Wir hatten zu dritt eine Juniorsuite im dreiundzwanzigsten Stock mit einem phantastischen Blick auf den Chao Praya Der Service war außergewöhnlich gut Das Personal war unglaublich freundlich und hilfsbereit Die Zimmer waren sehr schön und mit allem denkbaren Komfort und sehr sauber Das Frühstücksbuffet war sagenhaft Direkt vor dem Hotel ist das […] Pier Mit dem Boot kommt man für ein paar Cent sehr schnell zu den wichtigsten Sehenswürdigkeiten Das hoteleigene Shuttleboot bringt einen zur Skytrain Die Lage des Hotels ist deshalb unglaublich gut Abends wenn die Boote nicht mehr fahren ist das Personal behilflich ein Taxi zum gewünschten Ort zu bekommen Taxifahrten abends in Bangkok sind extrem billig Man zahlt maximal zwischen ein und zwei Euro fürs Taxi innerhalb Bangkoks Man kann dieses Hotel wirklich nur empfehlen Es gibt absolut nichts auszusetzen Mehr

Das Hotel liegt unmittelbar am Chao Phraya River. Es hat eine schöne Terrasse auf der man auch das Frühstück einnehmen kann. Unser Zimmer lag im 18. Stock und der Blick auf den Fluss atemberaubend. In unmittelbarer Nähe liegen diverse Anlegestellen für Fähren und die nächtlichen Ausflugsboote. Auf der gegenüberligenden Seite des Flusses befindet sich […] ein täglicher Markt mit vielen Ständen. Mit Boot und Skytrain in schnellster Zeit ueberall.

Very enjoyable EXCEPT. After our stay we wanted to join the Sheraton club only to be told the request had to be prior the stay. Not happy Ralph. The same for our Singapore stay. Morris Bloom

Excellent hotel in a great location on the river . Very f friendly and helpful staff and great amentaties. Will definitely book again when visiting Bangkok..

Even the room was a little bit small, but we were enjoyable a lots.

though we daily struggled with awfully unfriendly silverware in the - in intself - fantastic main restaurant, we equally struggled with very user unfriendly computer start-up software, we had a very good time and will definitely recommend the Orchid to friends and relatives. We might come back.

Excellent hotel,just what you would expect, fantastic position on the river and views from the 16th floor. River City complex good next to the hotel but most other things were a taxi ride away.

What can we say? The hotel is located with the river with a nice view, and when all rooms have view to the river, so can't it be better. Several nice restaurants, and especially Sambal who is locatet with/in the river, are good. Rooms are nice and the staff are very pleasant and professional. Great position and ammenities. Easy to get to Patpong markets and close to river. Room had fantastic views of river. Excellent service.

From the moment we walked into this hotel, I knew it was top class. The layout, cleanliness, staff, efficiency, comfort and decor are outstanding! The room is large with windows overlooking the river - just gorgeous! We actually stayed in the first night to enjoy the room. The breakfast the next morning was the best I have ever had with so many choices […] and good quality food. As you can see, I can't say enough good about this hotel. When in Bangkok, stay here! Also did a dinner cruise on the river - what fun and great menu! Mehr

Although this hotel is showing its age we stayed there because of Rick Stein's praise for the restaurant--and were not disappointed. The positio. On the river is great, too. Reception desk service was excellent.

We had a lovely stay in Royal Orchid Sheraton late Aug 2011. Thanks to hotels.com we got a great deal for our family including our four children. Rooms are spacious with wonderful view over the river. Staff was very helpful. We can highly recommend the spa as well. Ideally located on the river so that you can easily take a taxiboat to the Grand Palace […] etc. Neighbourhood is not very interesting restaurant/shopping wise. Restaurants in hotel are good. Mehr

The hotel in just off the Chao Phraya River, so one can hop-on a commuter boat and enjoy the easy transportation on the river, as opposed to Bangkok's horrible street traffic. Only 15bht will take one up or down the river with ease. The Royal Orchard is an American hotel and one doesn't feel very Thai except for the decorations. The food in the Indonesian […] restaurant, "Sambal Bar and Grill" was mediocre. Not one of the best meals I had in Thailand and possibly the worst. Mehr

every room of this hotel have river view and it is beutiful

Service and location were great but was dissappointed to see scratches on most of the wood work in the room. It seemed out of character for a hotel of this standard.

