Das Hotel liegt nicht ganz zentral vom Zentrum. Es ist aber zu Fuss gut erreichbar.

It was a good location for the price. Not a bad place to stay at. Parking was a lil pricey.

The front-desk-clerk was very well trained and friendly. Great that we had the change to park our car even though the hotel is downtown.

Location: For the price, the location was great. We were less than a mile from the convention center, and most of the walk was through the shops and sights of 5th Ave. Trolly stops were close by, but we preferred to walk over to the Marina or Little Italy. We did take the trolly to the zoo, gardens, and Coronado Island. Service: There was always someone […] in the office, transportation was provided to and from the airport, and coffee was always hot and waiting to welcome us. Amenities: Hotel was clean and comfortable. Wifi was available for free, but the connection was weak. Our only problem was some banging pipes early in the morning. They are aware of the problem and working on fixing it, but I might recommend an upstairs room until they do. Mehr

Hotel is in a great location me and some friends were in town for padres games. Fair price nut the rooms could use some upgrades

I was disapointed, 2 nights we ask for wake up call, st5ill waiting, was quite a few cockroaches, taking ashower you need ear plugs, the pipes made a terrible noise. Left a neckless under a pillow, called to ask about it , they found it but refuses to send it cod. not ery nice.

I expected a bad room based on the reviews, but I was only there for a few hours (early morning flight). I was pleasantly surprised. The guy at the front desk when I went was awesome. I had a rental car due at 7pm, and I got my room at 6:50. The front desk guy told me where I could find the gas station on the way to the rental car place, and then arranged […] the shuttle to pick me up at the airport terminal. When I got in the room I inspected it for stains on the blankets and such, but everything was spotless & in good condition. My only issue was there was no fridge or channel guide. The hotel offers a good rate and is close to the Gaslamp Quarter, downtown, the train staion, and the harbor. The room was clean and very spacious. The only negatives my girlfriend and I encountered were in the bathroom. The bathtub felt very uneven, the bathroom door wouldn't close completely, and there was a constant humming sound that we couldn't […] figure out where it was coming from. Had the worst experience with the front desk associate Yuli on March 31 at 3 am. A fight broke out in the parking lot as soon as I was walking up to check in. I notified him that there was a fight in progress and he went outside to stop it yelling. He was out there for a while, then called security. After security handled that situation he took another […] 20 plus mins to check me into my room because he kept getting interrupted. Aggravated at this point I asked him if he can hurry up and give me my key to my room and had explained to him that I was very tired and hadn't slept for 23 hrs and that I had to be up within the next 4 hrs and he proceeded to tell me that quote in quote "well then you should have got here earlier"..... that's was beyond anything I had ever experienced and because of this experience I will Never stay at this hotel and will consider booking with Rodeway..... I'm very livid about this. I was a guest and did not feel that hospitality once here. Very unprofessional staff.Do NOT waste ur money. Mehr

Good location, Room is clean No breakfast Overpriced during AAD conference Staff is helpful

Two single ladies, we felt safe and comfortable, walkable to Gaslamp, front desk staff always available and super helpful. Room was clean, beds were comfy, would recommend.

The hotel staff was excellent however the hotel is in very poor condition.

The room was clean and it is centrally located, but the beds are horrible! The shower came as high as my chest and the bathtub might be ok if your only 3 feet tall. Great service, but room is not very good.

one room smelled like cat urine, and one had water pipes that soundded like a jack hammer

If you don't mind losing sleep over thin walls and annoying neighbors, this hotel is for you! And what makes it better is that you call the front lobby and they don't answer so you have to walk down to the lobby and complain. Enjoy!

If you're on a budget this hotel is a MUST! The furniture may be a little old but the rooms are clean, and the service is great. I definitely recommend this hotel.

This hotel was in a perfect location in San Diego and the price was cheap! The room was completely ok, and the free airport shuttle worked perfect!

This hotel is located at the top of a quite significant hill, 4 or 5 blocks (or more) from viable public transport, cafes or grocery store, making it difficult to do anything after dark if you do not have a vehicle. While the staff here were stand-offish but okay, and the room was reasonably and pleasantly furnished, my experience was hideous, mainly […] due to the paper thin walls and excessive constant plumbing noises. Doors slammed day and night (staff as well as guests contributing to this), people partied, cars came and went, and it was not possible to sleep. The shower tray was weird, like balancing dangerously on an exercise ball, hot water was intermittent and the fridge froze (and ruined) all food and drink - apparently unable to be repaired during my 6 day stay. The telephone in the room was faulty (people could barely hear my voice) and it also was not repaired or replaced. The continental breakfast was very basic and ran out on the day I needed to have it. Wifi signal was not strong and would annoyingly drop out regularly. I know it's only a two star but a different philosophy about customers might make a difference. Mehr

Although older and a bit run down, location in downtown S.D. is convenient. Although we knew parking was extra, $16 per night is a little steep and must be factored in when considering the rate, if you are driving. The continental breakfast is minimal, but several nice places to eat within VERY short walking distance.

