The Westin New Orleans Canal Place - New Orleans

Hotelmanagement hat sich sehr bemüht, um uns entsprechend der Buchung gut unterzubringen. Reception war sehr aufmerksam uns behilflich zu sein, bei Restaurant-Reservierungen, Tips für Sightseeing etc.

This was a great place to stay in NOLA. It is convenient to attractions and the staff is friendly. We did not try the restaurants on-site because there are so many good places to eat within walking distance. The only drawback are the elevators. You had to take 2 seperate elevators every time you were comming or going. One to reach the lobby and one […] to go to the room. This was a minor inconvenience since we were never in a great hurry. The only bad thing about the hotel is that my ac did now work when we got there. It took them 3 tries to get it right. Other than that it's a really great place to stay.

The hotel was close to all sights you never had to drive anywhere, location was awesome Thank you for everything

Easy walking distance to Bourbon Street, etc. Nice hotel although getting from parking to your room is not easy at first.

Great Location close to French Quarter, Canal Street, River walk, Excellent River View, Connects to Canal Place Mall With upscale shops. I would not return or recommend due to very poor service. They charge 13.00 per day PER DEVICE for internet and they have a firewall in place so you can't even use your GB devices for internet. They charge 3.00 per […] pack (1 cup per pack) of any extra coffee needed other than the two servings placed in the room. Parking is a joke. They tell you 15.00 per day but that's only if you don't use your car. If you use your car, it's 5.00 per hour for the first two hours gone plus the 15.00 per day. Mehr

We stayed here to be close to the marathon start. The hotel is convenient, clean, and comfortable. It's worth the slightly higher cost.

Although the comfortable armchairs were very stained, and the dinner restaurant is noisy, dark and doesn't serve grilled and steakes, this hotel is over the top when it comes to location (best in town) , Very large and fresh breakfast (until eleven), furniture in the large room and helpful concierge (esp. Badrbara).

The hotel stay really made this trip bearable. The view from up on the 26th floor overlooking the Mississippi was spectacular. The location was great, in walking distance of many great places and right on the river so I was able to do a quick jog along the riverwalk. Parking and the restaurant where no at all cheap...but I wasn't expecting to save much […] money on this trip. Overall, I'd give the spot a very high B+. Mehr

Main downside is the lack of soudproofing. The door had a 1" opening. We could hear EVERYTHING in the hall. Area was very convenient, good for Mardi Gras as it's below the parade lines. Very close to every restaurant. Not many amenities as I'd expect for a 4 star hotel though. Pool was eh and no jacuzi. One restaurant although there are lots within […] walking distance. Mehr

I have never written a review before- but had to after this stay in New Orleans. I have been going to Mardi Gras for quite some time now and have stayed at several different hotels but this one was SO awesome I knew I would write a review when I came back home! The service was excellent , the location was excellent, and the hotel is connected to the […] mall with a movie theater- coffee shop- and several quality department stores. We will be staying here EVERYTIME we visit the Big Easy :)!! Mehr

Very classy place and cheap too. We were going to stay in a french quarter type hotel to get the "total immersion experience". After walking around the french quarter for a day or two, I was glad to leave it behind and cleanse myself at the Westin. The hotel is in a great location, 10 min. walk to Jackson square. They gladly stored our luggage after the cruise for us because we had a late flight home and wanted to kill some time in "The quarter" rather than wait at the airport for 4 hours. Mehr

what's great about this hotel is the location, the view from the lobby and rooms and $18 self parking in garage is a plus. Staff is very helpful and friendly. This hotel however needs serious updating and I wonder whether other guests leaving comments here had better rooms. Its not charmingly old - just 30 or so years old from furniture to tiles, etc. bathroom: - […] bad lighting (position of light and broken/malfunction) - leaking faucet - no fan so gets really foggy when showering room: - horribly old and soft mattress so be prepared to roll to the middle from both sides - loud/noisy - you hear the neighbors and other guests walking past room very clearly - bad/insufficient lighting - three picture frames with dull art and two frames had significant scratches (looks like someone got them from a dumpster or $1) Mehr

Hotel was great. Awesome staff.

Best part about this hotel was its location. Right across from the Casino, the aquarium, and the Riverwalk shops. Only a few blocks from Jackson Square. Hotel was clean and service was fantastic! Great overall experience.

I highly recommend the Westin in the French Quarter of New Orleans. The Westin is very clean and comfortable. A huge plus for the location is that they have a parking garage and in New Orleans French Quarter, parking is hard to find and expensive. It is only $18 for 24 hours with your stay at the Westin. We had a great experience at the Westin over the Sugar Bowl 2012 weekend. The staff and facilities were excellent. The location is right across the street from the Harrah's casino and a very short distance to the French Quarter. AAA+++

We love this hotel

Its location is great and within walking distance to french quarters. Also, great staff, although room service did take about 45 minutes to arrive to our rooms. Food is fine, nothing fancy. Guest beware!!! They allow pets in the rooms and do not require their owners to keep them quiet.

The staff was very kind and courteous to me. They are very accommodating and professional...I enjoyed my Christmas holiday at this hotel...I will be back..for the falcons-saints rivalry it is the best in the nfl.

A great location to sight see New Orleans tourist areas. You can walk or ride the train that's practically just outside the door and get to all the sights.

Cant beat the Westin! Awesome location - within a walk to everything. Would recommend to anyone.

I stay at the Westin in other cities so I thought that this one would be nice as the others. In general, no big complaints. The bathroom was old and dirty (rust and mold) but the weekend I was there, they couldn't move me. Perfect location to see Canal St., the shops, and the French Quarter. I read all the reviews before I booked this hotel. We had a wonderful stay and I thought the hotel was beautiful. The elevators are different, but you get used to them. I would stay here again.

Service from the staff was spot on. One of the bell staff was particularly helpful and friendly so we wrote a thank-you to his boss. Location is convenient to the Quarter on Rue Iberville. Nice riverfront view from the lobby and our room.

Hotel is in a great location near the French quarter, Harrah's, and Jackson Square. The Hotel is a Westin so I was expecting a nice hotel. The "sky lobby" of hotel is very nice and has a great views of the Mississippi River. The rooms are to something that needs attention. I can speak for our room in that our bed was the very nice "heavenly series" […] but the rest of the room was lacking. The tv reception was horrible, the window in our room that looked out to the river was cracked or what looked to almost be bullet holes/rock cracks that would appear in your car windshield. The bathroom light was so in appropriately placed both my wife and I felt as you were talking a shower in the dark. Also the furniture was cheap and DIRTY. It was white but looked as though it had never been cleaned. Nice location but this Westin location needs to step it up. Mehr

Lets start with elevators and parking. The lobby is on the 11th floor, the parking is below. you have to switch elevators at the lobby (which is incidentally the mall elevator) then go to a separate bank to get to your room. The hotel elevators are SLOW. I've live in NYC and have never waited to so long to get on. Dont stay on any room on the 14th […] floor unless you want to look at the roof of the garage and a large concrete parapet. Room was fairly clean but the paint was peeling off of the bathroom ceiling. I'm not talking about one little spot, maybe 3SF. There is very little sound control. These rooms are LOUD. The tiled foyer acts like an echo chamber. You can hear the service people cleaning the rooms above and adjacent. It doesnt help that the service staff is yelling down the hallways to each other and holding entire conversations in the open doorways to the rooms being cleaned. Mehr

Really nice hotel with excellent service. The staff is extremely courteous. Parking is a little steep ( $36 for valet and $18 for self park). One does not need the car in the French Quarter district. The Harrah's casino is just across the street and all of the good eateries are just a few blocks away.
