Very friendly staff from doorman right through to housekeeping. Clean and great location.

We loved how close the hotel was to Michigan Avenue!

The Avenue Crown Plaza ended up being a great pick for our Chicago weekend vacation. Its a very nice hotel in a great area central to all the major Chicago attractions. Nothing is further than a $9 cab ride away. Its a fairly high-end hotel with a fairly big price tag attached, but the location, quality, service, and security made it well worth it. […] For example, on our final day we believed we had a 6:00 AM train back to Indianapolis so we checked out at 4:30am and left for Union Station. Upon arrival, we found that our tickets were for 6:00 PM. I called the hotel and informed them of our predicament. They let us reoccupy our room and even gave us a late check out and held our baggage so we wouldn't have a 7 hour block of time without a room while lugging our bags around the city. I will definitely be staying here again when I return to Chicago. Mehr

Hotel employees very helpful with all questions about the city and very comfortable stay!

Overall the hotel was amazing and the service was phenomenal.

#1 Overall the stay was nice my wife had a hard time checking in even though she had the reservation # and credit card it was booked with. I was able to call the hotel and get that taken care of. #2 a very drunk guest was locked out of his room and was banging on the door yelling F words for his roommate to let him in finally I told him to go to the […] front to get a key he did then the latch was over the door and he proceded to b ang and yell I called to ask the hotel to get it under control and they said they were working on it after listening for ten more minutes I went out to talk to this guy again and security was standing there letting him act this way and the cut the lock off the door Mehr

I checked in a little late in the evening and was upgraded to a corner room which was actually a very nice room. The location was great, just a block from Michigan Ave and an easy walk to several other popular destinations. Parking is way too expensive, but it is Chicago and it's the same everywhere.

The rooms seemed alot smaller than the pictures led on. It cost me about $10 for internet for 24 hours. It seemed like every little thing you had to pay for. Not that I mind. It is just that it seemed a little pricey.

We stayed at the Crowne Plaza for a 3 day shopping trip on the Magnificent Mile. It was right in the middle of the shopping area and is a great location. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone planning to shop in Chicago. Th only issue was the very expensive parking fee, but it is no different than most hotels […] in the area. Mehr

When we arrived and visited the first guest room assigned to us it was directly across from the elevator and a locker with a continuously running ice maker. Since the single entrance door to each guest room is not very well insulated against noice, the noice from both the opening and closing of the elevator doors and the ice maker were very audible […] in the room even when the entrance door was closed. Upon complaining to the very friendly and willing-to-help receptionist, she assigned us another room .way up which was filled with smell of cold cigarette smoke - unbearable to these life-long non-smokers. Since the hotel is declared a "Smoke-free Facility" and no-smoking signs are affixed everywhere and very visible to every guest, (a) previous very inconsiderate visitor(s) to this room violated the hotel's rules and, as is well known, even with best efforts the Hotel cleaning staff were and will be unable for some time to turn the room back into a non-smoking and smoke-smell-free room. The receptionist was completely unaware of and excused the unexpected situation (although she was surely not responsible for it) and assigend us our third room on a bit lower floor and to which she and the head-receptionist upgraded us. This room had a terrific view of the city below, was very pleasant and comfortable. The comfort was only compromised by the continuous i.e. day and night low-level but very audible noice of a continuously running machine (Generator? Elevator? or ???). This noice was particularly strong in the evening to midnight hours and was either above or at the side of the bedroom. But every day the room was well taken care of by the cleaning staff. Nice was also the existence of the "Elphant and....Bar" with pretty good food including a hearty breakfast, excellent coffee and an excellent beer sellection for a late-night drink. Nice room, very clean. the only thing we didnt like was hearing ambulance sirens all night long. hotel is a block or two from a hospital or medical center.

We were very impressed by the size of the room, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel was great as well.....The only questionable aspect was the price of the overnight parking which seemed a bit steep but may be in line with other hotels in this area.

I was very pleased with this hotel stay. I was on the 36th floor, but the elevators were very quick and I never waited very long. My king room was a fairly good size for a downtown hotel. $50/night for parking is stiff, but fairly common at these downtown locations. The self-park next door was $42/night.