We stayed here for 4 nights over the holidays. Everything was very nice except after we got home and saw that our credit card was charged some small fees that we were never told about during our stay. Not a deal killer, but just annoying. Be sure to ask them about the fees.

This hotel is on a One-Way Street so you have to drive around the block to get there from Airport and therefore not as easy as it appears on the map. Also, the doors are metal causing an eco. The rooms are not sound proof and could hear the neighbors TV and talking. The night we stayed we were kept awake all night by neighbors who ran up and down outside […] balcony hallway all night until 4AM and management did nothing to curb their noise. Mehr

The only 2 negatives parking is $16/day and the walls are thin and you can hear people in the other rooms and hallways. Lucky for us they didn't stay up too late. Overall it was fine, convenient and clean.

This place is a dump. We waited until the last minute to find a hotel room for NYE and this was our last resort. The rooms are dingy, the bed was uncomfortable, you could hear when the room next door was shower, the pipes shook and creaked. On top of all that, we specifically requested joint rooms and the hotel couldn't even accommodate that. It's San […] Diego, so we felt safe. We parked on the street and weren't worried about our car. We ended up walking the 7 blocks from the gaslamp and weren't worried about being mugged. So the location is fine, it's the hotel itself that wasn't up to par. Mehr

I chose this hotel because they didn't charge extra for 2 beds. I should have paid the extra $20. The outside was actually very nicely kept and I had a good view. When I first walked in, the room smelled strongly of marijuana and febreeze. I was annoyed that they didn't take the extra 20 min to air out the room especially since it was a non-smoking […] room. The shower has a tub that is half the size of a bathtub so it is basically a stand only shower that lets dirty water pool around your feet. The shower pipes make a loud whining noise when the water is on. The light switch also turns on a fan that has a very loud high pitched whining noise. My ear were ringing by the time I finished the shower. The beds were the most uncomfortable beds I have ever slept in. It was impossible to sleep on my side because the mattress was so thin. Also I could feel the springs when I was on my back. When I was on my side it felt like I was sleeping on a piece of cardboard. The beds were very low to the ground and there were stains on all the linens. The breakfast was only a pile of danish pastries that were dry. Mehr

Hotel was convenient to downtown San Diego and clean. The price was very affordable. The complimentary breakfast is just a danish or small muffin and coffee or tea or juice. What surprised me negatively was the $16 charge for parking our vehicle. That was not obvious to me when I booked the room.

Well the hotel is whatever the room smelled kinda funky and the bathroom had some bugs flying around. We didn't stay in the room during the whole day but you do get what you paid for.

Great Staff, we walked to Gaslamp Quarter and took a cheap cab ride back.

i was highly upset! they dont tell you that they are puting holds on your funds. they just charge your card. Also, when checking in thier customer service is very rude they tell you nothing about the hotel, and you have to pay for parking which they do not mention when booking this hotel

I stayed only for 2 nights this hotel and I loved it. 1. Good location for everywhere. 2. Well maintenance room/clean/comfort 3. Good service of reception/door man. When I visit to San Diego, usually I stay Hill Crest area, but I like to stay near dwtwn and stay this hotel again.

Being that i work at a hotel, my expectations of the price i paid was GREAT! The room had two beds as i asked and was very spacious compared to other hotels that were more expensive in gaslamp. I asked for extra towels and received them right away-customer service is a 10. We roamed around by foot and everything was so close to the hotel! Motel style so you can park your car in front of your room and off the street. My iPod touch had trouble picking up the wifi so I spent some time sitting by my hotel door. Clean comfy room and friendly staff. The great location, price, free wifi and continental breakfast were all key factors for me but they also offer free airport shuttle pick up which […] I never used. Mehr

Location, location, location!!! Walking distance from gas lamp and downtown. Hotel is dated and the room had an odd smell. Sprayed a little febreeze and it was good as new. For the money it was well worth it.

It's not like I plan on spending more than to face plant on the bed after a long day of walking, eating, and drinking. So this is perfect for the younger college student and early 30 crowd. Wouldn't recommend it for family with kids or seniors.

Location was perfect. Room had a damp smell, carpet was damp and air conditoner was off, and attracted bugs. Card was charged for parking after hotel personnel said it would not be.

We stayed there for one night on our trip through California. The Hotel is in walking distance (10 min) to San Diego Downtown (esp. Gaslamp Quarter). The room was pretty good. Nice furniture (though not the newest one). Only bad thing: The breakfast is not worth to be called one: Coffee, orange juice and little sweet pastries, that's it. (And parking […] fee!) Mehr
