"Bahnhof Termini liegt quasi um die Ecke"
Bewertet von einem Hotels.com-Gast am 25. Feb. 2013Auch wenn mein Aufenthalt nur eine Nacht dauerte (EuroLeague-Fußballspiel), war ich sehr zufrieden. Kleines, aber recht ruhiges & sauberes Einzelzimmer. Auch das Hotel an sich liegt in einer eher ruhigen Seitenstraße, obwohl die viel befahrene Via Cavour gerade mal 20m entfernt ist. Da ich mit der Bahn anreiste, war mir die kurze Entfernung (ca. 10 Fußminuten) zum Hauptbahnhof Termini sehr wichtig. Mit dem Frühstück in einem etwas kleinen Raum (3 oder 4 Tische) bei gemütlichem Ambiente war ich ebenfalls zufrieden. Müsli, Joghurt, Ei, Schinken, Marmelade, Honig, Brötchen, Crossants ... dazu Saft & Cappuccino/Kaffee - reichhaltiger geht es für ein 2-Sterne-Hotel mit günstigem Preis wohl kaum noch. Das freundliche, junge Personal an der Rezeption (die Tag & Nacht besetzt ist, so dass man seinen Schlüssel abgeben kann) trug schließlich zu meinem guten Gesamteindruck bei. Der einzige Negativpunkt ist das nicht richtig schließbare Fenster (ließ sich bei Druck leicht öffnen), dafür konnte ich jedoch die Jealousiene außen zumachen und innen die Vorhänge zu ziehen.

Bewertet von einem Hotels.com-Gast am 25. Feb. 2013Ich war nur kurz hier zu Gast, was aber schon ausreichte, um die viel gepriesene Hilfsbereitschaft und Serviceorientierung zu erleben und spüren. Ich konnte bereits um 10 Uhr Einchecken, etwas arbeiten (WLAN zuverlässig), bevor ich zu meiner Abendveranstaltung ging. Am nächsten Morgen musste ich bereits 6 Uhr das Haus verlassen. Problemlos und Frühstück zum Selbernehmen (und EInpacken) gab es auch. "Feel at home!" hieß es am Ende des Herumführens beim Einchecken. Das war auch in der Tat der Fall!

Als ich die Bilder von den vielen schönen Zimmern und den Preis gesehen habe, war ich erst skeptisch, da es zu schön schien, um wahr zu sein. Die Vermieter haben uns dann am Tag der Anreise gleich angeschrieben und uns beim Finden der Pension und der Anreise Tips gegeben. Sie haben uns dann sogar einen Treffpunkt genannt und uns abgeholt. Als wir einmal ein Problem mit dem Schlüssel hatten, haben Sie uns auch sofort geholfen und waren innerhalb von zehn Minuten da. Die Wohnung ist ziemlich weit oben, man muss also einige Treppen hoch, dafür hat man von der schönen Terrasse einen super Blick! Der Rest des Apartments ist auch toll, Fernseher, Sofa, zwei Schlafzimmer mit Küche, in der man sich auch bedienen kann (Geschirr, Töpfe, Salz, Kaffee, Nudeln und Pesto). Das Bad ist ganz frisch renoviert und supersauber. Und man ist mitten in der Stadt! 5-10 Minuten zum Piazza Novana, 20 Minuten zu Fuß zum Colosseum und dem Forum Romanum, 10 Minuten zum Trevi-Brunnen. Alles in allem ein Glücksgriff!

"Wer nach einem langen Tag Sigthseeing Ruhe sucht, ist hier genau richtig."
Das Hotel liegt am Rand des hektischen Zentrums von Rom. In ca. 20 Gehminuten erreicht man den Piazza del Popolo, wo die Stadt zu pulsieren beginnt. Wir hatten ein "einfaches" Doppelzimmer in der obersten Etage und waren sehr zufrieden. Das Zimmer und das Bad waren immer sauber, die Rolladen vor dem Fenster wurden immer runter gelassen, so daß es nicht […] zu heiß wird. Es gibt eine Klimaanlage. Das Bett war für uns genau richtig . Einziges Manko, es gab nur ein deutsches Fernsehprogramm. Die Bilder in der Hotelbeschreibung entsprechen auch der Wirklichkeit. Der Service ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Frühstück ist sicherlich für italienische Verhältnisse schon sehr gut, wer allerdings knackige Brötchen und Vollkornbrot etc. erwartet, sollte hier nicht frühstücken. Es gab mehrere süße Kuchen (typisch italienisch), frischen Obstsalat, Marmeladen, Lachs, eine Sorte Käse und drei Sorten Wurstaufschnitt. Dazu kleine süße (keine herzhaften) Brötchen, Wasser, Saft und Kaffee aller Art - für uns durchaus ausreichend. Einen Abend haben wir im Restaurant gegessen: sehr gediegen, sehr lecker, aber nicht gerade günstig (wie man allerdings bei dem Hotelstandard schon ahnt). Restaurants haben wir leider in unmittelbarer Nähe des Hotels nicht gefunden, darum bei der Umgebung nur 4 Punkte. Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen und würden immer wieder hier einchecken. "Hotel liegt direkt an der Villa Borghese"
Charmantes Hotel im Art-Decor Stil, in einer schönen Villen-Gegend von Rom gelegen. Der Fussweg (ca. 20 Minuten) in die Stadt durch den Park war ein angenehmer Start in den Tag, ansonsten sind auch diverse Tram Linien innerhalb von 5 Minuten zu erreichen. "Ruhiges Hotel. Sehenswürdigkeiten sind nur mit Bus und Taxi zu erreichen."
