue was more of an annoyance than anything else, but is something that can be easily remedied. The rest of the room seemed clean and fresh, the beds were very comfortable, and you can always bring your own water and/or refreshments should they be required. Mehr

We recently stayed in the lovely Del Mar area and had booked 5 nights here at Morgan Run. The area is nice, grounds are beautiful, the gym is an excellent bonus..huge and fully equipped! We had booked for a King room, upon arrival we were told there weren't any available. We took the 2 queen and the next day there was a King available so I went to check […] it out only to find it was basically the same room with 1 Queen bed. NO King size in sight. So - we stayed with the 2 queens. We normally stay at Hampton Inn Suites (Hilton beds are so comfy!) the beds here weren't comfortable. I had issues with my room service order and the food was mediocre and cold upon arrival. Aside from the nice room size and the location, Morgan Run is a nice resort but the rooms are certainly dated! The cherry varnished desks are chipped, old chairs. They seriously should invest in hiring an Interior Design Firm to spruce up this place. I would definitely return if they updated their rooms and beds. We found good spots to eat at in the Del Mar area anyways. Mehr

This hotel was beautiful but they had horrible service. From the reception counter girls that forgot how to answer phones to there being no room service to the bartenders who didn't even know how to make cocktails. There was no room service book in the room so I had to go to the restaurant and order my own food, but the waiter wouldn't take my order […] he made me go to the bar to order. They also charged me a resort fee even though I had to walk to and from my room for food. Everytime I ordered a drink from the bar the bartender asked me how to make it. Not one person ever asked how our stay was orifice we needed help with anything. We even had to ask three times for fresh towels. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone. I would rather have stayed at days inn. Mehr

This was our second stay at Morgan Run. I chose this hotel because the location, close to the beach, family, attractions, ect. The rooms have been given a face lift since our last stay which was nice. The room was clean and the grounds are pretty well kept. The beds were not very comfortable. Morgan Run Club and Resort - A great place to unwind if you're into golf and spa. The staff was helpful and friendly and professional. The highlight of our stay was in the swimming pool area with my wife and my 2 and 5 yrs. old boys. The boys enjoyed the heated pool and small water play area. We will definitely come back and stay again.

This was a lovely spot - nice grounds, rooms were great, comfy - would like to have had a refrigerator in the room though! The Spa and fitness facility are outstanding and all the people who work there were excellent.

We booked an allegedly renovated room with a king bed. We were given a double bed. When we called to see why it wasnt a king, the receptionist claimed it was. I can assure you it isnt even a queen bed. The mattress is old and has a cheap padded cover. The receptonist was rude and offered no solution. Hallways smelled musty. The air conditioning is dirty […] and smells. The ceiling fan is covered in dust. The door jambs are rotted. I wouldn't give the resort better than 2 stars. Mehr

The service is far below what one would expect for a country club/golf resort rated as 3-4 stars. Fitness center closes at 8 pm, no room service available after 9 pm, but worst of all ... there is virtually no one around to help with anything after 4:30 pm. How do I know? The day I checked out, I left a special World Series jacket in my room by mistake. […] I realized my mistake that afternoon and promptly called from the airport at 4:35. I was told all the housecleaning staff leaves at 4:30 and there was no one could take a quick look in the room for it, and I should call back the next morning. Which I did, and then they said they couldn't find it, even though no other guest had used the room the night before. I've left other things in a hotel room from time to time in the past (I travel a lot, it's inevitable) and never had a problem having them located. This was an item that should have been easy to find and return to me. The only conclusion I can draw is that whoever cleaned my room decided to keep the jacket for themselves instead of turn it in. We enjoyed the location and the surroundings. We felt that we were not really very welcome. Check in was cold and detached-unwelcoming. Our reception at the pro-shop was much the same so we did not golf there even though the course looked very inviting. The toilet in the room ran intermittently day and night.

The customer service was less than admirable considering I stood there at the front desk for a couple minutes before the attendant decided to even make eye contact and ask me what I needed... which was rude in itself instead of asking how she could help me. The room was strange as the door was made out of aluminum and could hear everything outside, […] nevermind the fact that there was strange gaps around the edge of the door which were so large you could see light from the hallway. The room had limited amenities and the lamps were almost falling apart when you went to use the nob. Weird... The TV was fuzzy on the on demand channels and the prices, as usual, were too high especially since the picture was fuzzy. There is no complimentary breakfast and thus prices are bit too much for the quality of food. Plus, I had ordered an OJ and it was so expensive that even one of the workers had to double check if that was correct. (She didn't work the front, but of course the other workers walked by me a few times before someone asked me if I needed something) Anyway, the bed was comfortable but as for the rest of the experience it was completely horrible... I don't know how they can call themselves a resort. Mehr

Loved being able to stay in. such a nice resort for this price. Felt very happy with all the nice little touches. Wil stay here again when I see it pop up.

I loved this resort. It has been newly remodeling. So its nice inside and out. There is even a Illy espresso machine in the room. The hotel employees were nice. One night me and my bf wanted to go swimming, but the pool closed at 8. It was after 10, but the employee let us in anyways. I didnt see or have any problems to complain about. Morgan Run was a very nice place to relax. The room was clean and had nice furniture. We had free full strength WIFI in our room, a flat screen tv, a very large bathroom, and complimentary espresso in our room with 3 strengths incl decaf. This is a quiet hotel without people running up and down the hallway slamming doors as we have become used to. Quiet and away from the hustle of downtown hotels. Comfortable room and beds. Hallways and main areas of the Hotel are in need of updating. State of the art spa and great workout room. Overall positive stay.