Very good hotel, the rooms are very clean and the view is fantastic. Expensive internet in rooms, but very fast and good in public areas. Breakfast buffe to die for, very good with many choices. Expensive SPA

The hotel location is convenient because it is right on the river and is next to a docking station for the water taxi. With the water taxi you get to anywhere on the river. Only problem I had was telling taxi drivers how to get back to the Royal Orchid. They either don't know where it is, or they confuse it for the other Sheraton location in Bangkok. I have been staying in this hotel for 10 years now when I visit Bangkok (about 4 times a year). It is a very nice and affordable hotel. Unfortunately, this time they were extremely full and I could not get the choice of my room. However, they did what they could to make me happy. Hotel is in general very good, but location is not so nice.

The hotel staff was really helpful, the view of the river was amazing, the restaurant had delicious food. Everything I was expecting from the Sheraton.

If you are only in Bangkok for the weekend or intend to have a longer stay, I definitely recommend this hotel. The Pros: - EXCELLENT location: you are right beside the river, and a step away from the river taxi which can take you anywhere you want to go. Floating markets, Koh San Rd. etc. Excellent restaurants and a 7-11 are just a short walk away […] (1 block). - Excellent view: the rooms look out onto the river. Beautiful view, esp. at night with the boat lights and little restaurant lights across the river. Friendly service: all hotel staff are friendly, helpful, and welcoming. ATM located in the hotel Public internet location (gives you 1hr free internet) The Cons wifi is expensive food and drinks in the hotel are quite pricy You will be very pleased with this hotel! Mehr

staying at this hotel gave me a wonderful base from which to explore the highlights of Bangkok. I personally like shopping and was able to reach most of the main centres very quickly and cheaply by taxi.The room was very well appointed, the bed extremely comfortable and I liked having tea and coffee facilities.The Riverview was excellent and I felt […] quite spoiled by all the staff. Definitely a hotel with the guest in mind. We will stay there again. Top notch service, cleanliness, and an attitude by the employees that is excellent. Oh, and the river view is so nice to the point that it is hard to leave your room to go out on the town.

We loved this place. The quality has not gone down from when we stayed there 23 years ago. We can't figure out why they lost 1/2 a star! I guess because they no longer put a fresh orchid on your pillow each night. We loved the silky sheets and the choice of 5 different pillow types blew us away! There are great pastries right next to the hotel and the […] street food nearby is fabulous! We loved the convenience of the free shuttle boat to the sky train, and the water taxi stops right outside the hotel too. We'll try to stay there again when we go back. Mehr

Royal Orchid Sheraton is one of my favourite hotels in the world. I enjoy excellent service in a first class venue which provides everything I need for a short or long stay. I travel frequently and always choose Royal Orchid when in Bangkok. I have not been disappoinited.

This is the Sheraton on the river in Bangkok as distinct from the Grande on Sukhumvit compared to which this hotel is reasonably priced. Service is as you would expect. The riverside location means you will get mosquitoes, but the bar is still worth the bite ! The mosquito repellent is on the house !! The obvious reward for loyalty reminds me that I […] must retrieve my SPG card soon. The food is nothing to write home about, for which you might as well go the river city next door. But still a good place to chill out if not much else. Mehr

This is a prime location on the river with good access to river transportation (the only way to really get around Bangkok). The hotel staff were uniformly helpful and went out of their way to ensure that we had a good stay.

excellent hotel - first rate in every respect

A beautiful hotel at a great price. Located on the Chao Phraya river, it is extremely close to a river ferry stop- which the ferry can take you up river to KhaoSan Rd. or down river to the Skytrain, if you don't want to take a cab (esp. during rush hours). Private hotel boat will also take you to the Skytrain ferry stop, or you can just take a ride. […] Relaxing by the pool is a must, overlooking the river, or at the Garden pool. Mehr

The Royal Orchid Sheraton exceeded all of our expectations! I had read previously that it was not convenient to the sights, which is absurd, all you have to do it get on the water taxi which is literally right next door 6 stops later you are right in the middle of it! Hotel is in the worst location in Bangkok I ever have been to, if it was not on the river it would not be worth a thirt of the price. Nothing around in a 4-5 block area besides junky buildings, only an overpriced little restauarant next to it and 2 Thai restaurants across the river. Besides the entrance, bar und restaurant area is depressing with low […] ceilings and very dark. For a third of the price you can get a room at other hotels with a room 2 times larger. Mehr

everything about our stay was great. Bangkok is a great city. we were well away from the troubles by the river. hotel staff very helpful