Crown Plaza made our 26th wedding anniversary a memorable one. Excellant location and service. Plus and comfortable. A little elevator sticking between floors. Was scary but made for some good laughs after.

Excellent facility and great service. Be prepared for additional costs. Taxes and fees, No breakfast included, parking fee if you drive.

This hotel is just one block off the Magnificent Mile, which also puts it within a short walk of the lake and metro stops. The location is superb, but it's "just a hotel," if you know what I mean. Good, but nothing spectacular. The room was clean, the bathroom has a hair dryer... But the room has an odd layout and for the price, I was disappointed that […] you had to pay $9.95 a day for WiFi in your room. Really? Staff was friendly and helpful and let us store our bags after check out on our last day before heading out that afternoon. Mehr

I only had one problem with this hotel, they barely had enough water pressure to rinse off the soap when taking a shower, it definately needs to be corrected

We've stayed at this hotel several times over the past couple of years and it never disappoints!

The Crowne Plaza Hotel was a perfect choice for my overnight trip to Chicago! It was very close to the Water Tower Place mall which was perfect because I planned on shopping there. My sister and I ate at the Cheesecake Factory which was also very close to the hotel. If it wasn't close, the servicemen at the front door whistled taxis for us. Over all I'm upset with my stay here. Although the employees were helpful and pleasant, I felt as if or room was put into a closet location away from all of the other rooms. It was by what looked to be an employee lounge out maintenance closet.

Great value, nice location, clean and comfortable. Small QUIET room. Neutrogena bath products, in-room safe, and coffee pot. Sky Lounge has an expensive breakfast. We went around the corner to the Corner Bakery for a delicious breakfast.

Did not like the fact parking was $50 and you were not able to go to your car once valet took it.

Rooms very comfortable (I was upgraded to a suite since I had a Groupon deal for the first night), and the staff superb!

Walking distance to so many vital areas, the Water Tower Mall and in the middle of the Magnificent mile. We had a great Lake Michigan view... Used Concierge service to acquire dinner reservations and Benjiman at the front desk was the first person to greet and the last person we saw at checkout. There was Gino's Pizza across the street, Tiffany & Co, […] Nieman Marcus on opposing adjacent corners from the hotel. Mehr

We booked a standard king room and upon arrival they told us they had given us a complimentary upgrade. We had a king suite with a separate living room. It was really nice. The bed was very comfortable and the location was excellent. Overall a good deal considering it is literally 20 yards from Michigan Ave. which is where all the shopping is. Everything was GREAT!!!!! I left my cosmetic bag on the back of the bathroom door. I called back to the hotel and they had found it. The lady in lost and found mailed it to me that same day.

This hotel had great customer service! Everyone was willing to tell us where we needed to go. The valet service was on top of things. Our car was out there by the time we got to the lobby. The hotel was close to all the attractions.

This was my second time in the Windy City, and my first stay at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. The staff was wonderful, friendly, accomodating especially for a last minute reservation, and able to assist with any questions we had during our stay. The room was spacious and VERY comfortable. The bed was fabulous. The artwork and decor in the room was tasteful […] and modern (loved the Zebra chair). The photographs of famous Chicago landmarks in the room were spectacular. The location was PERFECT. A great bonus was the hair dryer was one of the best a hotel could offer and could be taken out of the bathroom accomodating two travelers trying to get ready at the same time. Loved the decor of the individual rooms and the lobby.

This hotel was just the right size for our family of four. We loved the location, just where we wanted to be. We even had a nice view of Michigan Avenue. I think we will go back in the summer to take advantage of the roof top pool.

I enjoyed the stay...room was a little small...great location...not expensive...receptionist were very nice...they got us passes for a club close to the hotel...was very nice...we enjoyed the stay :)

stayed 2 nights while my husband was at northwestern memorial hospital, very convenient, the only problem was the cold air that leaked from the windows especially in the bathroom, other than that it was a great place to stay

Perfect location, very accommodating staff. I've tried other hotels, but came back. I always try availability here first!