Einige Merkwürdigkeiten: .Im ersten Zimmer funktionierte die Klimaanlage nicht. Aus der Dusche kam nur kochendheisses Wasser. Kaltwasserzufuhr wurde nach einigen schwierigen Operationen vom Personal wieder in Funktion gebracht. Umzug in ein kleineres Zimmer. Zeites Zimmer hatte für mich zwei kleine faszinierende Kleiderschränke. Sie hingen an der Decke […] und die Aufhängung für die Kleidungsstücke konnte man mit einer Stange herunter angeln. It is not as close to the Spanish Steps as they make it sound its about a 20/30 min walk however the location was tucked away in a quiet peaceful corner it was nice to be away from the hustle and bustle of Rome, the staff was very kind, the breakfast very good, and the suit was great! A small stylish Art Deco hotel where the staff are all professional, friendly and helpful. Located a bit out of the centre. Taxis are easy to find and cost about Euro 12 . We went for four days. The hotel adds to the pleasure of time in Rome. It is a big city and a classy place to hang out and rejuvenate the feet is a big bonus. With advice from staff […] we found some excellent restaurants close by and quite out of normal tourist range. Breakfasts are good but not exceptional and dinner is expensive but good and served with style. Rooms cleaned and tidied several times a day to a high standard. Overall good value. This is still a gem in Rome. It's at the heart of residential Villa Borghese but moments away from the city's great sights, shopping and cultural life (Maxxi and Parco della Musica). I took my 8 year old son, that was a good age to experience a hotel like this.I would not call The Lord Byron a family hotel as everything was so formal and quiet,but some families may enjoy this. The staff were lovely with our son and very warm and polite.Nothing was too much trouble.It was a lovely base to explore Rome. The decor was beautiful and […] the antiques made it a real experience.This was not wasted on us or our son. "Quiet & Cozy retreat from Rome's tourist area"
We loved our stay at Lord Byron! Although it seemed very far from all the sights-- we did not find it too far to walk. We planned out our days exploring the city using our hotel as a starting point & nothing was over a 10-15 minute walk from each other. At the end of the day-- if we found ourselves far from the hotel & too tired to walk back-- we would […] take a quick taxi. The staff was gracious & extremely helpful. "Fantastic Rome Boutique hotel"
This is our third stay at the Lord Byron. We love it! It is a beautifully appointed hotel, with superb staff. The breakfast is outstanding and the mini bar and WIFI are complimentary. We love being by the Borghese Gardens and heartily recommend this hotel. It's boutique intimate style is wonderful. I would recommend this hotel to everybody. It is located outside the busy city centre in a safe and clean area of the city. The easiest transport to use would be a cab, but the tram is only 5min away as well.Authentische Expedia-Gästebewertung

Good value for a high end retreat a bit removed from the hustle and bustle of Rome but still easily accessible. This is an especially good base for visiting the Borghese Gallery and gardens and the zoo. There is a tram stop just down the street but we walked everywhere without a problem. "Not really 5 star"
The hotel was clean and service was good. However the condition of the hotel does let it down. Everything in the room is very dated from the carpet to bathrooms and huge gaps in the skirting makes the room unsightly, particularly if you were expecting 5 star quality or even close to 4 star. Most budget hotels in the UK will have better finishings than […] this 5 star hotel. Also don't expect much as it's part of the leading hotels of the world. I guess anyone can be part of this group. I will not recommend this hotel to anyone expecting 5 star luxuary. It's better desbribed as a 2 to 3 star with touches of luxuary and service. Some of the other let downs were, limited TV channels (only channels in English were 2 news channels BBC world and CNN#, only soft drinks in the mini bar #all other drinks had to be ordered as room service with the €5.5 service charge). The Lord Byron is a great small hotel in a nice neighborhood in Rome. Great staff and charming Hotel in "Embassy Row" just north of central Rome. Food, especially breakfast and the service were outstanding. Recent room renovation was clean and stylish. We had a balcony and large two-person shower, both of which are rare treasures in Europe. Location was a little inconvenient to central Rome. "The real deal Italian experience, the staff are amazing."
Fabulous experience, first time to Roma and recieved the best experience at this hotel. The staff are fabulous and very accomodating. Loved the decor and authinticy of the hotel. "Delicious 5 star experience"
I chose to stay at the Lord Byron because it was tucked away from all of the craziness of Rome in August. The staff was 110% on top of everything. At every turn they were going above and beyond to be helpful. Everyone, and I mean the maintenance men and the housekeepers were smiling and helpful. It is a small boutique hotel but offers every service […] of the big hotels. I will say though that being removed from the mainstream of Rome was expensive. Everywhere we went was a minimum $10 ride each way. Walking really wasn't an option because of the distance (not to mention the cluster it is to get around Rome to start with). "A Hidden Gem"
The Lord Byron Hotel is a wonderful mansion carefully looked after by its owner, a French Art Deco expert. Original art deco paintings hang on the walls and beautiful art deco furniture transports you back to decades past. Situated in a quiet neighborhood full of fancy houses and beautiful embassies, the hotel is also very close to the beautiful parks […] of the Villa Borghese and the National Gallery of Modern Art. Although it is slightly out of range of most popular tourist sites, it is a beautiful, short (approx. 15 minute) walk to the Spanish Steps and Via Veneto. It's location, although slightly out of the way, has its benefits however. The quiet neighborhood ensures a relaxing stay, the beautiful landscaping is pleasing to the eye. Plus, the water pressure in the showers is incredible! The rooms are comfortable and spacious and the hotel staff is always happy, helpful and welcoming. You can tell that this small hotel is extremely cared for by it seemingly live-in owner who treats this hotel very much as one would treat their home. Family pictures and adorn the bookshelves, which also boast a wide personal library. Best of all, the owner is always around in his perfect grey suit, ensuring that all his guests are comfortable, cared for and happy. "Quirky art deco hotel in lovely peaceful area"
Excellent hotel, nothing too much trouble. Enormous choice at buffet style breakfast. Comfortable room although ours was fairly small (on top floor) with a huge walk-in wardrobe and very nice bathroom. Not very central, walkable into centre (probably a good half hour) but uphill walk home! However very peaceful location with lovely walks in Villa Borghese […] nearby. Photos on website do the hotel justice apart from the one on the balcony with the stripy seats, which wasn't available for sitting or meals and looks over the road. Similar to other reviews, the location is a bit of a distance from most of the sights. After a long day of walking, the additional walk to the hotel, or alternatively, the addition of another taxi fare was not what we looked forward to. We stayed in the Lord Byron for two nights in June at the end of a long vacation in Italy. The hotel is a boutique style establishment that sits above the Villa Borghese, a very nice neighborhood and park in Rome. The hotel service was excellent, and the rooms very clean (if not a bit small). We enjoyed our stay immensely and would stay here again. […] The only downside is that the hotel sits about 2km from the Spanish steps and about 3 km from Vatican city. The hotel is in a nice location, however a bit far from all the main sight seeing...so if you dont like walking or taking cabs then dont stay here. This is a great hotel and the attention to detail at the hotel is second to none. All the staff are friendly and very helpful. Room was always clean and would recommend this hotel. Also there was free WiFi Hotel is not near centre, however a taxi to most attractions will be no more than 10 euros and the taxi will be outside the hotel in seconds. Also […] it is a nice walk through the park and you arrive at the Spanish steps (allow 30 mins for this though). Breakfast was good with plenty of choice, including smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. We plan to go back to Rome next year and will book this hotel. As long as you are aware that the hotel is not in the centre, then you will have no complaints about chossing this hotel. I was extremely disappointed, esp. because I had just left a 5 star hotel in Madrid that I really liked, and the Lord Byron seemed particularly lacking in comparison to that one. I felt ripped off. Très bel hôtel de charme entièrement "Art Déco". Petit hôtel luxueux d'environ 25 chambres. Petit déjeuner buffet très agréable. Personnel charmant. Mycket trevlig personal på ett familjärt femstjärnigt hotell med bra restaurang. Bodde i ett deluxerum som är mycket rymligt och trevligt. Hotellet ligger avskilt och lugnt precis på kanten av Borgheseparken där man kan jogga, ta en promenad eller lugnt korsa igenom till Spanska trappan på en kvart. Spårvagn 19 till vatikanen tar 10 minuter. Ligger […] dock utanför "stadsringen" vilket innebär att det fasta priset på taxi från flygplatsen inte gäller. Men det ligger faktiskt närmare så lite hagglande med chauffören så får du samma pris oavsett (€40 i mars 2012). Är ni två blir det faktiskt billigare än att ta tåget till Termini och taxi därifrån. Ligt niet in centrum, binnen een half uurtje lopen door een mooi park kan je er wel komen. Is prima overdag, maar 's avonds geen optie. Verder is het een ouderwets 5* hotel en daar moet je van houden. Het ontbijt is wat karig. Wel gratis internet en minibar.Authentische Expedia-Gästebewertung
